Kai looked up at the house he and his mother shared with a smile. It feels so good to finally be home. I could only imagine how she feels right now. I bet she'll feel less stressed out after she sees my face, he thought as he walked up the steps and pushed the door open.
Kai turned his head to the left when he heard water running in the kitchen. "Mom, didn't I tell you not to overwork yourself?" he scolded her lightly.
Tears welled up in his mother's eyes before she ran toward him and hugged him tightly. "I thought you weren't coming home and that something bad happened to you!" she sobbed, staining his shirt with tears.
Kai softly patted her back to ease her nerves. "I'm sorry for making you worry. From now on, I promise not to do any more dangerous jobs. So, you no longer have to stress over me," he stated.
His mother pulled back, sniffling. She reached up to wipe the tears streaming down her face with her index finger. "You better promise me. I don't think my heart can take much more," she said with a soft smile as her crying finally died down.
"Why don't you get some sleep, and I'll clean up the dishes?" Kai suggested, giving her a gentle nudge to leave the room.
She nodded her head but paused before she completely left. "You better make sure to scrub all the food off those dishes. Otherwise, I'm going to be pretty mad," she playfully teased before heading upwards.
"Oh, don't worry, I'll be sure to," Kai said with a big grin on his lips. The second she left the room, his smile was quickly replaced with a frown. He placed his arms on the counter and leaned his face into his hands. Why do I feel so damn dizzy? Is it because of that blood in my system? he wandered while holding his face.
Kai weakly stared up at the ceiling from the counter. It abnormally spun around in a circle, making everything nothing more than one big blur that he couldn't keep up with. I think I'm going to throw up, he mentally whined.
He hunched over, throwing up all the food he had remaining in his stomach all over the floor, staining it in a black color. His heart accelerated as he stared at the black liquid on the floor. He took a step back as his entire body started to tremble in fear. It's probably just a small side effect and nothing to worry about. I am sharing my body with another person or thing now, he thought, letting out a nervous chuckle.
Unable to contain his anxiety any longer, he ran out of the house and slammed the door behind him. "Damn it!" he whined under his breath when he forgot to close the door quietly like he always did. He let out a loud sigh before walking down the street.
Kai eventually tucked his hands into his pockets when another cold breeze passed by him, chilling him to the bone. He froze in place when Fake Kai wrapped his arms around him from behind and whispered into his ear, "Hey, isn't that the lousy boss that never pays you well enough for all the hard work you do, even though you constantly do jobs that could claim your life at any second?" Fake Kai asked.
Kai glanced over his shoulder to make eye contact with Fake Kai. "It is my boss, and sure, he is kind of an asshole, but if it wasn't for him. I wouldn't have been able to buy my mother any medicine," he pointed out, only causing Fake Kai to chuckle out loud.
Fake Kai released him and twirled around him, blocking his path. He reached out and cupped Kai's face. "I say we make him pay for everything he's done toward you," he suggested with a dark look in his eyes.
Kai moved back, breaking out of his hold. "Yeah, right. I'm not interested in killing him if that's what you're thinking. The scientists were bad enough!" he shouted, causing Fake Kai to roll his eyes in frustration.
"If you don't do it, then I will," Fake Kai whispered softly, causing Kai to squeeze his eyes shut for a moment. When Kai reopened his dark green eyes, his right eye changed to blue.
Kai quietly walked over to the man who was leaning against the wall, smoking like he typically did. "Hey, boss, got any work for me?" he asked, moving closer without giving away what his intentions were.
"What are you talking about? I already told you on the phone to steal two cars for this week without a scratch on them. Why the hell are you playing stupid right now? Are you mocking me?" the man said angrily as he dropped his cigarette. He stepped on it to put it out.
Kai cocked his head to the side with a dumbfounded look on his face. "Wait? Am I the stupid one? But you clearly can't be the smart one, and then you have other people doing the work for you. You're not skilled enough to steal a car like I can," Kai cockily proclaimed with a smug grin.
The man ground his teeth in irritation. His blood slowly started to boil. "The hell did you say to me!" the man roared and threw his right fist forward, aiming to strike the right side of Kai's face.
Kai playfully jumped back and spun in a circle. "You missed me, boss! You might want to try again. But, then again, if you're so smart, you shouldn't need another try," he mocked before moving to the left to avoid the man's kick.
A smug grin appeared on Kai's lips. "See? You're much too slow. Hell, I don't even know how you're the boss of anything. I can't believe I did all that work for you over the years," Kai moved to the left and right, avoiding the man's infuriated punches.
Kai was about to open his mouth before his head flung back slightly when the man's punch connected with his cheek, sending him flying to the ground. He reached up to touch his cheek only to wince in pain.
"This is your damn problem. You never know when to shut up. Instead of following orders, all you do is whine about every damn thing. You know what I think? I think I should beat it out of you!" the man threatened with a dark look in his eyes. Without warning, he swiftly kicked Kai in the gut, causing him to cry out in pain.
Kai clutched onto his stomach and curled up into a ball to protect himself from the man who repeatedly kicked him. Kai bit into his lower lip as pain coursed through his body like a virus, taking control of all his senses.
The man kicked him one last time before moving back. "I don't understand why you pick fights you can't win. This is why you have constantly lost jobs over the years!" the man barked, getting ready to strike Kai again, but only for his eyes when he got kicked in the leg.
The man didn't have time to process the pain when he felt the bones in his right leg shatter; where Kai managed to kick him, sending him tumbling to the ground. The man stared up at Kai in fear as he rose to his feet; he immediately noticed his different-colored eyes. "What the hell did you do to my leg, and why the hell do you have a different colored eye?!" the man shouted in fear as he crawled backward.
Kai was about to punch the man but halted. "Man, you're not even worse my time, boss. Just so you know, I quit, and if you ever crossed paths with me, you're going to be sorry," he stated with a coldness in his eyes. He turned on his heels and walked away.
Kai took in rapid breaths as he struggled to take control of his personality, which was fluctuating all over the place. He shook his head and took in deep breaths to calm himself down. "Cut it out, Fake Kai, I mean it! Stop trying to take complete control over my body!" Kai screamed into the cold night air.
"Why are you blaming me for all this? You are the one who offered to share your body with me. But then again. It wasn't like you had much of a choice after all," Fake Kai said with a grin as he appeared before Kai.
Kai shook his head and looked up at Fake Kai with rage-filled eyes. "This isn't what I wanted. I'm not interested in hurting people!" he barked, only causing Fake Kai to grin.
"Well, that isn't my fault now, is it? Just remember, this whole thing could've been avoided if you decided not to play one dice game. So, tell me again, whose fault is it really?" Fake Kai mocked.
