Zee's colleagues took her to a vibrant and authentic Korean restaurant, known for its delectable pork belly and traditional soju. As she stepped inside, she was greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere adorned with traditional Korean décor. The restaurant buzzed with lively conversations and the tantalizing aroma of sizzling meats filled the air. Zee's eyes were immediately drawn to the grill tables, where guests grilled their own succulent pork belly, instantly whetting her appetite.
They quickly took their seats and were warmly greeted by a friendly ajumma, who guided them through the menu choices. The menu showcased a wide array of delicious Korean dishes, from savory bibimbap to spicy kimchi jjigae. Not long after, their pork belly was served alongside an array of banchan (side dishes), including kimchi, pickled vegetables, and various savory sauces.
The restaurant resonated with cheerful conversations and clinking glasses, patrons enjoying their meals and sharing laughter.
“So, Zee, this is to officially welcome you into our team and to apologize for treating you badly,” Che-U spoke up.
“It’s alright, guys, and I really appreciate the effort in welcoming me into the group. All I ask is to be treated nicely,” Zee replied, feeling a sense of warmth and acceptance.
“Of course, we will treat you with the utmost care,” Che-U assured her.
“Let’s drink to that!” Gui-Jin merrily announced.
Si-Woo took the initiative to pour everyone a glass of soju, and they all clinked their glasses together, drinking up.
“Here, let me pour you more,” Si-Woo said.
“Gwaenchana. I’m a light drinker,” Zee replied, laughing a little.
“Aha,” he nodded in understanding and proceeded to pour himself a drink, which he gulped down in one swift motion.
“Ah! Our advice to you, Zee, is to be careful around Min-Jun or you might end up like Ha-Ung,” Gui-Jin said, stuffing her mouth with meat.
“Ha-Ung?” Zee asked, confused.
“Ye,” Gui-Jin nodded. “She was the one formerly in your position. Even Do-hee here is in a delicate situation, just like you,” she said, gesturing towards Do-hee.
Zee's eyes fell on Do-hee, who nodded in confirmation. However, her curiosity was more focused on Ha-Ung, the one who had caused the scandal that was circulating online.
“Why? What really happened between him and Ha-Ung?” Zee asked, leaning in closer, eager to hear the details.
