(Ben’s POV)

“Is he alive?” 

“I don’t think so..”

“It’s your fault! Because of your stupidity!”

“Hey!! It’s not me, It’s you who popped out of the water.. hahahaha!”

I heard a lot of voices. Voices of annoying adults. I think it’s coming from Mister and the man on the water earlier.

I opened my eyes and I saw those two. I knew it, I'm right. 

“Ohhh!! He’s alive! Hahahahaha!” Mister said

“Annoying” said the Man

I’m speechless on those two. They really get along. 

“you’re noisy.” I said and I woke up on the bed.

I looked around the place. It's another place again. But, how did we get here? If I remember, we were under the water. 

“How did we get here?” I asked

They looked at each other and Mister smiled.

“It's magic, kid! Hahahahahha!” He said

The man got annoyed and glared at Mister.

The man sighed.

“It’s a passageway.” He said

Passageway? That water?

“How?” I asked

“It’s a test. A test of courage. Only a human can enter.” He said

His explanation was too short. I don’t understand anything.

Mister stopped laughing and he started talking.

“Kid, you don’t need to understand it now. All you have to do is to live….. observe your surroundings, think what you want to do. Until you find the burn inside your heart.” Mister said while smiling at me.

“But, he’s not free to stay here. You need to know what’s the rule inside this mansion and ……. You need to meet her.” The man said

“Who's her?” I ask

“You will meet her soon.”the man said and walked outside the room.

“Stay here, kid. And eat the food we prepare there.” Mister said while pointing at the food on the table.

“Okay.” I replied

I didn’t ask for their names either. Even Mister, I didn’t know his name. I’m just following him to survive. Well, I will ask their names if I have a chance.

(Alfred’s POV)

“We need to tell that to Lady Citrine” Dean said

“I know .. I know..” I replied

That kid, when he entered the shop that day. He looked desperate. Desperate to run away. At first, I thought he was just a simple kid, a stray one. But it looks like he is involved in that orphanage. Without a doubt, I followed him and my guess was right. 

Taking him was very challenging to me. Knowing that the monster who will eat him is the same monster we obey. So I’m not hoping so much for him. I just wanted to help him recover from the trauma he faced.

We reached the door to Lady Citrine office.

*Knock knock

“Come in” said the voice

We entered her office and greet her.

“It seems like you have something to say to me, Alfred” she said

“Yes, my Lady. I’m here to report.” I replied

“Okay. Let's hear it.” She said while smiling

“A moment ago, there was a kid who escaped from the orphanage.” 

“How? How did he managed to escape?” She asked 

I tell her the story of how the kid escaped. She listened to me until the last story I said.

“Hmm.. where is the kid now?” she asked

“He's resting in one of our guest rooms.” I said

“Hmm.. is that so? If ever that kid doesn’t want to be here, don’t force him to stay. It's not easy to trust people, especially someone like me.” She said

“Yes, my lady” I replied

“Just take care of him like an ordinary boy. Let me know if he wants to leave the mansion. Find a place for him that even the people at the orphanage don't know.” she said

Lady Citrine was a twin sister of the lady who’s incharge of the monsters in the orphanage. But the difference is, lady Citrine can’t change into a monster. She's like a damaged thing. 

According to what lady Citrine tells us. She’s like a rejected product. She was one of the doctor Williams experiments. They were made to be military or new soldiers of the empire. Dr. William and the king made an agreement about that. An immortal soldier. 

Lady Citrine said that they're name was selected by birth stones. Lady Citrine and Topaz were one of the lower monsters that doctor William created. But Topaz was different. She’s ambitious and insecure to other monsters, especially to Dia. Dia was the perfect monster that Dr. William invented it, that's why she was like a diamond to Dr. William's eyes.

Topaz insecurities and jealousness arise that's why, her hate for Dia flashes to the eye on Lady Citrine. Lady Citrine who has a weak power can’t stop Topaz. Between them, Lady Citrine was more powerless than Topaz. Topaz is smart. Even though she is one of the lower powers, her intelligence was above Dia.

Because of her hate, Topaz mixed her blood with the medicine which was prescribed for Dia. It was on the little bottle where the syringe will be used. Taking too much of the monster's blood would alter their DNA and bring bad effects on them. That’s why after Dia took it, she went out of control. Dr. William had no choice but to destroy Dia. Topaz was very happy to see that and Citrine was very disappointed in her twin sister. When Dia was gone, Topaz did everything she had to become powerful and to be the center of the creations. Dr. William gave her a new name. Garnet. 

Garnet thought she was enough to Dr. William but to him, there’s no one who will replace Dia. He can’t create another Dia even though he followed the process he made when he's creating Dia. Because of that, even the king lose his trust to Dr. William and he tell him to stop creating the monsters. Dr. William got depressed about that. Due to that, Garnet continued the experiment that Dr. William failed to do so. Because of Garnet's intelligence, she makes other monsters by using her blood. Later on, Garnet’s blood became a real garnet. If it’s not used by creating monsters, Garnet lets her blood last up to two days and it will become a real garnet. Garnet thinks she doesn't need money and the other primary monsters, which are Citrine, Amethyst and Pearl. She killed them by using the experiment but she failed to kill Citrine. Citrine, who's her twin, can't die even if she wanted to. Garnet tried everything but she always failed. But later on, Garnet found out that the only thing Citrine would die for would be Garnet’s life which she doesn’t want to do. That's why Citrine was confident that Garnet couldn’t do anything to her.

So we would know that Garnet is dead if Citrine was dead too. That's a very hard task we will face. Citrine was like a mother to us. Aside from being a monster, she’s the one who takes care of us so killing Garnet was a hard decision for us too. But we don’t have a choice. We need to end those monsters before they multiply into big colonies. But going to the orphanage is like going to a lion's den. Even though we trained hard, we were nothing against monsters. 

We need to learn more about them. I hope it’s not too late.

I returned to that boy's room. I forgot to ask his name. We were together for the whole trip but I forgot to ask his name. 

“Are you done eating, kid?” I asked

“Yes I am” he replied

“Anyway, I forgot to ask. What's your name?”

“Oh! I forgot to ask you too. I'm Ben. How about you Mister?” He asked

I smiled and reached out my hand.

“I'm Alfred.”
