The day began with the soft sunlight filtering through the curtains of Allegra's new room. Despite the splendor of the garden stretching out beneath her window, she was still dealing with the lingering effects of sporadic fevers, which often left her feeling fatigued and disoriented.
Allegra started to familiarize herself with the mansion that had now become her home. Though it wasn’t excessively large, the grandeur and luxury were unmistakable. The walls were adorned with elegant works of art, and the furniture, in a classic style, offered luxurious comfort. The garden, visible from several windows, was meticulously maintained, with winding paths and a variety of flowers and plants that brought life to the space.
Asher often accompanied her, helping her understand the meaning of different objects and situations when needed. On one such occasion, Asher introduced Wolfgang and Aoi. Although Allegra initially viewed them as mere caretakers, she soon realized that Asher, Aoi, and Wolfgang were, in fact, Allegra's family. This revelation added new context to their daily interactions. However, despite this closeness, Allegra noticed that they did not share meals together beyond breakfast. Most meals were taken alone or, at times, in the company of one of them, as they always seemed busy with their responsibilities.
One day, Aoi introduced Allegra to a new visitor: Dr. Alexander. Aoi explained that Dr. Alexander would be the teacher responsible for helping her with the language. Although Allegra didn’t fully understand what Aoi was saying, she grasped that Dr. Alexander was someone important in her new life. Over time, Allegra discovered that Dr. Alexander was an educator who would teach her the language and provide her with a structure for her adaptation.
Even though she hadn’t yet mastered the language, Dr. Alexander’s lessons offered Allegra a valuable distraction from her physical and emotional discomfort. The professor used visual aids and practical exercises, which made learning easier and gave Allegra a sense of purpose.
However, the persistent fever and the challenge of adapting to her new body and environment remained significant hurdles. Dr. Alexander’s visits provided temporary relief, but Allegra still struggled to find peace in her new life. In moments of solitude, she spent time in the garden, seeking comfort in the tranquility of the natural surroundings. The plants and flowers, despite their beauty, could not replace the longing for the life she had left behind.
The day ended with Allegra, exhausted but determined, sitting in the garden, leaning on the table while observing the landscape. The soft breeze and the rustling of the leaves created a serene atmosphere, but the accumulated fatigue overtook her. Slowly, her eyelids grew heavy, and she fell asleep, resting on the table, as the sun began to set on the horizon. Although adaptation was a long and challenging process, sleep in that moment offered temporary relief to her restless and weary mind.
