CHAPTER7::Gifts From Family

CHAPTER7::Gifts From Family

Oct 16, 2024

Alenward clapped his hands and the next moment four very famous tapestry artisans entered carrying a folded piece of a huge tapestry. Two of the artisans held the ends of one side of the tapestry, while the other two carefully unfurled it by puling it to the side and held the other two ends exposing it to everyone. Everybody in the ballroom astonished witnessing the creation of the tapestry and talking about it.

"It's so gorgeous!"
"It almost looks like a real scene."

The tapestry unfolded a scene of a girl with long hairs sitting under a coconut tree gazing the stars reflecting onto to the ocean in the absence of the moon in the sky. The blue shades of the ocean and the sky made them feel like a part of each other only could be only differentiated through the scattered stars in the sky forming constellations as they reflected onto the ocean.

Everyone in the ballroom who were only excited to see the family drama between our parents just a moment ago were all drawn to the aesthetic creation of the tapestry. Tears welled up in Mother's eyes, her expression almost gave an impression as if her beloved is biding her a farewell.

'Yeah it's a really beautiful tapestry but......why is Mother on the verge of crying?'

Aria wondered as she along with everyone applauded to the artisans to create such a masterpiece. Aria witnessed Fisairi looking at her Mother with somewhat the same curiosity as her. Evistia soon put up a nonchalant expression on her face.

Next was Mother Fisairi's turn to present her gift to mother. She signaled two of her personal maids, who brought in a huge and a beautiful portrait which showed Mother sitting in the palace garden in a dark green gown with her reddish-brown hairs down between the flowers while her yellowish eyes which seems like a forest in the autumn season admiring the butterflies around her.

Aria along with others gave a huge applause praising portrait made by Empress Fisairi and thought to herself-

'I'll forever be jealous of Mother Fisai's paintng skills .'

Mother stood up from her place, turned towards His Majesty and Mother Fisai and gently bowed her head and slightly bent her knees while lifting her gown a few inches off the ground.

" Royal Concubine Evistia greatly appreciate His Majesty and Her Highness for presenting such beautiful gifts on her 49th birthday."

His Majesty and Mother Fisai both stood up and Fisairi bowed her head slightly and said while smiling-

"Pleasure is all ours."

This time it was Aries's turn.

"Mr. Azitez, you may come in."

Mr. Azitez is a very famous antique merchant who is known for his collection of artifacts that is difficult to find anywhere else in the world. Mr. Azitez handed over the collection of artifacts to Aries, who chose them himself to gift Mother. Aries approached Mother, knelt at her feet with his head bowed and respectfully presented the artifects to her.

"Crown Prince Aries bestow a rare collection of artifacts to Royal Concubine of Eravi honoring her a happy 49th birthday."

"Royal Concubine Evistia appreciates Crown Prince Aries's immense effort for making the event special. You may rise up."

Mother patted Aries's head holding the box of artifacts in one hand before he rose up to his feet, took a few steps back and once again bowed his head before returning to his seat beside me.

Once again the ballroom was filled with the sound of everyone's clapping. Our family's formal respectful gestures towards each other put every other gossip about how both must hate each other or both of them would'nt miss a chance to look down on one another to shame.

It was finally my turn.

"Princess Aria wishes Mother a happy 49th birthday and with His Majesty and Her Majesty's permission would like to honour her with a song on this special ocassion."

Both His Majesty and Mother Fisai nodded as a sign of permission. Once I received consent, I made my way towards the grand piano situated in the dance corner.

"Hmm...hmm..hmm...
Let your voice sing like-a-bird  in the ear-ly mornings

c
ause'-I wanna hear you like my heart beat
when I am dying from the siren of the c-r-u-el silence,

let your smile shine like it never saw the dark, for-ever
cause' I wanna see you like a daylight
when I am searching for my lost self in the b-le-ak nights.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Hmm...hmm...hmm...
say, the thousands of the questions-and-confusions
that's forming storm inside me,
will they ever feel the breeze
that's blowing over a calm ocean?

And tell me, the thousands of scars and the nightmares
that this heart of mine couldn't e-ver be free from,
will they someday find a cure like a mira-cle?

From the cries to the wind,
from the castle to the ruins....

let your voice sing like-a-bird  in the ear-ly mornings,

let your smile shine like it never saw the dark, for-ever....

cause'-I am hearing you like my heart beat

Your poetry/lyric writing is solid. The tiny errors in grammar I can excuse more/write off under that format, and you do have some good imagery.

I’d recommend having someone help read over/fix your grammar. A grammar program might also help. Keep practicing your English writing, do some more reading to get used to what sounds natural within the language.

Please don’t stop posting these. I like your story concepts and poems, and your grammar isn’t terrible, but there’s enough errors that ruined my ability to immerse myself in what you’re conveying. Please keep writing and improving.
