More and more lightning Surge continued to collapse as their life essence was drained. Despite how many attacks they shot toward Ada, they all were either absorbed, or effortlessly deflected by him.
Verlena, Teres, and Esca maneuvered their ship around the battlefield, but they struggled to find an opportune moment for Verlena to strike with her fragile blade.
Verlena gazed at Ada intently, searching for any sign of weakness or a clue that might reveal an opportunity for action.
"Hey Esca, you were able to absorb one of those pedal beams to protect the lightning Surge's leader, isn't that right?" Teres asked. "Think you're capable of absorbin' all of 'em at once, to give the Surge group some real time to land an attack on the flowery S.O.B.? A successful attack from all of those guys would really draw in his attention, and give Verlena the opportunity to land a hit on the beautiful bastard."
"As sad as it is for me to say, I don't believe that's possible." Esca replied. "Can I absorb every last one of those mystical pedal beams? Maybe. But you see, since I'm flying our ship at the moment, I don't have nearly enough mist to spare to accomplish such a task."
Reaching toward his pocket for a piece of candy, Teres was reminded that he had none left. After a resigned sigh, he raised two fingers while locking eyes with Verlena and Esca. "Then we've got two options," He began. "Firstly, we could land the ship, and have Esca hopefully absorb all the pedal beams. I don't think flower boy has his attention on us enough to take action if we suddenly land. This would give the electric Surge an opening so their attacks can actually connect, and give Verlena the opportunity to land a hit and shatter the guy to bits while he's dealin' with the lighting cloud attacks. But, that'd leave us completely open to any attacks if the big guy does notice us too early."
Teres turned his attention toward the grandiose Surge Kingdom. "And secondly, we could try and make our way deeper into the kingdom, and find some kinda huge bell to ring. If they've got one that's big enough, I could wipe out the whole damn battlefield with the power it'd give me. I'll leave the decision of which route we take up to you two. Just try not to take your sweet time with it."
Nodding, Verlena turned to Esca. Before she could say anything, a sudden, intense blizzard engulfed the entire area. The battlefield was obscured, the intensity of the snowstorm making it difficult to see a thing.
Emerging from the heart of the storm, a voice called out, "Oh my, Illume... I've never seen you struggle to such a degree to rid us of an opponent. I was curious to see why your battle was dragging on for such a long while, and it looks like the answer was simple. We've come up against quite the formidable individual. Would you like some help, my dear?"
Illume shifted his gaze toward Nix, Wielder of the Frost Storm Blade, who was hovering within her blizzard. "Yes, Nix! This being is incredibly impressive! I cannot believe the things I've witnessed him withstand, and what I've seen him dish out! I'm unsure if my lightning army is capable of bringing him down, I lose confidence the more I watch on! But, with your army and mine's combined might, I have no doubts that we will make this angelic being fall!!"
"Wonderful, I'll go ahead and join in then. With the situation being as extreme as you say, I'll call upon my adorable little soldiers and let them go all out. Aw... they're going to be so excited when I tell them they don't need to hold back this time. It'll be so cute to watch."
Nix hovered downward, touching the tips of her toes on the surface of the battlefield. This froze a sheet of ice across the entirety of both the battlefield, and the Surge Kingdom, indicating to her soldiers that it was time to fight.
It wasn't long before Nix's army arrived. Once a majority of her soldiers had appeared, Nix called out to them, "Listen, my loves!! The repulsive angelic shit you see hovering before us, has given our dear Illume and his wonderful army quite a lot of trouble! This means that despite its nauseating look, the sickening thing is a formidable adversary to some degree! So please, don't be gentle this time! Go all out and tear this rotten garden apart to your heart's content...!!"
Understanding the wishes of their leader, Nix's soldiers did just as she asked, using their full strength to attempt to bring down Ada.
Skating across the icy surface, each member of Nix's army positioned themselves in front of a counterpart from Illume's forces. Raising their hands, they intercepted Ada's flower beams with their fingertips, freezing the beams along their lengths until they encased the flowers entirely. With a resounding crack, the frozen flowers shattered into pieces.
Having at last gained a moment to act, Illume's army blasted waves of lighting into the battlefield's icy surface, temporarily infusing Nix's soldiers with additional electrical energy alongside their own frost powers.
Ada watched on as Nix's army shot a barrage of gigantic, lightning engulfed ice spears straight at him. In response, he harshly flapped his wings, spreading a golden dust all around him. Once the ice spears connected with the dust, they instantly melted, pouring to the ground below. Small bursts of lightning shot outward from where the water splashed.
Immediately responding themselves, Nix's soldiers stomped their feet against the icy surface, creating massive ice towers all across the battlefield. Still powered up with additional lightning abilities, they used the extra power to shoot out blasts of lighting from the ice towers.
Ada unleashed another cloud of golden dust to shield himself once more, this time causing the incoming lightning bolts to erupt into flames upon contact.
The battle raged on. Both Nix and Illume's armies worked together to try and defeat Ada, but were continuously unsuccessful. No matter what they threw at him, he seemed to counter it with ease in one way or another.
Illume watched from a distance with a concerned expression. Nix landed next to him, her arms crossed. "Well then, it's hard for me to recall the last time an opponent of this caliber invaded Brelec," She remarked. "We may genuinely need to step in ourselves to bring down this awful entity."
Narrowing his eyes, Illume responded. "Yes, I think we will. I am incredibly impressed with this damn being's defenses. But... the good thing is, that if he is so focused on defending himself, it means the bastard is capable of being hurt. Since our armies began to fight together as one unit, he has been unable to unleash any offensive maneuver. So I am confident, that us stepping in here..." An aura of powerful lightning exploded around Illume. "Will be the end of him!!!"
"Oh yes, I'm just as confident, love. Let's go on then, and get rid of this distasteful filth together." Nix's blizzard strengthened, her eyes and hair beginning to glow a snowy bluish color.
*Gong*
Just before Illume and Nix could take action, an ear blaring gong noise came booming from a distance. A giant bell from within the city had been rung. This caught everyone's attention, aside from Ada, who used the noise as a distraction, allowing him to at last unleash another attack.
He had just enough time to swiftly shoot a seed toward the ground. It blasted through the icy surface, then immediately beginning to grow into a gargantuan sunflower.
Before the flower was able to completely grow, Nix conjured a giant ice barrier, slamming it against the surface, crushing the sunflower between the barrier and the ground.
It wasn't long afterward that Verlena and Teres's ship came rocketing from where the gong noise had came from.
Sweat poured down Esca's body. She gritted her teeth, and was down on one knee, spewing as much of her mist as she could into the ship to allow it to travel at an incredible speed.
The ship zoomed past Ada, and as it did so, Teres leapt from the deck.
Ada glanced to his side, making eye contact with Teres. Other than that, Ada had no time to do anything else before Teres bashed his fist into Ada's stomach.
Upon his fist making contact with Ada, the entirety of the battlefield was blown away from the pure power behind his punch. The cloud surface itself nearly splitting apart. Blood shot out of Ada's mouth, and all of the flowers across his body were blasted off. His eyes held an expression of complete shock.
