My training starts today. I prepared everything they told me. Clothes, shoes and even the tools I need to use. This is my first day so I was a bit nervous. They told me that my first training will be basics. As they knew about my age, they didn’t want me to do anything risky. But, that doesn’t mean that I will not face the monsters. I need to learn and observe my surroundings to adopt their movements and to improve my skills.
When I reached their training grounds, they showed me around the place. They showed me where I needed to go and where I didn't need to go. After that, I lined up with the newcomers who will train today. I’m quite shocked to see that many of us will be joining this training.
‘I didn’t know that these people knew about the monsters or…. they just want to test their bravery?’
After I lined up, three people stood in front.
“Hello everyone. I'm Louis and I will be your trainor as of today. And these two were Fred and Risa. They are my co-trainers who will help you to improve your skills and stamina. As you can see, this training ground is not for everyone. We don’t need a scaredy cat who would run away after they face a monster. We need strong people who can defend himself and are willing to help others in facing those monsters. In terms of helping, we need to move like a team. Cooperation is a must. We don’t need any one sided operations that will prevent us from following the plan or slaying those monsters. We need someone who's willing to obey any tasks that are given to him. You can share your opinions with us, tactics that can help to improve our tasks. But that doesn’t mean that you can create another group of people who can separate from the others. We don’t need a selfish bast*rd. Once you do that, you're out. So try to move like one and that will be your end.” Louise said
As he finished his sentence, Fred stood up next.
“Our first training was building strong stamina. So everyone of you should run four laps here.” Fred said
‘Here? As in here? This is a big ground we have!’
“The start and end of the line was that red flag.” Fred points the red flag
“All of you, go to the starting line. You only have 2 hours remaining.” Risa said
We move to the starting line and get our positions.
“On the count of three, you can start running.” Fred shouted
“Three…. Two…One. Go!” Louise shouted and our training started.

I got back to my assigned room.
It’s not easy to train.
Building stamina is a lot of pain. Many of us got tired on the first run. Of course I’m one of them. After running, we did 100 push ups, sit ups, crunches and many more.
My legs and hands were shaking. My back was aching too. I don’t know if I can take a bath now cause I'm so dead tired and I can’t lift my finger too.
Am I gonna be ok with this? Can I withstand this training?
No. I need to think positive. I need to pass this training. I need to do that for the sake of those ones who I left in the orphanage.
The next day of training is much harder than yesterday. They double the laps and the crunches we did yesterday. They add more exercises. I don’t know if I can handle this anymore but I hope this training will end soon.
As days pass by, I forget to count the days I've been training here. And soon, the basic training was done after three months.
“Those who passed by this training, I congratulate you on reaching this stage. But your training does not end here. This is only the beginning.” Mr. Louise said
“The next step from this training is choosing your own weapons. As you can see, our weapons are not normal like what we saw on the knights of the kingdom. Our weapons are specialised to use only for monsters. It is imbued on the special blood from our leader, Lady Citrine. Be careful of using it. Our weapons can’t harm humans. If ever you use a normal knife to your own comrade, we can track you down. Don’t let your mind waver while using it.” Mr. Louise continue
I don’t know what he meant in the last words he said. Maybe the weapons are too powerful to use.
“Let's continue our training tomorrow, you may go.” Mr. Fred said
We walked separately.
“Ben!” Someone calls me.
I looked back and I saw Uno.
Uno was one of the trainees here like me. He is the same age as me. He’s also a cheerful and talkative person. He's the first person who talked to me first. At first, I avoided him because I thought making friends with others was hard for me for now but he was always pestering me everyday. So I have no choice but to accept him. He's my first friend ever since I came here.
“Don't you think we will get our weapons tomorrow?” Uno asked
“I don’t know….. Maybe?” I replied
“I'm very excited for tomorrow!” He said while his eyes was sparkling
“Whatever.” I replied and walked faster
“Hey! Wait for me!” He said and follow me
‘Those weapons, I’m bothered about that.’

The day we've been waiting for has come. Each of us has lined up. We were here at the battle arena where Mr. Alfred showed me the battle between the people here and monsters. Every one of us was curious. Why were we here? What do these weapons look like?
“Listen up, everyone. Remember what I said last time about our weapons? Our weapons are special. Specially created for those monsters. But there are qualifications you must do. Each one of you will choose what weapons you will use. But remember this, after choosing a weapon, that weapon will decide if you will become its master or not. You were lucky if the one you chose is the destined one for you but if not, try to fight your will.” Mr. Louise said
'I knew it! There's something behind those words last time and this is it. Those weapons are not ordinary weapons. It felt like there was a negative feeling about it.'
