"Wait!" Amber screamed out.
The blue boy stopped in his tracks.
She made eye contact with the administrator, emerald versus magenta. "Give him a chance." Her eyes were full of determination and justice. "It took him hours to get here, and you don't even know if he'll be a good fighter. The flier said you accepted Monos." Grant frowned at the confrontation. "And your point is?"
"My point is that you can always kick him out. This can only be a win-win situation for you."
The administrator looked downwards, putting his head in thought. He has drafted Monos before, but they all have proven to be cowardly failures with weakness to their name. The army had 20-30 of them at most in contrast to the entire thousands of Tris, and a handful of Tetras. In his mind, Monos were great shields, good for vain sacrifice to protect the strongest of his soldiers.
"Fine." He reluctantly agreed. "Both of you can go in."
"Yay!" Amber cheered, putting her arms in the air. Blake opened his eyes in surprise.
Both of them were scanned and documented by a lavender haired girl, and were allowed to enter the headquarters.
The lavender haired girl was one of the higher ranked military officials, who was also part of another martial arts academy, whose job was to scan people into orientation. Her name was Lavender Petrov, and she smiled at Blake and Amber, leading them into the auditorium.
Blake tilted his head upwards, and saw extremely bright stage lights, thousands of people talking, cheering, and scrambling. This was a vast auditorium, the triangular stage was filled with luminescent lights, with beautiful aquarium pillars. Surrounding the stage, there were circles of people, and more circles of people, awaiting a performance. Blake and Amber sat down next to each other in an empty section of the broad audience. A few minutes passed, and suddenly the lights turned dark and the crowd went quiet.
"Ladies, and gentlemen...boys and girls, everyone outside and in between." The administrator announced in the air, his voice booming inside the waves of people, most likely from his ability as a Tri. "My name is Grant. And I am the current leading military representative for the Mayor. We are declaring war on the monsters that live amongst us." He paced to the left side of the huge triangular stage. "The Glitchers have tried taking our freedom, family, and homes. Tried ripping us apart, by killing our people with no mercy." Grant sternly muttered. "But we won't let them take over. We won't let them win." He articulated his words sharply, with no saggy breaths or softness.
“Destroy their eyes, and they immediately DIE."
He makes a cutthroat gesture with his arms, clenching his teeth in intimidation.
"WE WILL EXTERMINATE ALL GLITCHERS, ONCE AND FOR ALL!" He punched his fist in the air, showcasing his undying loyalty. The crowd started chanting, putting their fingers in a triangle
"Triangulo servios...Triangulo servios...Triangulo servios...Triangulo servios..." The whispers became louder, and louder as more people pledged their loyalty to the triangle. "Triangulo servios, triangulo servios" "Serve the triangle!" Someone shouted in the middle of the crowd.
"TRIANGULO SERVIOS, TRIANGULO SERVIOS, TRIANGULO SERVIOS '' Everyone was now full of excitedness and banter, motivated to fight for what's right. Amber smiled nervously, uncomfortable with the amount of crowds in this room, while Blake was chanting the pledge repeatedly like the rest of the audience.
Grant stomped his boots twice, and everyone went silent again.
"Please go to the lobby on the right to get your number and dorm room." Grant pointed to the location, a door was opened inside the auditorium. Blake stood up, without Amber's presence, and walked to the lobby himself.
The uniform was a black turtleneck vest with gray buttons stringed along the front. The collar was white, in contrast to the blackness. He observed that the administrator had the same uniform like he has, but had a golden pin attached to his chest. He had a glimpse at the other soldiers who were giving out the uniforms, some had two golden pins. He then received his dorm number and name on a small card. Like he predicted, he had a hard time reading what it said. The words swirled and jumbled on the paper, the whiteness and blackness swarming his vision.
He somehow forgot Ima's existence, and realized she might have been returned back to the household. Sighing, his best guess of what the card said was "Gamma 67"
Walking down the neon pink light rimmed hallways, he saw that every door required fingerprint and facial recognition. The doors weren't a classic rectangle frame, but a triangle contraption that opened sideways. He found Gamma 67, and placed his finger and face on the screen.
ERROR! The screen turned red.
"Huh?" He scratched his forehead, confused. Two taps on his shoulder were placed, and he looked behind him. Amber was there. "A little lost?"
She took the card from him. "The correct room number is Gamma 77. You were close." Amber smiled, and looked at her own card. "Wait a second, we have the same room number! What a coincidence!!"
Blake and Amber entered their room, the triangular doors welcoming them. BRRR… The doors slowly opened and they both walked inside while the doors closed back up. Amber traced her fingers on the walls of the place, shocked how different this was from her home she lived with her brother. She refocused her vision onto the beds, and realized two people were sitting on the beds.
Two people they recognized.
Blake made a bothered expression on his face, and a beat pulsed through his chest when he realized what he realized.
