She did not wake yet, so he touched her shoulder which caused her to instantly awake with wide eyes.
“My apologies, Ms. Allie, I did not mean to frighten you, there is a storm, we must seek shelter.”
He pointed to it, before stepping down, and looking down the trails, spotting the caves.
He began to unhook Sara off the wagon.
“Wait here, Ms. Allie! I shall return in a moment!” He shouted out as he led Sara quickly to the cave, stepping on twigs and branches.
He began to feel raindrops as he rushed back to the wagon, hoping he would not have to abandon the flour, the goods he was supposed to be delivering to a baker in Kowa. He pulled out his personal bags from the bottom shelf of the wagon, pushing them aside before reaching his hand out to help Allie.
She reluctantly accepted his aid of getting out of the wagon, before grabbing the bags to the side, his possessions, including his prized novels. Noah grabbed two bags of flour, hoping to save even just a few.
“Thank you, Ms. Allie! There is a cave right up that trail!”
He pointed quickly, hearing her move away, he looked up at the sky once again, hearing the intense howling of wind as it began to pour.
The tree’s pushed back and forth, and back and forth, in a constant motion. In the distance he could see several begin to fall with the intense wind. He tossed the flour back in the wagon, realizing it wasn’t worth it anyways, and pulled down the covers fully on all sides, before removing the bolts from the wheels and pushing it into the dirt, hoping to prevent the wagon from falling over or flying away. Then he ran into the cave like his life depended on it as the lightening and thunder grew closer.
It was a rather small cave, perhaps ten or twelve meters in all. Just enough for Sara, Allie, Noah, and a fire. He spotted her leaning against the cave wall petting Sara, who seemed distressed.
He turned once to look at the wagon, as it seemed fine. Perhaps the heavy and now wet bags of flour prevented it from falling over. However it seemed as though the clouds were just dumping buckets and buckets of rain. It poured so much the trail leading to the main road began to turn into a river.
