Life remained this way for a while until their mother got worse. She started having to take stronger meds and be on bed rest more. Their father was more angry and irritated by the ramblings of his wife who was getting worse and draining lots of money for treatment. Eventually he called his family for financial assistance. This led to the oldest man of the family to come to the house. The man looked very young and had a strange air of magic around him. All of them called him grandfather. The man came around very often, spending lots of time also teaching Naken stronger magic. 

   Naken would beg his grandfather to let his big sister Natalia join them in learning. Their grandfather wasn't as keen on teaching Natalia strong magic but taught her basics. It was found Naken himself had a strong affinity to magic which made his grandfather very happy. Especially since his father wasn't per say good at using his strong magic ability. This only created more issues between Naken and his father, especially seeing how much the family leader had taken to the boy. This in turn made his father be harsher on him especially because of how he was seemingly the perfect child for their family. Taking shots at how feminine he was and how he had to stop being babied by the women. It led to Naken's father saying he would take up physical training using it as an excuse to exercise his authority over the boy. Sometimes hurting him badly during this training. Their grandfather didn't interfere much due to him telling Naken this is an obstacle he has to overcome if he wants to be a strong magician. 

However Natalia absolutely hated this and would argue against the cruel treatment. She would constantly go to pull their father away from Naken and take the boy to her room to get treatment and sleep. She started to fight their father after a point telling him he's disgusting for doing this to a young boy. Natalia would even try to get their mother to convince their father he was wrong
