Isrier. A big red flower that is the most beautiful flower the world has ever seen. Its petals are big and fragile, and the stem is thin, making one wonder how it can hold such a big flower standing. Even the strongest wind won’t be able to break it; however the slightest touch makes the flower wither.
The only way to harvest this flower is either by getting its seeds or by having a mage harvest it. The flower's origins is a special story amongst the mages. It was a flower crafted for the mages' use. Isrier is the best herb used in various medicines but because it's rare, not many people know about its properties.
To the raven master, me knowing this must be a shocker. So, to take away the suspicion I must give him a plausible lie.
“Some time ago I met this strange person,” I began my tale. “At first we didn’t like each other but as time went by, we became very close with one another.”
I thought about the one puppy from my childhood that got run over right in front of me and the tears welled up.
“I learned that his ancestry had mages and he somehow inherited the mages' illness. I was concerned about him but at the time I didn’t know why he fell ill. Then his grandmother, bless her soul, told me about his secret and about the herb”
The raven master gave me his handkerchief and I used it to wipe my tears. I should become an actress instead. It's not strange for people to share that they are mages to people they trust. What I fear is that he might send someone to verify my story. Luckily, I created the perfect familiar to play this friend of mine. I hope they don’t tail him for long, because he only has so much mana stored before the familiar disappears.
“I understand, miss,” he scratched the back of his head. “I’m sorry if that awoke any painful memories”
“It’s alright,” I say as I sniffle. “I’m willing to do anything for my dear friend”
This should do it, as long as they leave him until he is “healed”, my lie won’t be exposed.
Time for a new disguise… I sigh mentally.
The guildmaster then takes out a small envelope from his pants pockets and hands it to me.
“The details of your job,” he says as he walks to his desk. “Everything you need to know is in there as well as what type of proof you need to bring back to verify your completed task”
“I won’t disappoint you,” I tell him as I get up and bow down.
I turn around and put the hood over my head and exit the room.
“Interesting,” the raven guild master says in a low tone while having a smile on his face.
