“Well well well.. look who’s here?” Said a tall man
“Are ya lost, kid? Hahahahaha!” Said the big fat man
“Why don’t we have some fun, kid?” Said the skinny man
After they said that, they beat me hard. I thought my plan was good but it turns out that bad luck comes next. Well, this is ok compared to that orphanage. Our happy life there was bait. I can endure this.
“Hey wait a minute… I remember something.” Said the skinny man
“What is it?”said the fat man
“We can sell him! You know? The one that accepts children? That orphanage!” He replied
“Oh yeah! I remember that! We will get a lot of money in return!”said the tall man
“We will be rich!! Hahahahahahhaha” they said
‘No!! I don’t want to be back there anymore! I tried so hard to get here. I don’t want my plan to go to waste!’
They stopped talking and kept beating me while laughing. They looked at me like they were evil.
I tried to stand up even though they kept beating me but I heard something…
*Crassshhhh
A loud noise was heard. I didn’t feel a stab on my body so I looked at them to see what happened.
I saw the chubby man lying on the ground.
They stopped beating me and turned back. When they saw their companion lying on the ground, they looked somewhere to see who did the beating. When they saw him, they both attacked him.
I didn’t clearly see the fight because of the bruises and dizziness I felt after getting beaten. But I do hope that I will not go back to the orphanage. I want to escape here in this hellish place.
‘Please… I want to live… I want my revenge to come true' I said to myself and then I passed out.

(Joan’s POV)
‘Sh*t! How can I report this to madam Garnet?! I will get punished for this.’
We got to the mansion without Ben. I tell Annie and Jack of what happened outside.
“Seriously Joan?! How did this happen?! Where do your instincts go?” Annie blamed me for what happened. Annie is the one who does the laundry for the children. Jack was the gardener. All of us here are monsters disguised as humans.
We made from the flesh of madam Garnet, she is our main host. We can’t harm her even if we want because we are chained into her. If we harm her, we will be killed in an instant. She is the most powerful and above us. So we can’t do anything but obey her. If she dies, all of us will die too. And so, we are so scared of her reaction if she knew about what happened.
“I know I'm wrong! I tried to search for him but I couldn't go any further. If I go far away, I will lose those remaining kids too.” I replied
We were scared. We don’t know what we should do.
“Stay here, I'm gonna find him.”Jack said
“How? Where will you find him?” I asked
“Anywhere! My sense of smell is strong so I can find him. I think he’s not that far away. I can find him so you two, monitor them. Who knows maybe one of them will do that too.” Jack said and he left.
Now all we have to do is to wait for Jack. We still have five days remaining before the meal time.
‘I swear, if Jack found Ben. I will torture him to death.’ I said to myself.

(Ben’s POV)
I slowly opened my eyes.
‘Where am I?’ I asked myself
I slowly get up on the bed. My wounds and bruises got bandaged. I don’t know who’s the one who treats them.
I looked at the place. It's a small room. Perfect for one person.
‘But where am I? Who’s the one who saved me?’
Suddenly, the door opened.
“Oh! You’re awake!”said the man
I'm shocked by what I see. The mister who helped me break my wristband is my saviour.
“You slept well, kid. It took you three days for that beating.” He said
I'm speechless. I don’t know where to start asking. My mind is full of thoughts.
“Don’t worry kid, I won’t harm you like those monsters in the orphanage.” He said
My mind came back when I heard that.
“You know them?” I asked
He placed the food on the bed.
“I’ll tell you everything, kid. But you need to eat first.” He said
I don’t know if luck is going my way. But I need to be wary. Even though he saved me, I'm not sure if he was one of them.
“Why should I trust you?” I asked
He chuckled.
“Don’t trust me kid. Even a friend of yours will betray you someday.” He said
“My friend is gone, and she will never betray me….” I pause. I remember what I did to Jenny.
“Because of my cowardice and being weak, I let her die. I'm the one who betrayed her.” I said sadly.
We were silent for a second.
“Everyone has a reason. Maybe you don't know but that friend of yours understands why you do that.” he said
“But that doesn’t mean you let that matter go. You must get what they take from you.” He continued
“So you must eat and be strong. Your journey has started today.” he said while smiling
