The Extraordinary Path of Cultivation

Everything is with me

Everything is with me

Oct 27, 2024

At that moment, no one noticed that the talisman hanging around Su Ning's neck suddenly flashed a faint silver light and then split in half.

Su Ning immediately felt her mind clear. She didn’t have time to think about what had happened and instinctively kicked out.

Wu Yunyi, who was enjoying the moment, never expected that this gentle and graceful woman would have such a fierce side. Before he realized it, her heel landed hard on his lower abdomen, causing him to gasp in pain.

“You nasty bitch, you’re asking for it. Just wait and see how I deal with you later,” Wu Yunyi yelled angrily, cursing as he felt his frustration build after being thwarted multiple times.

“Wu Yunyi, you’ll regret what you did today,” Su Ning retorted.

After a fierce struggle, Su Ning was ultimately overpowered by the effects of the drug and was tied up, her mouth gagged. Wu Yunyi threw her over his shoulder and rushed up to the room he had already booked on the third floor.

...

In June, Wenzhou's sun had become somewhat merciless, and the ground showed signs of turning into a furnace. Even though it was already past five in the afternoon, the sun hung high in the sky. The cicadas began to sing irritably from the trees, and the willow leaves swayed gently in the hot summer breeze. Zheng Zheng sat under a willow tree, looking relaxed and at ease. The entire South Palace Square was silent, as the scorching weather had significantly reduced the number of street vendors. Those who remained were mostly lounging under the shade, too lazy to do much else.

Zheng Zheng was engrossed in a book, occasionally frowning at parts he didn’t understand. When he grasped something, his face would light up with joy; if he couldn’t figure it out, he’d mark it with a pencil, planning to ponder it later.

As he immersed himself in the sea of knowledge, a warning sensation surfaced in his mind.

“Oh no.” Zheng Zheng’s expression changed, and he flipped his hand over, revealing a talisman that glowed faintly red.

This was the mother talisman from the “Aurasensing Talisman,” sending out a warning.

The “Aurasensing Talisman” consists of a mother talisman and child talismans. The mother talisman was in his hand, while he had given the child talisman to Su Ning before they parted ways.

Zheng Zheng’s decision to give Su Ning the “child talisman” wasn't due to any improper intentions; he had various considerations. First, they had grown up together, and over the years, Su Ning was one of the few people he could still remember. Out of friendship and moral obligation, it wasn’t excessive to help her. Second, after the severe extortion incident involving Wu Yunyi, it was possible that he might act out of anger and commit an atrocity. Ultimately, he was the instigator of that situation. Third, this “Aurasensing Talisman” was merely a failed product of his; it would lose its effectiveness after being used once. Fourth, as a police officer, Su Ning might not frequently encounter danger, but if she ever did, the talisman could help her avoid a crisis. Fifth, and most importantly, the “child talisman” needed to be worn close to the body to be effective, meaning Su Ning had been wearing the talisman he had given her for the past two months, which was what surprised and moved Zheng Zheng the most.

Regaining his composure, Zheng Zheng waved his hand, making all the items on the ground, including the talisman, disappear without a trace. He quickly made his way to the roadside, hailing a taxi to head west.

Wearing the mother talisman allowed him to sense the danger from the child talisman within a hundred miles, but to pinpoint the exact location, he needed to be within ten miles.

Zheng Zheng’s unease grew stronger; it was clear that Su Ning was in increasing danger. However, the taxi was limited by the traffic signals along the route.

This wouldn’t do; he decided quickly, instructing the driver to pull over. Then, he flipped his hand again, revealing a talisman in his palm.

“Speed Talisman, go!” Without worrying about how this might shock the ordinary world, he pressed the talisman against his leg, channeling his magical energy. In an instant, he erupted with a burst of blue light, launching himself like a fired cannonball, disappearing in a puff of smoke only to reappear a hundred meters away. Though he wasn’t very familiar with Wenzhou’s roads, he could still follow the direction sensed by the “mother-child aura talisman” to find Su Ning.

As time passed, the feeling from the mother talisman became increasingly intense, radiating a faint, enchanting red glow.

Su Ning should be nearby.

Before long, the mother talisman guided Zheng Zheng to the entrance of Biyunxuan. He barely had time to breathe before rushing inside.

The receptionist hurriedly stepped forward to block his path, saying, “Hello, do you have a reservation?”

“Which room is Wu Yunyi in? I’m his friend,” Zheng Zheng replied, stopping and suppressing his rising anger.

“Wu Yunyi? Sorry, we don’t have any customer by that name,” a middle-aged man in his thirties approached at that moment.

Zheng Zheng glanced at the man and saw the lobby manager's name tag on his chest. He snorted coldly, “Are you sure?”

“Yes, I am. If you have nothing else, please leave,” the lobby manager replied with a smile.

Zheng Zheng didn’t want to waste precious time arguing. The manager's evasive words and shifty eyes had completely betrayed his true intentions. He reached out and shouted, “Get out of the way!”

The lobby manager stumbled back, nearly falling over like a watermelon.

Zheng Zheng strode upstairs.

“Manager, manager!” Several staff members hurriedly helped the manager to his feet.

“You lot, go stop him!” the manager said, panic evident on his face as he stood up.

A few security guards rushed up, and amidst the chaos, loud cries echoed through the air. Within half a minute, each of them was left bruised and battered. The lobby manager's face turned pale upon witnessing Zheng Zheng's brute force. He realized that the situation had escalated drastically, fearing for Wu Yunyi's safety. He quickly took out his phone and frantically dialed a number.

Zheng Zheng continued up to the third floor, stopping in front of a guest room. Taking a deep breath, he kicked the door with all his might.

With a loud bang, the door was kicked open, creating a large hole before collapsing entirely.

Inside, he saw Su Ning curled up in the corner, her clothes somewhat disheveled. Her hands were bound, and she struggled desperately, trying to avoid Wu Yunyi’s harassment. A surge of murderous intent erupted from Zheng Zheng, his gaze sharp as a knife, filled with a fierce and violent aura that engulfed the entire room.

Wu Yunyi instinctively turned to see a young man enter, his eyes filled with a crazy and vicious glare, radiating a deadly aura.

Upon recognizing Zheng Zheng, he exclaimed in disbelief, “How can it be you?”

At the same time, Su Ning also spotted Zheng Zheng bursting through the door. She could hardly believe her eyes and rubbed her tear-filled eyes vigorously, confirming that she was not dreaming.

“Zheng Zheng, I’m not dreaming, am I?” Seizing the moment when Wu Yunyi was stunned, Su Ning stumbled toward him, throwing herself into his arms and began to cry, feeling wronged.

Once Zheng Zheng untied her hands, deep red marks quickly became visible.

Seeing that her clothes were relatively intact and she had not suffered any substantial harm relieved Zheng Zheng’s heart that had been in his throat. Thankfully, he had made a decisive move earlier, using certain methods; otherwise, it could have led to a lifetime of guilt and regret. He gently patted her trembling shoulder and said softly, “Little fatty, it’s okay, don’t worry, I’m here for you.”
