she calculated the distance carefully, and as soon as all the slimes entered her range, she slashed in a way that would hit all of them at once. the moment she swung, a green light appeared on the sword, making her swing faster than anticipated. she managed to hit all the slimes, but the momentum from her swing sent her tumbling. luckily, she hadn't hurt herself with the sword.

next to him , the researcher sat in a similar chair as his. the difference was, he was not restrainted by anything. he looked at the boy with fear, unable to comprehend how his procedure had failed.

"unfortunately for you." the boy spoke. "you have failed again. and this will be your last failure." having said that, he used the unfamiliar power to coat his unfurled hand, manifesting a blade of energy along the end of it.

with a single swift motion, he stabbed at the heart of the scientist, who could no longer move.

in another room, the researcher was surprised to see one of the dots on his screen suddenly go out. "so, one of them died. what a pity." he sighed in disappointment. he then entered a few commands, and the scene where the yellow haired boy had been began to replay. he had the authority to view the scene of a subject's death, at least. and what he saw confused him.

"the boss? i thought he had died in the purge 15 years ago? how could he be here? and that boy. that's the third prince of the old emperor that we captured. what could he want with him?"

he watched as the old boss, who he thought was dead, was killed by the prince, who had been recorded to have no abilities for the duration of his 15 years of life. the boy then turned to look at the camera, and the feed was cut off there.

"the time matches when the other spot went out. which means, the prince was the one in the trials previously. that room, seems like the first checkpoint after the corridor where we had stored that one creature. the prince didn't pass through there, so the prince's companion must have gone through there instead." his face was serious for a moment, but he began to laugh again, until he was almost unable to breathe.

"things have gotten interesting once more! i hope these two can continue to bring me more surprises!"
