Waking up on Christmas morning might be my favorite feeling out of all of the days of the year. Just the vibe and all of the cheer that is in the air. When we woke up this morning Jae made breakfast. It was nothing too complicated but it was delicious. 

“Open My gift first!!” Jea shouts to me. 

I look around the pile of gifts in the entrance of the room to find the one from him. We always place the gifts that we got from eachother in front of eachother’s doors. I got Luca a bunch of CD’s because he loves retro stuff and has a cool CD player, a $500 gift card from Starbucks for Saka because he loves coffe and yummy drinks, a totebag for Suho, a pair of Airpod pro’s for Jae, and a sky themed notebook for Sky. I end up just grabbing all of the gifts and bringing them to the living room. The other members do the same. I pick up Jea’s gift and slowley peeling back the wrapper to find a game card for Legends Of Zelda Tears Of the Kingdom!!!

“Thanks Jea!!” I practically shout “I’ve been waiting for this game to come out for so long!!”

“I’m happy you like it," he respounds smiling.

I carefully look over the rest of the gits in the pile. But wait. That's weird. I don’t see one from Luca. He always has one for me. I don’t mention anything about it while we unwrap the rest of the gifts. Sky got me new headphones cause my old pair broke, Saka got me a giant Dum Dum lollipop and Suho got me this cool bracelet. But I couldn’t help wondering why Luca did not give me a gift?

It is 9:00. Most of the members are already asleep. We had our usuall christmas dinner of turkey, mash potatoes, greenbean casserole, and chicken soup. With all of the side sauces of course. I am sitting in my hotel room starting the game Jae just got me while Luca is starting to pack his stuff up for when we go home on the 28th.

“Oh shoot!!” he shouts out of nowhere.

“What?” I ask, putting down the game. Luca almost never shouts. Despite being a goofball he doesn’t really raise his voice.

“I frogot to give you your gift!!!”

Before I can say anything, Luca runs to the hotel closet and flings the door open. He opens the safe in the closet and takes out a small wrapped present. 

“I know it looks small,” He said. 

“It’s ok.” I say. “I can’t wait to open it!”

He hands me the gift. It is carefully wrapped with brown paper and tied with a small bow. Everything was placed so perfectly I almost don’t want to rip it open. I carefully take off the bow and remove the wrapping paper. Inside is a small jewlery box. 

“I hope you like it,” He says. He looks at me smiling slightly. This little glint in his eye and his adorable dimples. The face that I knew since I was young. When I was in first grade. He’s always been with me.

I carefully open the jewlery box savoring the moment. Inside is a silver necklace with dates on it.

“The eighth of March, 2017 is when we met. When we were 11 in 6th grade. For seven years we have been friends.” He said blushing.

“I know it’s kinda cheesy but meeting you and becoming friends was the best thing. I love being friends with you and I want to stay friends. Forever” He said looking away.

I think I’m tearing up a bit. “It’s the best gift I could ever get.” I said.
