"What's going on?" Jacob asked someone that just left this store.

"Haven't you heard? They found that illegal gang that kept stealing from all of us, but one of them ran off! They said that they shot this person in the leg and that they should have the serpent tattoo on their shoulder, so they are checking anyone that comes in."

"Ok, thank you," Jacob said while turning to face everyone else.

Leah's face went pale. She looked at Kai nervously but he patted her shoulder and told her that he has a plan.

"Good morning! For security reasons, we need to check if you have a gunshot wound on your leg and for the serpent tattoo." 

After the boys went through, it was Leahs turn.

She noticed Kai walk up to the officer and whisper something in his ear, then the officer nodded.

"Good morning, ma'am. We just have to check your shoulder." 

Confused, she lifted her sleeve and looked at Kai.

"All good, ma'am! Have a wonderful rest of your day!."

As everyone starts to walk, Leah slows down to Kai's pace.

"What did you say?" Leah asked Kai.

" I just told him that you had surgery on your leg so he agreed to just check your arm." Kai whispered.

Leah smiled.

" Ok, two of us needs to go with Leah to help her find some stuff for herself, and everyone else needs to go get groceries."

After they decide that Leo and Joshua will go with Leah, Jacob goes with Kai to get some groceries.
