With his hand on his chest, he took a breather. He has been holding his breath since he asked Dylan to come to his house to watch a movie, but only to chicken out, or should say he didn't have the guts to say it louder for him to hear it. Again, Rulan wasn't acting normal and didn't understand why he felt like this toward his close friend.
He was so confused that he wasn't paying attention and bumped into his father. "Hey, kid, you alright?" He asked, "I've been calling you since you came in. "His father had come out of the shower to see his son looking troubled. "O-oh, sorry. I've been thinking about some things….that," Rulan said, looking away and walking to his room.
"Well, I can see that, so what's up, that kiddo? " He asked him with crossed arms. "Do I need to fight someone at your school? Is anyone bullying you? " He patted his arms to flex his muscles. "Is it that Dylan kid? He's of age now that I can't go to prison!" Hearing this made his son protest with a shaking head and hands. "N-no! It's not Dylan!" He said, then thought about it. "Well, yes and no, but nothing negative!" He said in thought.
His father was now confused and put a hand on his hip. "What do you mean? "He said, then added, now getting to his face. "You doing the dirty? "He asked bluntly, which made Rulan look puzzled.
"What?"
"Oh, right, you know the sex?"
Rulan's eyes started looking left and right at the thought of what he had said, and then his face turned red. "Ah! Oh, jeez, no!"
"You sure?"
"Yes! I-I ...you know I'm going to my room to get ready for the ball, ok," The boy said, leaving the presence of his now chuckling father and going into his room. He shut the door behind him, slid down to the floor, glanced at his phone, and began leaving Dylan a message before going on his way to shower and get ready for the, oh so, exciting Halloween Ball.
Rulan might have been in the shower for some time before he came out to put on his custom, which was a ghoul. He didn't want to wear anything but a suit since it was a dance after all, but he knew his friends would fuss him over it, plus he thought it might be fun. He stared at the mirror to put on contacts that went with the custom and blinked a couple of times as his eyes started to water. As he got his eyes together, he glanced at the time and saw it was getting close for Dylan to come over to get him, and not only that, he never texted him back.
The boy texted him again and waited for him to respond, but he never did after a few minutes, making his heart skip a beat with worry. "Maybe he's in the shower. "He said to himself as he bit his bottom lip before finally calling him.
