Marco imbues his hands with flames and, with his speed, burns the roots while blocking them!
Yanma, who was on the ground, runs towards his enemy. Marco immediately notices the woman's movement and focuses his attention on her movements.
In that small amount of time, Light conjures two stone walls that form like hills, appearing on Marco's sides; and Light's wall manages to effectively crush him, but not enough to break his bones.
The man is unable to defend all the attacks that were coming, so the wall presses on him while the captain of the knights approaches increasingly with her sword in hand.
Yanma reaches the man and, moments before he manages to plunge the sword into his chest, sparks fly out of Marco's hand.
"Beware!" Light, who saw the sparks at a glance, understands that Marco is going to blow himself up along with Yanma.
Light's warning comes late, Yanma's eyes notice the explosion that is coming. His mind understands Light's warning to move away, but his body is too slow, his muscles and limbs don't keep up with the speed of his reasoning.
At the same moment, a violent explosion breaks the earthen walls made by Light. The captain of the knights, Yanma, is hit by the intense flames and debris from the destroyed wall!
The force of the impact causes her to be thrown backwards.
"The difference in power is frightening!" Light thought. "Is there really a way to beat him by myself?!" Complemented.
Light is paralyzed, but not because he is scared, as he was previously. He stands still because he cannot think of any way to defeat his enemy. The feeling of being incapable plagues Light's body. Along with this, his discomfort at the difference in power becomes anger.
"How can I be this weak? Even after everything I've done?" That's what Light thinks.
Meanwhile, Marco slowly walks over to Yanma, who is on the ground, slowly recovering from the damage he suffered. Due to his armor, the shrapnel was unable to pierce his body, but managed to scratch his arms and a superficial part of his neck.
Light realizes what is about to happen in front of him. If he doesn't act now, Yanma will be killed!
With no time for further reflection, Light extends his hand and a spike of earth quickly begins to form.
"Hey, isn't your mana finished yet?" Marco, smiling slightly, turns to the boy.
Light throws the thorn, which approaches at the speed of an arrow!
If Marco was fully healthy, he would easily dodge it, especially because Marco in this state can follow the trajectory of the projectile, but does not have enough strength to dodge it.
With that, Light's thorn hits the man square in the forehead!
Blood drips from his forehead, his consciousness fades for seconds, but quickly regains it. He looks at Light again, with a look saying "It didn't work." However, Light's eyes aren't surprised, it's as if he has something else on his mind.
That's when Marco remembered. He remembered the other boy, William, who was still standing.
Marco turns back quickly in despair, and there is the other child, with a green aura reminiscent of the leaves that runs around his body. His eyes emanate so much determination that they turn completely white, exuding green bands provided by mana. In his hands, a dagger is held, heading towards the finished man's chest, while particles leak from its blade!
A fierce and indefensible attack, that even steel plates would been broken!
There was no way to avoid being hit, all Marco could do was defend using the palm of his hand!
The dagger goes through, leaving her stuck. Marco shows a small smile, while William sweats coldly, shaking with despair.
Just as the man in front of him was about to react, his head is hit from behind. In the distance, Light fired a seed at high speed, which makes Marco's head bleed!
This gives William enough time to withdraw his sword and walk away. Marco, on the other hand, gets dizzy from the impact. The effects of all the injuries from the battle are starting to show, your body is becoming weaker and weaker to react and act. It seems to be a matter of time before his consciousness fades...
The Rods brothers don't give a damn about their enemy's condition. William once again covers himself in his green aura, increasing his speed and heading upwards. Light begins to conjure another seed at the same time.
Marco can do nothing but dodge all of the boys' attacks.
"I need to counterattack!" Marco thinks.
At the same moment, he finds himself next to the body of a soldier of Legorio, in which his sword is in his hands, thrown to the ground.
Like a light at the end of the tunnel, Marco finds a way out of the situation he is in.
"He's going to get the sword!!" Light, always attentive to his enemy's movements, notices that Marco's eyes have focused on the sword.
However, it's too late for William to act, and Marco manages to pick up the sword from the ground and block the boy's blow at the same moment!
Light throws another seed, but he barely dodges it, even a few hairs were lost.
William tries to attack, but his opponent is an experienced swordsman, and can defend and counterattack in the blink of an eye!
William's rib, cheek, and shoulder are hit as the two exchange incessant sword strikes!
William's blows become increasingly faster, more anxious, more voracious!
His eyes dance insanely, trying to find some opening, some spot he can hit!
Marco is on the same page, even doing better than the boy, who is driven by his magic.
They move from side to side, as if it were a deadly dance, while Light watches and attacks from afar trying not to hit his brother, but with the movements getting faster and faster, it is difficult to predict any movement.
Either way, Light needs to attack, he needs to help in some way!
With that thought, Light shoots another seed!
Marco dodges by turning his torso, Light's projectile passes like a shot past his enemy!
In that small instant in which Marco dodges, in a fraction of time, William manages to find an opening in the man's defense.
With his dagger, William directs it towards his enemy's abdomen. Marco can follow his movements, but his body cannot move fast.
The blade passes through his hip, cutting through clothing and skin.
Marco is truly uncomfortable with the fight, he feels pressured, and even humiliated for being in a situation like this.
"These brats... who are they?" he wonders. "I checked all the warriors who would be in battle before attacking!" He concludes. "No... That doesn't serve as an excuse..."
There was no greater humiliation than this for him. For years, Marco built his image through a show of strength and, after all this time, he has to face two children who are putting him in a risky situation.
His entire journey so far is being challenged by two brats who haven't lived a third of what he has. It's almost an insult from fate. But, for Marco, putting the blame on "destiny" is just a way of not admitting his own incompetence.
