Once they got inside the forest, the Braw Agents saw nothing but trees. They were tall and were all topped with a full head of hair, or in this case leaves, which, when they looked up, blocked their view of the sky. What made Kitayi Forest so imposing to the Braw Agents was not its appearance, but rather its size.
“How are we going to find the Maioura Blade here?” asked Hannah. “I think we should split up into groups,” answered Narvy. “After all, we’d cover more ground that way.” Bobby took note of the forest’s size and came up with his own idea. “I think we should search the forest together as one group,” replied Bobby. “It’s really big and I don’t want anyone to get lost,” he explained. After Bobby justified his idea, everyone agreed it made sense.
They had only just started exploring the forest, yet the Braw Agents were already finding the experience monotonous. After they saw a bunch of trees in their way, it only led them to more trees. “This may take a while,” stated Elsa. “Yeah, but at least it’s not raining any more,” replied Rita. “Imagine if it was,” she added. Just then, Narvy reached into his tool belt. He pulled out a mini torch and activated it. “Are you sure we’ll need that?” asked Edward. “Maybe not,” answered Narvy, “but you never know, it might make our job easier.” Although Kitayi Forest was dark, it was not the type of place where you’d need a torch to navigate the area. But when the torch projected its light onto something, it revealed all of the details present on the ground and trees. No leaf, tree branch, or piece of bark could hide from the light. With the beam from the torch lighting the forest path, the Braw Agents continued their search.
After an hour had passed, they still hadn’t seen the Maioura Blade. This was quite irritating since they had already spent an additional two hours on the train and were all in desperate need of some food and rest. Bobby felt as if the rest time on the train had paid off. Narvy was right when he’d said the mission would get intense once they got into the forest.
At that moment they encountered a large pile of branches and leaves on the ground. “Didn’t we pass that half an hour ago?” asked Hannah. “Yeah, I think we did,” replied Bobby. “I think we’ve travelled to every part of this forest,” Rita stated grimly, “yet, we still haven’t found the Maioura Blade. What if it’s really in another location?” Bobby spoke up in an effort to make her feel better. “Like I said on the train, the Trooth Booth was right about the location of the blue Maioura Blade,” explained Bobby, “so I don’t see why the green one wouldn’t be in this forest.” Rita thanked him for the reassurance, and the Braw Agents resumed their mission.
For the next five minutes, the Braw Agents wandered around Kitayi Forest in search the Maioura Blade. Narvy pointed his torch at everything hoping it would result in finding the artefact. Fortunately, Narvy caught a glimpse of something as he was walking past it. His eyes caught sight of a green object. It appeared to be glass-like and a much brighter shade of green than the many leaves in the forest. “Guys, stop, I think I’ve found something,” ordered Narvy as he ran in the opposite direction the Braw Agents were walking in. They watched as he stopped by a tree and bent down. Narvy grabbed the green object by the only visible part and pulled it out of the ground. When the whole object was revealed, it was great news to all of the Braw Agents.
“Is that …?” Bobby asked in shock. “The Maioura Blade? I think so,” answered Narvy. “Awesome,” replied Hannah. “What should we do with it now?” “I think we should take it back to Fluvaria and ask someone to put it in the Department of Valuable Artefacts,” answered Narvy. “Good idea,” replied Bobby. Narvy carried the Maioura Blade as everyone made their way out of Kitayi Forest. They seemed to be getting close to an exit, since there were now fewer trees ahead of them and the grey sky was more noticeable. Everything was going smoothly, but that didn’t last for long. When he least expected it, someone grabbed Narvy by the shoulder and pulled him back, snatching the Maioura Blade out of his hand. All of this happened so quickly that Narvy had no time to react. When he turned around, he saw Charlina with the Maioura Blade.
“Do you think this belongs to you?” she snarled viciously. The Braw Agents had never seen Charlina before, but due to the army of stone warriors behind her, they assumed she was a villain, so they drew out their weapons and pointed them at her. However, something interesting grabbed Narvy’s attention. Unlike the warriors behind her, Charlina was a human.
“You’re the one behind this whole scheme?” asked Narvy. “No, I’m more of an apprentice.” This response made Bobby speak up and ask her a question. “If that’s the case, then who are you working for?” he asked. Charlina raised one of her eyebrows. “Why should I tell you that?” she asked, sarcastically. Bobby gave up asking questions after this underwhelming response, but Hannah spoke up and asked Charlina more questions regardless. “Where are all of these stone warriors coming from? How are they alive? Why are you trying to collect the Maioura Blades for that ritual?” asked Hannah in one breath. Charlina just stood there, acting as if she hadn’t heard anything. “Do you really think she’ll answer those questions?” asked Elsa, judging from how Bobby’s question was answered. “It’s worth a shot,” replied Hannah.
Charlina finally gave a response, albeit a useless one. “I said it to that boy, and I’ll say it again,” explained Charlina. “Why should I tell you?” she snarled, in a mocking way. Whenever the Braw Agents tried asking Charlina questions, they got nothing out of her, but that didn’t stop Edward from trying. “How did you know the location of each Maioura Blade?” he asked. “Jeez, you lot are annoying,” groaned Charlina.
The stone warriors drew out their weapons. They ranged from swords to axes, spears and crossbows. They were ready to fight the Braw Agents and even charged forward, but then, something happened. Charlina intervened to stop the fight before it could even begin. “Stop,” she ordered. “We got what we came here for, fighting these kids would be nothing but a waste of time."
At that moment, Charlina grabbed a rare and unusual relic out of her pocket. It was a telecoin. A magical device that can teleport you to any location. The stone warriors had previously used it to get from Fluvaria to the Castle of Crepuscolo and vice versa. However, during the stone warriors’ previous usages of the device, they hid in an obscure area while teleporting. This was done to not attract any more attention than they already did. But since they were in a rural area with only the Braw Agents watching, they felt safe doing it out in the open. “Well, it was nice meeting you,” commented Charlina sarcastically, “but we have to go now.”
The next instant, she raised her arm while holding the telecoin, and pressed the button. A string of yellow light ejected from the telecoin. It bounced onto every stone warrior before connecting to Charlina herself. Everyone was now interconnected by a ray of light. Charlina’s body started to glow, the light increasing quickly until she was just a luminous white silhouette. The same applied to the stone warriors. “What’s going on?” asked Bobby. “I think they’re using a telecoin,” answered Narvy. “I read all about them once.” “What’s a telecoin?” asked Rita. “No time to explain now. Quick, grab on to somebody, we can’t let them perform that ritual,” ordered Narvy, with tension in his voice.
In an instant, each Braw Agent grabbed on to a stone warrior. They too became luminous silhouettes. In a flash, everyone disappeared leaving no trace of their presence.
