One bush of berries…
Two bush of berries…
Three bush of berries…
Four bush of berries…
Five bush of berries..
He had turned once to see Allie sleeping once again, likely what she would be doing most of this trip. He had began to worry less of her as they traveled through the forest of giant trees. She was certainly odd, yes, but not odd enough to worry about in the current moment. Now, well, he was more focused on exiting this forest. A twig snapping there, a bird chirping in that tree, an animal making noise, and the sound of a river.
It was all both creepy and beautiful sounds, though to Noah, it was not. He hoped it would be over as quickly as possible.
…Eight bush of berries…
Nine bush of berries…
Ten bush of berries…
Eleven bush of berries…
He knew however, Sara had a good sense of danger. She would alert him if she noticed an animal, such as a wolf or a bear. He had a rifle in the wagon, to use against any predators or perhaps bandits. He had not thought, however, that the strange woman was also in the wagon. He turned to see her still sleeping, her blonde hair waving in her face as a gentle breeze passed them.
Leaving a firearm by a possible criminal was not the brightest idea Noah had, and yet, he did not worry all too much. By this point he had assumed Allie was merely a runaway indentured servant. Twas none of his business in the slightest.
The hour went by as Allie had woken up and merely watched the trees from where she sat at the back of the wagon. She held a sorrowful expression. Her presence here had made Noah feel a bit at ease. He sat controlling the wagon along with Sara, listening to many birds in the spring season. Allie did not seem much as a talker, which Noah felt incredibly grateful for.
Soon, in the next few days, he would arrive in Kowa and be forced to deal with a rather annoying individual.
Leo… I hope he is ill.
He wondered how Allie would get along with him. She would likely be traveling with them for a two weeks or so after arriving in Kowa.
He thought and thought so much that time seemed to speed up once again despite being in a forest in which caused him to sweat a great deal. He would love to bathe in the lake that was nearby after they would exit this large forest into more spaced out tree lines.
Allie suddenly coughed, startling Noah. He twisted his body to see her as their eyes met until she looked away.
“You may sit up here if you’d like. I was a great deal concerned you were a criminal, I do not believe so anymore.”
Noah wasn’t entirely sure why he said what he did, from her point of view, he must seem as though he might be dangerous.
Surely Allie must be weary if she would even make it to Koiki, and yet she had fallen asleep twice.
And then when he turned once again, her eyes were closed once again - she appeared to be sleeping once more. Or just perhaps ignoring any conversation that came in her direction.
