Azurae walks with the large creature watching as it ignores his presence, “Hey, you giant bony bastard, howw dare you ignore me, Azurae Flournzire!” Nonetheless, no response. Azurae clicks his tongue as he follows the creature watching as it dusts and cleans the decaying library. “You’re gonna need more than just that if you wanna clean this place.”
The creature continues to dust the bookshelf. Its bones continue to pop and creak as it moves, strangely enough it’s gestures are quite fluid. Azurae looks around the decomposed library before taking a seat near the creature. “This place must have been pretty. I can only imagine how cool it could have looked.” For the first time the creature acknowledges his presence handing him another duster. Azurae smiles at the creature and begins dusting competitively against the creature.
Azurar looks back noticing the librarian is frozen solid with a low groan escaping its hollowed shroud. “Hey, you okay?” Azurae asks. He reaches toward the Librarian but it releases a blood-curling scream that shakes the area. “Hey, you okay?” Azurae reaches toward the creature but is backhanded into a set of boockshelfes that fall over and crush him beneath it’s weight.
It releases another scream before getting low to the ground. It scuttles in Lori’s direction as it continues to screech.
“What the hell is that!?” Lori shouts pulling the book from it’s pedestal. He’s seemingly snapped from his trance and hears Nipsy calling his name. The screeching stopps and the moment stands still for what feels like forever. The dripping of water echoes in the chamber as the low rumble of popping bones slowly grows creeping around Lori with every second. The silence is broken by the destruction of a bookshelf the librarian cleaves in half with a sickle. He towers over Lori, his oppressive aure bears a unseen weight that forces him to shove the book and rose into Nipsy’s hand and protects her. The Librarian swiftly slides down the bookshelf and his eyes meet Lori’s. He glares at him and looks deeply into his soul as it’s shroud exposes five more arms each holding a sickle. It lets out another screech causing Niposy to shift into her feline form and leap atop Lori’s shoulder.
He takes of with his lightning skates turning the corner at breakneck speeds. He races to the top of a flight of stairs and races alon its balcony. The Librarian however leaps atop a bookshelf and breaks the balcony in two. It grabs hold of Lori’s leg keeping him in place as it raises the blue lantern to its face. It’s eyes glow ominously as a click echoes in the vast emptiness of the room unleashing a river of blue flame at him. Azurae bursts forth between Lori and the librarian with a flame of his own, erupting with a roar. He overpowers the flame and forces the librarian to crash into the ground below. “Back off you freak!” He laughs alout turning back to Lori and Nipsy.
“You two look so scared–” The librarian reaches through the smoke, its bony and decaying hand grips Azurae’s face, pulling him into the debris below. Lori steps back but soon after collecting himself he tosses Nipsy across the balcony ordering her to find an exit. He looks over the edge before leaving into the dust cloud. It seems the wood and books became brittle, transforming them into a chalk like substance and upon breaking them caused them to turn to dust. An astute observation by Lori; however, it doesn't seem to help when a dragonborn is thrown into him. Azurae, refusing to yield shoots back toward the librarian with cries of anger and pain. Following closely are bolts of lighting aimed dead center at the librarian. Much to their surprise he wrurths his body cracking his joints in unusual ways to them.
He throws Azurae into Lori once again before the arc of his sickle aims to cut them down. Lori summons bolts of lightning from his hands before leaping atop them skating away, he shoots up a bookshelf and the librarian follows closely nearby. He kicks the bolts at the librarian which explodes on impact. Swiping the smoke from its face, Azurae clears the way and reels his fist into its shroud; however, what Azurae wasn't counting on was for the creature to twist its body with Azurae’s momentum to jam his sickle through his shoulder. It’s ripped from his arm as he is tossed to the side. His helpless body falls into another bookshelf leaving Lori to confront the librarian. Lori readies himself before rushing the beast but it’s no use, the librarian swings each sickle with precision and swiftness. Lori's speed and agility are outmatched as gashes and cuts mark him countless times. The Librarian lifts him with a sickle dangling his body for a moment before throwing him from the bookshelf. He’s sent crashing into the ground and quickly regains himself. He spins onto his back using lightning charged kicks to deflect the sickles coming his way, he rolls on his back dodging another swipe and leaps above another before getting punched in the nose. Lori is sent flying and the librarian is in hot pursuit.
