Alvara's eyes fluttered open, the bright light piercing through the haze of her mind. For a moment, she couldn't remember where she was. The sterile scent of the antiseptic filled the air, and the rhythmic beeping of machines surrounded her. It felt surreal, like a scene from a movie. She found herself unable to identify her own chamber. But as her senses sharpened, the memories of the accident flooded back, and she felt a rush of panic.
Though, this was not the first instance.
Suddenly, her phone buzzed on the bedside table, shattering the silence. The sound was persistent, almost demanding. She reached for it, her fingers trembling. When she finally unlocked the screen, there were over a thousand messages waiting for her, half of them were from her best friend. Dozens of messages filled with hope and love, each one a reminder of the bond they shared.
"I'm here for you, VEEVEE!"
You're gonna be okay.
Please wake up!
Wakey Wakey Veeve !
The warmth of her friend's words wrapped around her like a comforting blanket.
