“Lily step back!” Sammy pauses, “are you even Lily”
She questions waving the knife around lifting the rest of the knives into the air around her dropping the knife block to the ground
“Lily was a unicorn, and just awakened her talent” Sammy mutters to herself “there is no way you are Lily”
“Sammy, listen to me” Lily clenches her fist, stepping back, noting Sammy on guard
“I already knew I was talented” Lily gulps, before sighing “I never told anybody except one person and even he doesn’t know what my talent is”
Sammy noting the genuine expression in Lily’s eyes “even you’re brother”
“He cannot be trust” Lily shakes her head “talents can be exploited, even before I awakened any of my achievements were used for something else so when I learned of talents, I hid them”
Lily steps closer to Sammy, “I never meant to deceive you nor Junior, but when I realized talents were after you and Junior I couldn’t just hide anymore”
“The talent that is after you, he is bad news Sammy” Lily’s tone stern, and her gaze fixed “You must trust me on this, I don’t want anything to happen to you and Junior”
“Why? You barely know us” a voice sparks from behind them.
“Junior, you’re awake” Sammy drops the knives in the air, still holding the one in her hand, as she runs over to Junior.
“I- I can’t hear your thoughts, so I want to know” Junior, with a look of betrayal “what do you want from us”
With a look of hurt, Lily sighs “for a lack of better words, no matter how unbelievable, you were the first two people in a long time that actually wanted to talk with me, and have fun”
Lily explains taking a seat sit in the recliner “You didn’t try to control me, or aske6d about my life in a condescending manner, you both were genuine and sincere” Lily rubs her nose bridge “the last time who did that…” Lily paused as her voice cracks. “Ahem- it’s been awhile since”
Lily looks at the two with a glazed gaze “why were you two so inclined to worry for me” Lily question “you look betrayed and hurt at me potentially being your enemy, but it’s the same, we just met”
Sammy shifts away “well I… you saved us a few time” she clears her throat “it just hurts think you did that just to earn our trust”
Lily chuckles “but what would be the point” she tilts her head “you said it yourselves, your parents found something not the two of you” Lily ponders “what would be the point of getting your trust when it was your mother who dropped you off”
“It’s not just that” Junior lips press as he parts his lips “we already got betrayed by an old family friend” Junior stares right at Lily “we can’t take another betrayal”
Lily nods “I understand” she stands up, holding her hand to Junior “and I am not expecting you to trust me completely yet” Lily smiles soft “but I am asking you to trust me right now, we have to leave”
“Wait- “Sammy chimes in blocking Junior from taking her hand “what is your talent, as you might know, knowing another’s talent is like holding a talent’s life in your hands”
“That- “Lily shuffles “ah” rubbing the perplexed expression away “that’s a little to difficult to answer right now”
“Difficult?” Sammy notes
“Right now?” Junior questions
“yes difficult right now” Lily clarifies “I will tell you what I can when I can but- “Lily shifts “we have to g- “Lily shuffles away from the door “you have to hide right now” Lily guides the two into her room pulling the mattress from the headframe exposing a little cubie “a little obvious and childish but works wonders, now hide”
Sammy and Junior duck and climb into the bed frame, hugging their knees as Lily pushes the mattress back into place before going to the living room standing before the fire escape.
“BANG!”
“CRASH”
“SMASH”
“Well, well, if I live and breathe”
Junior flinches hearing a familiar voice “it’s the man who took me” he whispers to Sammy.
Sammy waving his words away as she puts her finger to her lips, insinuating to shush.
“You have no right to be here, Quinn” Lily snips as two men grab her.
“Now, is that anyway to speak to your father” Quinn snickers “your mother tells me you have no interest in love, you break her heart in so many ways”
“How so” Lily sneers “it was you all that decided my worth when we found out I have no talent”
“First no talent, then no grandbabies” Quinn smirks “yet, now I learn that second was a lie”
Lily flinches seeing Quinn’s sinister smirk “w- what do you mean”
“Oh, don’t play a fool” Quinn holds up a photo “he always did hold you close to his heart”
Lily’s eyes widen seeing the photo of her and Ethan “What did you do to him!”
“Don’t worry my dear daughter” Quinn drops the photo to the ground, stepping on it as he nears Lily “your boyfriend will be just fine” He shrugs “after all I would hate to see my dear daughter cry, but- “Quinn takes a seat in the recliner “your boyfriend for those two brats”
A short time before Quinn arrived at Lily’s place,
“Kroff” feeling a fist pummels into his stomach “Ptui”
“You just couldn’t keep your hands off the boss’s daughter” a man smirks “but who knew the boss’s daughter would be that plain jane from before” he shrugs.
His taunts work leading Ethan to struggle and slam his shoulder into the man’s side, “You’re enjoying this too much Oliver” Ethan’s snarky smirk as he spits out blood, rubs Oliver the wrong way.
“You always did piss me off” Oliver slams his knee into Ethan’s chin “perhaps this will wake you up a bit”
As Oliver beats Ethan, Ethan snaps his thumbs and wrists “wow, your super regeneration is something of envy” Oliver snicker “though I doubt you think so at this point”
“I can be sure to be grateful for my talents at all times” Ethan grins, slamming his forehead into Oliver’s knocking him out clean.
“To bad your talent of warping can’t warp you a decent brain” Ethan snips slipping the anti-talent restraints on Oliver before taking the keys off his belt
“Thanks, buddy I will be sure to put these to good use” Ethan steps over Oliver, leaving the room as he wipes the blood from his chin.
“Hang on Lily! I’m coming” Ethan quickly rushes out the door before running into a woman “Becca?” His tone almost grumbling.
“Oh, don’t be that way babe” Becca smirks “you turned me down remember”
“I already told you” Ethan brushes his hair back “I was and still am taken”
“Ah yes, the ever so loyal man” Becca snickers as she clumps a force field right beside Ethan knocking him to the side “still loyal to the wrong woman, I see”
Ethan gets knocked into the wall, as he tries to balance himself Becca forms another field behind him slamming into the ground. Becca steps closer as her heels stomps on his hand causing him to groan
“Hm, a screaming man is always interesting to see” she crouches in front of Ethan “but I wonder what would I take to see you cry” Becca smirks brushing his wispy hair out of his eyes “perhaps, if that precious girl of yours were cold and lifeless in your arm-“
“You touch one hair on her” Ethan clasps her throat slamming her into the wall “I will end you myself” he pulls her from the wall, she still in his grasp as he slams her into the wall knocking her unconscious.
Meanwhile, Sammy and Junior are hiding under the headboard hearing the whole conversation “the man after us, is her father?” Sammy’s eyes widen “there is no way she doesn’t rat us out”
Junior, blank expression as he listens in “she… she’s got a boyfriend” Junior mutters “of course she will choose him over me”
“That’s what you’re thinking about” Sammy holds back from kicking him “you had no shot to begin with”
“that’s not what I mean” Junior scoffs “I mean that he is probably the only one she told about her talent”
Sammy recalls Lily saying she only told one person but even he doesn’t know of her talent completely “right, so we really have no choice here”
They both clench their fists, with a grim expression, as they hold their breath listening to Lily’s answer.
“You… you promise you wont hurt them” Lily squeaks leading to the Sammy to bite her nail and Junior to clench his fist. “You have to promise”
Quinn grins with a snicker in his tone “yes, my beautiful flower, I promise the kids will not be harmed”
Lily sighs, with a grim expression, as she avoids Quinn’s gaze “they are…”
