Chapter 2: the secret
He decides to make his way through true crowds of people. He follows the boat as he’s taller compared to the elf’s. The girl has long curly red hair and dark skin, she has the same red as his wife, well late wife. The king or emperor next to her would be mistaken as a women. He has long curling hair and long robes of red and gold with white taking the majority of the space.
Benji walks almost chasing it as he accidentally topples over someone, he doesn’t look like the rest, he has sharp hair with it being black, he wears a dark hood. Benji ignores it, until he notices the man looking directly into his eyes, Benji a red eyes. Maybe there worth a lot, the strange man thinks. Benji looks back seeing the boat isn’t there anymore as he stands there lost, he thinks about his wife, his kid, his home. Is it really all gone? One day he was living a peaceful life, now he’s lost in who knows where by a who knows what.
Later in the sands he decides to take a walk as he notices the princess walking around pretending to be a normal person, but he doesn’t forget a face. He grabs her by her shoulders picking her up from the ground as she squeaks yelling something Benji can’t understand. But he notices something, a bruise. A newly fresh bruise on her eyelid, must’ve been recent. He drops her making her fall on her knees as he points at her bruise.
She looks up surprised saying what Benji comprehends as gibberish. Benji points at her making a crown with his hands to symbolize that he knows she’s a queen. She notices as he says something about the king. She says something about wanting to be with her true love, away from king, away from hurt. She continues in hand gestures, secret, running away, for love, to be happy. Happy, that feeling lingers in his head a bit. Their somewhat conversation is cut by the yells of guards. The queen looks scared as Benji steps in front of her. Benji thinks about his wife , he would’ve wanted her to be happy, why can’t this women be happy?
The king is along as Benji sees the women escape as he steps forward. The guards and king yell at him , Benji stands there as the king orders something along the lines of , death.
The guards shove their axes into his body , red glimmering blood pouring and gashing out. Benjis body falls onto the ground in the pitch and dark night only being lit by the fire and lights of the town. The guards and king continues to walk.
His wife, Maria, she was kind, she was fun, but most of all , she was loving. She wore her heart on her sleeve. When her family disapproved of Benji, she followed her heart. Following your heart, being with the one you love most even if there are sacrifices. She’d even fight to help someone with their love.
Benji gets up, the guards turn to see him, a tall unknowing man, who is supposed to be dead, standing there in front of them. Benji comes at them stealing an ax as he wings it once, then twice, then again and again. Soon the previous guards looked like mush in the ground, like an animal had eaten its prey and left it out. The king looks at Benji as he takes his final breath.
