Wang Hai’s words dropped like a thunderclap, leaving the previously jubilant crowd stunned silent. As everyone looked at Wang Hai in disbelief and then at Lin Zhiming, confusion was written all over their faces. Since when was this soft-spoken manager of Yaojin Capital referring to Lin Zhiming as "boss"?
"What... what is going on?!" Shen Hongyue exclaimed in shock, turning to Wang Hai, "Mr. Wang, you must be mistaken, right?"
"How could I possibly mistake my boss?" Wang Hai replied with a smile.
The room went silent again. Yaojin Capital’s boss? The thought sent a new shockwave through the gathered crowd. How had this once feeble and ineffective Lin Zhiming transformed into the owner of Yaojin Capital?
With a faint smile, Lin Zhiming stepped forward, holding the acquisition contracts in his hands. Walking directly to the chair at the head of the table, he took his seat—the first time he had ever sat in this place of authority. Looking around at the stunned executives and board members, he waved them off dismissively.
“You can all leave now. Lin Group belongs to me.”
The executives, who had long looked down upon Lin Zhiming, finally grasped the reality of the situation. Yaojin Capital, the entity that had just poured billions into acquiring Lin Group, belonged to none other than Lin Zhiming himself.
"Lin Zhiming, how can you be the owner of Yaojin Capital? Where did you get the money for this?" Shen Hongyue screeched, pointing an accusing finger at him.
“Money?” Lin Zhiming chuckled. “Wang Hai, escort her out of my company.”
“Yes, sir.” Wang Hai nodded, and his men immediately dragged Shen Hongyue from the conference room.
In the eerie silence that followed, Lin Zhiming looked around at the remaining managers and shareholders. “So, do you want to be thrown out or walk out yourselves?” He watched them with cold intensity, and they quickly exited the room one by one, faces filled with questions they dared not voice aloud.
“Congratulations, boss, for the patience to bide your time and take over the entire Lin Group in one swift move,” Wang Hai praised.
“A small step, really. If I hadn’t cared about the company my father built, Lin Group would already be in ruins. But the real game is just beginning.” Lin Zhiming laughed, savoring the thought of the look on their faces when Lin Group soon rose to worth far beyond what they sold it for.
Just then, his phone rang. Seeing an unknown number, he picked up.
"Lin Zhiming, I’m Song Siqing, Yao Jing’s friend. If you’re a man, come to Tianjiao Corp. right now. Yao Jing is being bullied here, right in the conference room!" The call cut off as quickly as it had started.
Putting away his phone, Lin Zhiming stood up and headed out. “To Tianjiao,” he instructed.
Meanwhile, inside Tianjiao Corp., Song Siqing hung up with a smug smile. If Lin Zhiming didn’t show up, she’d tell Yao Jing he didn’t care, pushing her toward a divorce. If he did come, it would be even better—Yao Jing’s family would surely shame him publicly, leading to the same outcome.
Ten minutes later, Lin Zhiming’s car pulled into the parking lot. He received a message from his assistant.
"Yao Jing is in a meeting with her family. No signs of anyone bothering her. Song Siqing did try to push Yao Jing toward divorce this morning.”
“Understood.” Lin Zhiming closed the message and headed toward the elevator.
Seeing him arrive, Song Siqing’s surprise showed on her face. She hadn’t expected this weak-willed man to actually show up. Yet her satisfaction grew as she imagined what would come next.
“Right this way, they’re in the office!” she said excitedly, leading him down the hall.
Lin Zhiming approached the conference room, hearing Yao Jing’s voice from inside. “Divorce Lin Zhiming? Impossible!” Her words were firm, resolute.
“Jingjing, the Lin family has lost its value to us. If you stay married, it could drag us down. So, for the good of the family, you should separate from him,” said her mother, Zhou Yanqiu.
"Mom, I’ve made up my mind. I won’t divorce." Yao Jing's voice carried her unwavering determination.
At that moment, Lin Zhiming’s resolve solidified. Grabbing the door handle, he pushed open the door and entered.
The room was filled with Yao family members, all of whom stopped and turned as he entered.
“Oh, look who it is—the Lin family’s illustrious son-in-law!” Yao Shanchuan, Yao Jing’s cousin, sneered.
Yao Jing immediately rose, walking over to him. “Why did you come here?” she whispered.
“Someone told me my wife was being bullied,” he said softly.
“Oh, please, Lin Zhiming. Your family’s on the brink of ruin, and you think you can still act tough here?” Yao Shanchuan mocked him with a smirk.
Lin Zhiming remained unfazed. “Since you consider my family worthless, then from now on, all partnerships between Lin Group and Yao Corp. are terminated.”
The Yao family members burst into laughter.
“Lin Zhiming, are you out of your mind? Lin Group is on the verge of collapse. You think we need your partnerships?” Yao Shanchuan taunted.
Lin Zhiming merely pulled out his phone and made a call. “Terminate all partnerships with Yao Corp. effective immediately.”
But then, Yao Tianlong, the patriarch of the Yao family, received a call. Everyone fell silent as he took it. After a long pause, he finally lowered the phone, looking at Lin Zhiming in shock.
“You... you just spent a billion to acquire every share in Lin Group?” he stammered.
The room went deathly silent as Yao family members looked at one another in stunned disbelief.
