Being a people pleaser is difficult. I try my hardest to fulfill everyone's dreams of me, but I don't think I'm able to do that. My parents want me to become a nurse or a business woman, but I just don't have any interest in any of that stuff! I'd rather do things that interest me, like race down the track of a raceway or skateboard downtown with some friends! But my parents hate that I skateboard or dream of becoming a NASCAR racer. They say," Oh! How unlady-like!" or, "You're a young woman and shouldn't be doing dangerous things like that!"   I personally think they can suck it, cause I'm gonna be a NASCAR driver no matter what they say! If I get hurt, then that's my own fault, cause I just like to do dangerous things! "Madame Reese, your father would like to see you in his study." Grace, my personal maid, said. "M'kay, thanks Grace." I said with a hint of boredom in my voice. Father always called me down whenever he had a "request" or a requirement for me to do. "Wonder what he needs me for this time," I think then roll my eyes. I start walking to my father's study, but as I walk my cat ,Cosmo, starts walking along with me. "Hey big guy," I say as I pick him up. My parents had never wanted me to have a cat but sfter years and years of begging and pleading I finally got my cat. He's a fluffy siamese/persian mix and has beautiful blue eyes. His eyes were the first thing to draw me in when I first got him. As we finally arive to my father's study, I start praying," Lord, help this to go well as I've been under a lot of preasure lately and would like a break sometime soon. I thank you for the cat you've given me and in Your name I pray, Amen." As I finish my short prayer, I knock on the door," I'm here, father." I say as I walk in. "So what did you need me for this time?" I say boredom clearly in my voice. " I need you to get better grades." he says, ignoring my boredom. "But I have straight A's though?" I say, confused. "I need you to have an A+ in every class, because our business partner's son has an A+ in every class." He says. "But I've been studying so much I have no time for anything else though?" I say, a bit of irritation in my voice. "Well, you obviously don't need extra free time if you're just gonna skateboard with those horrendous friends of yours." he says, still with a cold tone in his voice. "I can't do any better! I've been trying my hardest already!" the irritation growing in my voice. "I know you can do better." He says. "No, I can't! I'm already doing the best I can!" I say. "If he can do better, you have to be better." ,he says trying to persuade me,"So just do it already and stop complaining." he runs his hand through his black-silver hair. "You may leave now, Reese." he says. I leave the room, mentally exhausted. Cosmo comes right next to me and rubs against me. "Hey big guy. That didn't go very well, huh?" I say to him as I pick him up again. "I need to go take a rest." I say as I walk back to my room. I lay on my bed, thinking about how I'm gonna get out of here right when I turn 18 in a few days.
