“When will she wake up!” Liam screamed.
It felt like a threat. There was such power in his voice.
I lifted my eyelids slightly to view a concerned Liam pacing back and forth by my bedside.
I sat up after hearing his bellowing scream. I rubbed my head; it was in excruciating pain.
“What happened?” I asked.
Everyone stopped and stared at me for one second before getting to work. I had people taking my vitals, drawing blood, and running tests I didn't even know the names of.
Liam breathed a sigh of relief.
“What happened,” I said sternly.
“You were unconscious—“ He said, coming closer to me.
There wasn't much room for him to come closer.
“Fucking tell me what happened,” I yelled, ripping off all the wires that were attached to my body and getting up.
Everything around me in the room flew back and landed against the walls, including everyone there. I looked around and saw the frightened stare given to me by everyone and yelled, “Since no one knew what fucking happened, I will have to find it myself.
I ran out of the room, looking at my watch on my wrist, trying to find out who I could contact. I saw Henlys's name pop up and knew exactly who to call. I dialed him and looked behind me, only to see Liam catching up.
“Phen!” Liam yelled, “Wait!”
I looked back and picked up my pace, leaving him behind. I could tell he was upset that he was getting outran by someone who was finally faster than him.
I looked to my left after thinking I lost him, and he was right next to me.
He slammed me against the wall, cuffing my hands behind my back.
“Look, princess, you may think you're tough shit and stronger than everyone or faster than me, but there is no way you can outrun me in your current state.” He yelled he was huffing so hard, his chest rising and falling with each breath.
He touched my ear and showed me his hand, there was blood.
“You are bleeding.” He said, still angry.
“You better let the fuck go,” I yelled.
“Try me.” He said with a furious smirk.
I couldn't move; he was right. I am not strong right now. What can I do to get out of his grasp?
I looked around me, and then the idea hit. Henly pushed a spot in my head to activate whatever the fuck happened. So I hit my head as hard as I could to his.
He flew back and hit the wall again. Colors spun around me, and I was levitating.
“I guess it worked,” I said, lifting my hands up. These swirling colors around me were beautiful.
He slowly got up and ran into me, trying to hit my head again. I figure that's the way to deactivate it as well.
We slammed each other into walls, fighting and breaking everything in our path.
My watch rang; it was a call back from Henly.
“Where the fuck are Henly?” I yelled into my watch while being thrown around.
“In my classroom,” Henly said calmly.
My eyes intensified, and threw Liam off me and he flew down the corridor.
I ran as fast as I could to the classroom. This time, I was there in an instant.
I opened the door and slammed it shut, barricading me and Henly in.
Shortly after the door was trying to be slammed, you could hear Liam screaming out my name, begging me to listen to him.
I turned around and stopped toward Henly. “What is going on?” I said sternly.
Let me explain after I do this. He tapped my head, and my colors faded.
“If you continue to use it too much right now, it will only end up hurting you,” Henly said with an endearing face.
I took a deep breath, sat down, and looked at Henly, he started talking.
“You had more aura than we anticipated. Your body could not handle the immediate reaction to it. It was too much power in your untrained body.” Henly said, leaning against the desk.
“Okay, so how do I have my body adapt to the power within me?” I asked.
“You must train your body to the peak physical capabilities it may reach,” he said, grabbing a book and handing it to me. My apologies for causing all the pain and confusion right now, but this book will show you the requirements to activate your full abilities. No one has read this book. It was made for the chosen one.”
The words "chosen one" rang in the back of my head. How could I be the chosen one? What is so special about me?
I nodded, “Thank you for your time and explanation, I will get to reading this.”
I stood up and got near the door. Hearing Liam still banging and yelling.
I took a breath and went out there.
“Come to the dorm, now.” He said.
“I am not going anywhere with you,” I exclaimed.
“Just trust me,” Liam said.
We walked to the dorm again in silence.
It was late in the night by now so the only thing lighting the halls were the candles lining it.
As we were about to arrive at the gates of the door, there was a new door to the left of it.
“What's that?” I asked.
“Your new dorm, you're in a new class of power, so they have been working on it, " he said sadly.
“Oh, so we won't be sharing the same dorm anymore?” I asked, feeling kind of guilty. He just got his first roommate, and now I am leaving.
As we neared our door, it opened for us. The door slammed behind us as we found our way to the couch.
“I want to tell you so many things but can't, not here,” Liam said.
“Why no? You can just tell me, " I said, putting my hand on his.
My anger had gone away after the flood of guilt from leaving him.
“They added more cameras to the window. We can't leave anymore. Not until I find a way out, "he sai, looking around and pointing at all the cameras facing the window sill.
“The chosen one can do whatever their mind chooses their power to do, including teleportation.” He said again. “Your body can not handle it right; you need to get stronger.”
“Okay…” I said, very skeptical.
He leaned close to my ear. “Do not trust anyone.”
I trust him.
