Chapter 10 - Roommates

The dorm room was covered in black paint, with pink rim lighting on the top fringes. There was a double bunk bed, with periwinkle sheets and white pillows. On one bunk bed, there was a very familiar green spiky haired boy chilling on the lower mattress, and on the top bunk bed, there was a very familiar tall boy with red hair.
"Y-YOU..." Amber pointed at the green haired boy with surprised anger. Tilting his head upside down while staring at her in shock, he blurted out.
"YOU'RE THAT UGLY PINK HAIRED BITCH!" He blurted out , with no shame.
"AND YOU'RE THAT SPOILED MONEY BRAT!" Amber replied, laughing in pure mockery.
Blake wiped off his forehead with sweat, after he found out this realization. He found his heartbeat pulse hard in his chest ever since he was near Amber. She was so different from the things he believed in, and it was something he couldn't understand. He glanced at Pele, and then glanced at Darius. Why were both of them, Tetras, in a room with peasants?
Pele was spectating the stupid rumble Amber and Darius started. They were pulling each other's hairs and slapping each other like toddlers. "YOU BETTER SHUT THE FUCK UP BITCH!" Darius grabbed Amber by her uniform, while she grabbed him by his collar while screaming at him.
Pele put a hand on both of their heads, since he was a head or more taller than both of them.
"No fighting, alright guys?" Pele disliked conflict, and preferred to keep the peace. Something Blake noticed was that he had three golden pins on his uniform, neatly stacked on top of each other. He wondered what rank he was. Pele’s voice was something that rang familiar for him.
"Lunch is starting soon, so let's head over there." He clapped his hands optimistically. Amber was flustered about Pele's diplomacy. Darius crossed his arms and looked at the ceiling. "Fine. Just because I know I'm stronger than you." Then he stormed out of the room in immature anger.
Amber looked up at Pele, and because his hand was on her head, she noticed even more how tall he was. "Woah! How tall are you?"
"I'm around 185 cm and still growing." He kindly replied. Amber accidentally sniffed him, noticing how he smelled like roses. She sniffed again, trying to make the smell last in her nostrils. Pele chuckled, patted Amber's head lightly, and winked at her. The pink girl's cheeks turned red while he left the room. Blake rolled his eyes.
"Hey. I wanted to talk to you, ma'am." Blake respectfully lowered his head. Amber was turning to leave as well, but walked backwards. "Yes?"
"Why are you helping me so much?" He asked, with frustration in the resonance of his voice. "If you want something from me, you can say so."
Amber thought for a second, and then gleamed slightly. "Well, my older brother,Chris, always told me to treat people how I want to be treated." She peered her eyes slightly on Blake's neck. "I do it because I want to follow my brother's path, not because I want something from you." She peered into Blake's orange eyes for a minute..”And, call me Amber, not m’aam!” then skipped out of the room to head to lunch.
Playing with his food, this has been a long time since he ate. A wrapped leaf with sticky rice, and beans. He wanted to eat,but there were too many thoughts in his mind that obstructed his ability to do so. He didn't think he deserved it. This food was mainly for higher rankers. Blake sat at Amber's table, where she was awkwardly standing next to him. "So… how have you been?" Amber attempted social interaction, only to be ignored with even more awkward silence. "Hellooo?" She tried waving her hands in front of Blake's face, trying to get a response.
Both of them were standing awkwardly in the middle of the cafeteria, not sure where to sit.
Ugh, she rubbed her eyes in annoyance, so rude! I wanna pull his stupid ears off !
She observed the cafeteria. There was inappropriate graffiti splashed on the walls. There was a clique full of Tetras, and it was not surprising they were given luxurious velvet couches and alcohol. She spotted Darius, the angry green haired boy bragging about his biceps while chugging down a cup of champagne. The cafeteria roared in peer pressure after he chugged the alcohol off, and there was a round of applause. In the world of Tetra, there were no age limits with alcohol and drugs, and smoking since these pleasures were only accessible to the rich.
There were two seats left in the entire cafeteria, and it just so happened to be in the tetra clique where Darius was sitting at. Amber walked towards the group, while Blake followed her.
"Hi!" She jabbered, trying to make a friendly entrance. "We shouldn't do th-" Blake started, Amber refusing his input of the matter by a turn of her hand. "I was wondering if you had space for two more people!" Amber smiled naively.
The table was still and the unfair air was dense. There were two or three Tri rankers at the table, who stared at them condescendingly, serving the Tetras drinks. One of them walked up to them. "You peasants are not welcomed here." She lifted up Amber's collar in a rude manner, and saw her birthmark ; spitting on her face. "Go. Before our bosses give you hell." She smirked and went back to her seat. Amber wiped off the sweat on her face. "Alright, s-sorry about that." Darius crossed his arms and crossed his legs, while stirring his glass of champagne.
"Let them sit. I have unfinished business with them." He squinted and took a drink from his glass. The middle rank servants opened their eyes in surprise, because Darius was never the type to put leniency on lower rankers. "Are you sure about that sir?" asked the Tri-s. Darius glared back at them, making them confident that he was sure.
Blake took a step backwards, but Amber grabbed him. "Thank you!!" She graciously shouted out, while sitting on the table.
As soon as their butts got comfortable in the fancy seating below them, BAM! A fork pierced through the table in front of them. Darius's hands were still drinking his champagne, and his birthmark glowed in the air. The reason why Tetras were respected was because they had MULTIPLE superpowers. Amber looked at the fork, and stared at Darius.
"You owe me that fuckin' money for that car ya broke." He was serious, and it followed with a fork stabbing. "If you don't, I'll get the government-to-"
"I thought Pele paid for the expenses?" Amber explained, not fazed with the fork. Blake was obviously uncomfortable so he nudged around the food on his tray. Pele was right next to Darius, smiling.
"Yes I believe I did." He answered, showing the bank account transaction. Darius punched the phone out of Pele's hand, "They need to PAY." He angrily yelled out. "They can't just get away with it! I don't even want to be here!"
"Well for your safety and other people's, you should be glad that the Mayor chose to put you here rather than your reputation taking a hit." Pele tried calming his best friend down by putting his hand on his shoulder. "Give them a break, alright?"
He pulled out the fork and put it down gently.
Amber rolled her eyes, resuming to eat her BLT sandwich. "You act like a child, did anybody tell you that? Even my older brother is more mature than you and he acts like a toddler" The Tri-s stand up, to make a move on her but Darius shooed them away. Amber was getting enjoyment in her sandwich, and pissing off these immature childmen.
Before the child man could continue his tantrum, red alarms started blaring and all the lights turned red. WEEEE WOOOO! WEEE WOOO! BEEEEEEEP!
Blake stood up immediately, Did his master find where he escaped to? Was he gonna go back to that house again?
"What's going on??" Amber panicked, putting fingers in her ears to block the loud noises.
A group of soldiers kicked the door and entered the cafeteria, the lead soldier being the cranky administrator officer- Grant.
"EVERYONE FOLLOW ME AND WEAR YOUR SUITS! WE HAVE AN AMBUSH ON THE NORTH WING!"
He yelled so loud that the alarm was like a whisper.
"The glitchers are back."