Azurae lifts his damaged body from the debris. He feels weak and frail, something he wishes to never feel. He should be strong, weak people don't kill the Hero of Aisenhower and they certainly don't die in weak little dungeons.
He covers his hand in his signature red scaled dragon gauntlets and slams his fists into the ground before sparking them together. “I refuse to die here!”
intercepting the creature he digs his fist into its gut only to be met by the clanking of bones. The librarian is pushed back and Azurae raises his fist in pure defiance. A screech befalls the room once again and the Librarian’s eyes glow a heavy crimson as he rushes Azurae, he swings his sickles with an ever increasing speed and Azurae just barely manages to block them with his gauntlets. Over time his speed manages to only increase as Azurae is knocked down. He raised his arm but a sickle pierced the dragon scales moving straight through his arm.
Azurae has never seen anything like this, he sat completely shocked by the sickle as blood drips from his arm. He's hoisted into the air and slammed into the ground once more,
His body leaks like a broken faucet and his body feels as if it can no longer move. Even his breaths are pained and forced. The librarian retracts two of its six arms and returns them with a scythe. He raises it overhead and drags it down to Azurae’s body. Lori in the nick of time swoops in pulling Azurae out of harm's way before throwing his limp body into a wall. The librarian raises his lantern to its mouth and a click echoes from it once again. A river of flame flows once again, the enigmatic form of liquidated flame perplexes Lori and he is ultimately caught in it’s stream. He falls to a knee but the librarian uses its scythe to hook Lori by the leg and toss him into the wall with Azurae.
It then dashes toward the two; however, Azurae shoves Lori into a bookshelf as the Librarian shoves the scythe through his gut and lifts him into the air. With a pained groan, blood quickly fills his mouth. He’s flung through the air onto a balcony and left to croak. The librarian shrieks once more but its eyes look around shifting for where the book could be. It's eyes shift and twitch until finally it locks onto something past them. The creature scales bookshelves and leaps across balconies as it moves away.
Azurae rises gripping his wound, “Wheres he going?!”
Wincing, Lorin rolls over, “N-nipsy,” He coughs. “W-we need to find her, she has the book. It wants her.”
“We?” He spat, “Piss off loverboy, you’ve been in my way this whole time. I’m gonna hit that thing really, REALLY hard, you just get the girl.”
With each labored breath Azurae forces himself from the cold and unforgiving floor. Despite their suffering and injuries they find the strength to rise once more. They race to the librarian’s creaking body and catch him in a high pursuit against Nipsy. She leaps across bookshelves and he does the same. She slaps him away with a conjured hand of shadow but he repeatedly bounces back unscathed.
“Nipsy!” Lori shouts.
“Sir, I found the exit, it’s straight ahead to the right, go without me!” She tosses the book over the librarian and Lori grabs hold of it.
“Nipsy!” He shouts.
“It was a pleasure serving you sir.”
As the librarian barrels down upon Nipsy, Azurae intercepts the notion, “Are you two stupid as shit! He grabs Nipsy and tosses her into Lori. “Now go you dumbasses, I’ll beat the hell out of this thing–”
He did not, in fact, beat the hell out of anything. As a matter of fact, the librarian slashes his body several times over and shatters his gauntlets before slams his head into the ground below. Lori leaps into the fray once more, kicking the librarian into a set of bookshelves before Nipsy grabs them both with a hand of shadow. As they are carried off the Librarian moves desperately throwing book shelves and crawling along the walls.
As it picks up speed, hope becomes a distant dream, far from this nightmare. It leaps over them as its cloak lifts exposing the dozens of bones wiggling and twisting beneath its flesh as if a crockpot of all that's hideous was made within this amalgamation. Lori and Nilsy scream in terror but Azurae releases a deafening roar that shakes the room. Fire erupts inches from his maw engulfing the creature in a blazing inferno.
The librarian writhes in agony as the flames consume its cloak, furthermore exposing the horrors underneath: long, twisted limbs covered in rotting black flesh and a writhing cloak of shadows that recoils from the light. Tearing at its own flesh, the creature's backbends and twists unnaturally, two asymmetrical wings bursting forth amidst a cacophony of snaps and cracks. With a guttural roar, it lifts itself into the air, crashing into the nearest wall before launching itself toward the trio.
"We... We can still fight it..." Azurae reaches toward the creature, his eyes still ablaze, "We can't just... Run away."
