In downtown Eternis, where the skyscrapers are still piercing the skies, faded runes still scattered on the ground, and sounds of cars and people walking and talking filling the air.
Priscilla, who is making her way to “Aaron’s” office at “Summers Corp” a corporation specializing in marketing ads. Started to hear her voice, but it sounded different, like it was trying to tell her something important… like it was warning her of something happening.
“Do… nt…” the voice can barely be heard and the words are as if they are being blocked… sounding like muffled static..
“Esh, the closer I get… the more chills run up my spine… just what’s gonna happen…” Priscilla rubbing her arms to shake off the chills.
As she stands in front of Summers Corp, a tall building with sharp edges, a diamond shaped roof and flower garden and trees around the building, the feeling of something ominous grows stronger.
“What the hell! The place doesn’t look scary… yet I’m feeling scared to take a step further…” she closes her eyes and tries to calm herself through breathing exercises.
“Don’t…. Be… Watch out!” The voice is now louder and clearer than before.
She smacks her cheeks and shakes her head, “I need to snap out of it… and while I’m at it ignore this loud voice of me in my head… sigh… let’s do this!” as she walked up the stairs to enter the building, at the top of the steps she saw a shadow… and as soon as she made contact with it, the shadow grew wings and flew down and through Priscilla… making her fall backwards. She closed her eyes tightly anticipating the impact.
But, before she could hit the ground… from behind a man catches her.
Priscilla with her eyes still closed tightly, slowly opens them as a familiar voice says, “Are you ok! You could’ve gotten seriously hurt!”
“Alvin…” as she tears up she looked at his face which was full of worry as his eyes looked soft yet worryingly at her.
But, as soon as they made eye contact… their consciousness went to another time and yet a familiar place. The feeling of everything around them fading away as they’re slowly transitioning to the past.
“Cling!”
“Clang!”
“Whosh!”
Noises from outside the crystal barrier as bzzt bzzt try to break through and the smell of burning lavender and dirt starts to fade inside the crystal barrier.
“Aaron, why did you just now put up this barrier?” say Paisley with her hand on her hip while she’s holding her staff.
“I’ve figured out a way to solve this terrible situation we’re in…” Aaron closes his eyes as he thinks about the consequences, “But it relies heavily on Jennifer and Evon…”
“I see… I just hope that when all this is over… all of us can be happy,” Paisley sits next to Aaron and pats his back softly while staring lovingly into his eyes.
Then they kiss.
“Thanks… I needed that reminder…” Aaron was smiling, but his eyes were sad, “I’m going to contact Hamilton and Evon, watch the barrier’s condition while I’m at it.”
“Got it!” Paisley stands guard.
Aaron starts to use his transmission magic, “Hello, Evon! Hamilton! This is Aaron, and I’ve come up with a way to…”
“Ring~”
“Ring~”
“Ring~”
The sound of Alvin’s phone ringing, brought their consciousness back to the present reality.
They blankly stare at each other as they still feel like they’re still stuck in the past… as if they’re still stuck in that moment… but the sounds of people walking past them and Alvin’s phone ringing slowly brought their senses back to the present.
Alvin, still holding Priscilla, answers his phone, “Hello… Alright, I’ll be right there.”
Priscilla started to get shy and blushed, “Umm… you don’t have to… ouch!” Priscilla’s ankle started to throb.
“And that’s why I won’t be putting you down… your hurt, let me treat you in my office,” Alvin said worryingly but was smiling at the same time.
“And where’s… exactly is your office?” Priscilla curiously asks while comfortably in Alvin’s arms.
Alvin smirks, “I’m the CEO of Summers Corp, so at the top.”
Priscilla is both surprised and embarrassed that for one, she’s going to get carried until the top, and for two that she didn’t realize he was the CEO even though she had his business card.
Alvin laughs at her surprised but blushing face, “Thank you for coming after I called for you, we have a lot to discuss about… our shared dreams.”
Priscilla still blushing nods her head and fiddles with her hands.
But, yet again, unbeknownst to them… Vidhi was watching them from afar.
“The shadow is getting more violent as they get closer to their truth… but…”
Before he could finish this thought, someone from behind him tapped his shoulder. And when he turned around, it was a woman of short stature, long purple hair, green eyes, and ethereal pale skin.
“Vidhi, we need to take action before someone else gets hurt… or worse,” the woman says with a serious tone and look on her face.
Vidhi looks at her with confusion and concern, “How do you know my name even though I don’t know who you are…”
“Oh you know me, my name is Delara, and I’m the celestial of dreams and love,” she puts her hands on her hips.
Before Vidhi could say anything else, Delara continued, “But that’s not what’s important right now, we need to go back to the celestial realm and make plans to figure out who and what these shadows are! We need to act!”
“You are right, but I can’t go back… not without knowing what’s going to happen to them next…” Vidhi looks down and puts his hands in his pockets.
“But, if you’re doing nothing but watching them, you’re no better than a person doing nothing to prevent something.” Delara in a serious tone, lectured Vidhi, “Besides, they can look after themselves while we watch and plan from the celestial realm.”
Vidhi, unable to come up with a retort, agrees to take action and goes back to the celestial realm with Delara.
With the shadows becoming more aggressive and Alvin and Priscilla’s encounter, the threads of fate are churning even more for each passing situation.
