I could hear the faint murmur of several people talking, but no matter how hard I tried to understand what they were saying, nothing came to mind. I only saw an image of two unfamiliar individuals discussing me. But what were they saying? I closed my eyes again, maybe I had woken up for just a few moments but I didn't know how long I had been asleep. So I tried to wake up, opened my eyes, and with a fear akin to the soul separating from the body, I jolted awake.
"Huh"
I looked around the room, which was entirely white, and the golden couches in the relatively large room shone under the light. I stood there amazed.
"Am I dreaming?"
I closed my eyes again, hoping that I would wake up from this beautiful and luxurious dream. I opened my eyes again, and with each blink, I became more certain of the reality of my situation. I pushed the blanket off me and placed my foot on a floor that seemed to be made of gold.
"This... This floor can only be found in royal palaces."
The gold used for building sacred and valuable constructions in heaven was a special type of gold that was combined with eternal magic. Due to its malleability and high durability, it was used in every construction, but only those who were excessively wealthy could access it.
"Am I in a palace?"
I raised my hands and blinked several times to confirm that I was still a six-year-old girl. At that moment, the door opened, and a servant with her head lowered, carrying a bowl filled with clear water, entered. Upon seeing me standing in the middle of the room, she stared at me with a face that seemed to have discovered a precious diamond.
"You're awake, little one."
"Ah... Where am I?"
"Inside the imperial palace. You should consider yourself lucky that the crown prince brought you here and asked the great wizards to heal you."
While placing the bowl of water on the table beside the bed, she finished her sentence and stood facing me.
"Now that you’re better, you need to get ready to thank the Emperor and the Crown Prince."
"Now?"
Upon hearing this, she furrowed her brows and then pointed at me with a loud voice.
"Yes, right now. Let's start with a bath, then your hair, and finally some beautiful fancy clothes."
"..."
The way she talked about her plan made my body shiver, but I had no will of my own at that moment, so I followed the servant woman whom I had just met. After a long time, the bath was finally over, and she started drying my hair with a white towel. She gently moved the towel on my head, as if she was caressing it. When my hair was somewhat dry, she began combing it. Initially, it hurt a bit because I hadn't properly combed my hair for a while, so the ends of my hair were slightly tangled. After passing the difficult and painful stage, the servant woman gently combed my brown locks.
"Your hair is very soft and silky. You should take care of it. I've never seen such fine and beautiful hair before. It's like I'm holding spider webs."
"..."
After finishing the second stage, she opened a wardrobe and pulled out a beautiful dress that was a combination of purple and white. It had relatively puffy sleeves and a flower instead of a button at the collar. But for a little girl who had been on the brink of death in a war, it was very expensive.
"I can't wear this. Please give me my own clothes."
"Impossible. You're going to see the suns of the empire. Do you want to look like a beggar?"
"..."
The woman was right. I had no choice but to accept the harsh reality.
I turned into a villain who mercilessly killed anyone commanded, becoming a tool for evil. Despite my death, the havoc continued, and I became a wandering spirit. Now, with a chance for redemption, I decided to change my ways. But can those who hated me become my family, and can someone hurt by me fall in love with me?
