I stood in line to enter the auction and I’m glad I had brought a dress with me. It was a formal event and since I was a VIP I would have stood out too much had I come in my regular clothes. The participants were also wearing masks. Sometimes these auctions sell illegal or forbidden items which meant customer confidentiality was prioritized.
My turn was coming up and I took out my VIP card and showed it to the personnel. The guy taking my card smiled and personally escorted me to my seat.
“This will be your personal booth, madam,” he explained. “Our VIP guests will be able to see outside to the bidding hall and we will be able to see whenever you bid on an item. If you need refreshments just ring this bell and a worker will come right away”
He bowed before he exited the room and I looked around before eventually walking over to the large window and peaked outside. There were alot of people in the official bidding hall.
Maybe it’s normal for the people who live in the heart of the kingdom to indulge in auctions like this…
Some time passes and the auction finally starts. For the first few hours they brought in some old vintage items and during the second half they auctioned off live creatures. It was difficult to watch, seeing how they were fighting over items and live beings for their entertainment. I wouldn’t have been here hadn’t it been for that stupid flower.
Then after a twenty minute break, the last bidding session began. They rolled out a table with a cloth covering an item. It looked like it was encased. I watched intently and they unraveled the cloth. Everybody gasped, and so did I. It was the Isrier flower.
“This is the Isrier flower. Many might have heard about it. The owner of this item had made sure this flower was in its best condition. Because it is a premium item, the bid for this flower starts at a hundred thousand gold!”
The bidding began. There were a few that bidded for the herb, I being one of them. The bidders slowly raised the value of the Isrier by fifty-thousand gold each. The price slowly reached four-hundred thousand. I felt my heart in my throat and my hands were sweating.
“It’s all in or nothing..” I say and I bid everything I have.
“Five hundred thousand!” the auctioneer announces.
For a while nobody makes any more bids.
“...and five hundred thousand final time! And sold!”
I can’t believe I have gotten the flower in my hands, the Isrier Flower belongs to me!
