It was a normal school morning. Nothing special. But Haru was in such a good mood that even Nari's buzzing wasn’t annoying or irritating.
"You know, I heard the new student is a guy. And they say his style is quite strange."
"Nari, considering the number of freaks in our class, that doesn’t really change the situation."
"Even so, aren’t you curious?" Her eyes sparkled with the anticipation of new events, or more simply, new gossip.
"I’m much more curious about where you get your information from," Haru replied with a warm smile, as if she were talking to a child.
The door creaked open.
Nari jumped from her seat.
"Hi, Boram!" She skipped towards her.
She is like a puppy seeing its owner...
"Nari, good morning," Boram responded with a restrained smile.
Her eyes fell on Haru.
"..."
She looked away and headed toward her seat.
Haru watched as Boram moved gracefully, never bothering to greet anyone first. But why should she? With her popularity, it made sense.
Boram didn’t even look up as she slid into her seat, yet it didn’t stop everyone else from sneaking glances her way. Haru’s fingers tapped faster against the desk. Of course, Boram didn’t need to acknowledge anyone—people came to her. The room adjusted to Boram, not the other way around. And somehow, that bothered Haru more than she wanted to admit.
Nari returned to her seat in front of Haru, sensing the tension in the air. She opened her mouth to say something, but before she could, something—or someone—flew past them.
Sigh. Another one of her "followers."
He approached Boram from behind and grabbed her shoulder.
"Boram, good morning!"
"I told you not to sneak up on me from behind!" She barely held herself back.
"Then can I approach from the front?"
"Better not come near at all."
"Geez, how rude!"
Chang Woo. Or just "the playboy."
"Nari, didn’t you say Boram has a boyfriend? So why is this fool still hitting on her?"
"Well, about that…" she nervously twirled her hair. "Misinformation! It seems they were mistaken..."
"Very reliable sources you have," Haru sighed.
Soon, the class began to fill up. Not just with students, but also with noise and chatter.
The teacher entered through the front door.
"Alright, everyone calm down! Take your seats!"
