Examining everyone with its glowing eyes, the floral entity addressed Noru. "Noru. The signal between myself, and the lotus I implanted within your chest has faded. Has this kingdom brought forth so much trouble, that you've been forced to draw out your full strength?"
Nearby, Noru transformed his body into water, allowing all of the glass shards embedded within him to drop to the floor. He then morphed into his human form, responding, "The Surge Kingdom itself hasn't done a thing yet, Ada. In fact, I already killed one of their higher ups. That certainly caught them off guard, they've been in a state of shock ever since. The place would be wiped out by now if it weren't for these two." He gestured toward Verlena and Teres. "Now they're pretty strong, and the girl on their boat probably is too. Although she hasn't interfered yet. But I wonder who could've contracted them, and known we were going to attack this place. Whoever it was must have deep pockets, and some way of discovering our plans."
Ada slowly nodded. "So it has already begun, then. Dominant entities throughout the world have started to interfere. I suppose I should not be surprised, what we're attempting to accomplish is fated to attract ample attention. But we did not go into this with ignorant expectations. Since you are of our weaker comrades, we will transition your role to that of a scout, attentively exploring the world in search of smaller matters that must be dealt with. The destruction of all prominent locations may be left to our more capable allies, such as myself, from here on out."
"Alright, that sounds like a plan then. I was growing a little worried that I wasn't going to be able to handle some of the assholes that may have been thrown our way in the future, considering I was already struggling here. I think those smaller jobs suit me well, so I'll go ahead and get out of here. Would you mind lending me some of your temporary wings? If you plan to blow this place apart right now, I want to get away as quick as I can."
"That would be fine Noru, here you go." Ada said as he blew a cloud of golden dust towards Noru. As the dust reached him, a pair of tiny wings sprouted from his back, enabling him to swiftly fly away from the Surge Kingdom in mere seconds.
Turning his focus back to the inhabitants of the Surge Kingdom, Ada observed that the Surge beings' bodies had shifted to a deep shade of gray.
"Mm... so, have you all decided to act at last?" Questioned Ada.
Lightning crackled around Illume's storm blade as he tightened his grip, his gaze locked onto Ada. "That samurai bastard... he was right." he declared, his voice resonating with determination. "We've just been watching those contracted warriors protect us. We are not used to the deaths of higher ups, so I was left wondering what the hell had just occurred. Our immeasurable strength, that has brought our race so much success over time, blinded us to the feeling of true, significant loss." His eyes narrowed into a concentrated glare. "But we have now snapped out of that pitiful state, and will not let some flowery piece of shit be the end of our glorious species. For the first time in ages, us Surge will unleash our true strength, and push you and whoever else you send, the hell out of our magnificent Kingdom!! For Gael... my dear brother... and for ourselves as well!! Everyone, right now, kill this intruder!!!"
A booming, thunderous noise exploded across the Surge Kingdom. All of the Surge present engulfed themselves in lightning. They were members of Illume's army, having abilities reminiscent of him. They began to sprint circles around Ada, who watched them with a calm expression, remaining in place.
A tornado of lightning began to form, increasing in size the more the Surge ran. It towered over the kingdom, soon surpassing the size of the wind tornado Gael had created just before his death.
Beneath the clouds, a fierce lightning storm began unleashing its fury upon the surface world.
The lightning tornado closed in on Ada, enveloping him in a searing explosion of energy upon contact. The force of the blast sent Verlena, Teres, Esca, and their ship hurtling backward, despite Esca's efforts to anchor it in place. Fortunately, her quick actions at the very least prevented any damage to the vessel.
Once the effects of the blast had settled, it was revealed that Ada was completely unaffected by the attack.
But the lightning Surge were far from finished. Illume himself raised his blade high into the air, fury blazing in his eyes, and unleashed a barrage of lightning bolts across the surface of the kingdom. Wherever a bolt struck, a colossal lightning monster began to take shape, emerging from the impact site with ominous power.
With a fierce slash of his blade, Illume unleashed several more bolts across the area, each one landing directly in front of a member of his army. From the impact points, four-legged lightning creatures materialized. Without hesitation, the members of his army mounted the creatures, charging towards Ada with determination.
The thunderous footsteps of the lightning giants reverberated across the kingdom as they charged towards Ada. Surrounding them, the Surge bravely rode atop their four-legged lightning beasts, following closely behind.
As he observed the horde of enemies charging his way, Ada delicately plucked a flower from his chest. "Oh, my dazzling flower, whose beauty and wondrous life blesses this world with its presence, I call upon your power," he murmured softly. "End the lives of those who dare to challenge me. Absorb their souls, and grant us strength." Cradling the flower in his palm, it began to emit a gentle glow before ascending into the air. As it reached a certain height, it spun rapidly, releasing a flurry of petals that scattered across the area. Transparent beams shot out from each petal, draining the life force from countless Surge warriors. With each beam, a Surge fell lifeless to the ground, their vitality sapped away completely.
One of the pedal's beams targeted Illume, but before it could reach him, it was intercepted by a dense cloud of Esca's mist. The mist absorbed the beam, rendering the petal powerless until it withered and fell to the ground below.
Nearby, Esca soared past Illume, aboard the ship with Verlena and Teres. "Pull yourself together, electric puff ball!! If you're dead, we'll be screwed against this guy!!" she shouted at him. Shifting her focus back to steering the ship, she muttered, "To be honest, though, I wish we could just run away. Verlena! Teres! Is this seriously still not beyond your contractual obligations!?"
Verlena replied. "I will admit that this enemy is quite formidable, but the Elemental Samurai failed to warn him of my fragile blade. If I'm able to land a blow, it matters not how strong the opponent I connect with is. It could be a god, and its body would still burst like a brittle glass sculpture."
"Ah, well... that is true I guess. We will go ahead and attempt to do exactly that then! Find the opening we so desperately need, and shatter this floral angel demon to bits!"
