A Few Minutes Later…
After landing the ship in a lake Carmen modeled after the lake in her favorite park in real life, Trinity Park, she and her siblings stepped out the vehicle. Carmen proceeded to pull up a hologram map of the surrounding area and navigated the group to their final destination.
The siblings stood in front of a restaurant named “The Last Lotus” shown on the front in a medium sized light up bill board. Carmen ran up the stairs to the front door of the building and motioned for everyone to follow her inside. Once the group entered the building they spotted a young adult women around Varians age sitting on a couch in the lounge area of the restaurant reading a book. She had perfect dark skin and her brown hair was tied up in a neat bun with a star themed hair pin going thru it. Her long periwinkle dress had glitter in its fabric causing it to shine a bit in the light of the room.
“Guys, I would like you to meet one of my friends from this world, Leilani,” Carmen introduced her friend who placed down her book and walked over to them.
“Hello everyone. Your sister had told me a lot about you guys. As you already know my name is Leilani and I am the daughter of the late Pantheon pilot Deshrets. I’m currently stay here to recover from an attempted abduction that happened last night,” Leilani explained to the rest her situation.
“Oh that’s horrible. Hope you get better soon,” Varian said as Enola and Inez nodded in agreement to their wish for Leilanis speedy recovery.
“Yeah and don’t worry about that dude Killian. We’ll kick his ass for you,” Enola said as she punched a fist into her own hand.
“Yeah he wont know what hit him!,” Inez said with a mischievous grin.
“Thank you all for your kind words,” said Leilani ,warmly.
“And speaking about recovery you should be in bed right now. You’re still not fully healed yet,” Carmen told her in a worried tone.
“I just wanted to meet your siblings. I heard so much about them that I just had to leap at the opportunity to see them for the first time. Besides I know nothing bad can happen to me when your around,” Leilani said before placing a comforting hand on Carmen’s shoulder.
“Well looks like I have to go back to bed but I’ll still be here once you all come back from your mission. If you need me ask the birds to call me.”
Leilani soon walked up the stairs while leaning on the railings before making it to the top and entering a bed room.
“She seems nice,” Varian said with a smile.
“Yeah and I mean by what I said about kicking Killians ass. Now all I need is a gun, bullets, and a camera,” Enola said as she counted the items off her fingers.
“How the hell is the camera gonna help us get rid of the guy?,” Inez asked confused by her sisters need for a camera.
“To take pictures of us doing our celebratory dance after we defeat him obviously.”
The other three just glanced at each other with raised eyebrows and deadpanned expressions.
“Fine! We wont get a camera. But I’m still kicking his ass into the sun!”
“Well why you guys plan on what you’re going to do I’m going to get us transportation for the mission. It’s not here so I have to go out and get it. You guys stay here until I get back okay. You guys can get whatever you want in here for the journey. Knock yourselves out!,” Carmen said as she walked back out the door before opening it once more and poking her head in once more to give them a stern look.
“And don’t be too loud. Leilani is sleeping upstairs and she needs to rest so I would love it if you guys didn’t wake her up. That’s all. Bye!,” Carmen said before finally leaving her siblings alone in a cafe filled with magical items and no parental supervision. The three slowly looked at each other before making mischievous grins.
A few minutes later Varian sat on the front steps of the restaurant and looked at the lively city around him. Carmen had left to find a way for them to travel to the academy without using one of her portals that she regularly used while working on the sim since she wanted to let them be as cautious as can be. The other two were inside getting ready for the mission by packing supplies such as normal office supply as well as more complicated items such as potions and glyph papers that Carmen hid around the area of the restaurant. He was messing around with a hologram cat that Carmen created to accompany her while she created the sim. Her sister had named her Felicitte as a tribute to the first cat that went to space.
“Varian do you want anything for yourself?,” Inez asked as she poked her head out the door. She had a bag that seemed to be filled to the brim with items.
Varian carefully picked up Felicitte and went inside the restaurant.
The building had a forest theme to it due to the various plants that decorated the walls and corners of the first floor. He noticed that a few of them were even sentient as he watch a Venus Flytrap plant wave over to him. He waved back with a small smile.
“Ok first off this is really cool. I would kill to live in the place like this in real life. Second, yes I need to have a school bag to take with me. Preferably with a space for Felicitte to hide in. And thirdly, are you really going to bring all of that with you?,” Varian asked humorously as he inspected the large bag that Inez carried that seemed about ready to explode.
“Yes. Yes I am. So what of it? It’s not like it’s heavy or anything. This is a sim after all. None of this is heavy in real life,” Inez reminded him as she held the bag in one hand like it was nothing. The physics in the world worked with the suits but Carmen decided to give them physical upgrades to make everything easier for them. She said it was easy to program stuff for avatars since they were more personalized to each one of them.
“Well that is true,” Varian agreed with her as he scratch his chin while he thought about the advantage that they had in the world.
At that very moment Enola came hopping down the stairs with a couple of strange looking bags in her hand. They looked like portfolio bags that detectives used in crime movies but these were colored purple, blue, and red instead of the usual brown.
“Look what I found! Infinite bags!,” Enola exclaimed before handing a purple one to Varian and a red one to Inez. The two looked at them with pure amazement. When Inez opened hers she saw a whole empty galaxy inside and a screen on the inside of the flap.
“Woah this bag has a whole universe inside it!,” said Inez as she poked her head inside the bag and looked out into the empty space.
“Wait! Does this mean we could fit an infinite amount of stuff in here?!,” Varian asked in excitement which Enola responded with an enthusiastic nod.
Enola soon showed off the panel in the inside of her bags flap that had storage sorting icons ranging from food to weapons.
“Even has a sorting system in there so we could just find anything and take it out. Watch this!”
She quickly typed in the word diamond apple into the screen and the item appeared on a cloud in the view of her bag as if it was dragged from inside the swirling galaxy. She took it out of her bag and showed it off like she was doing a commercial for a hair shampoo which earned them laughter from her siblings.
“I wonder if Felicitte can rest inside here,” Varian said to himself as he tried to find an animal icon on the panel.
The cat seemed to have heard him as she jumped on his shoulder before quickly hopping into the bag. Varian and the rest looked surprised by this and peered down inside the bag to find Felicitte floating about the space inside the bag. She soon conjured up a bed made out of clouds and relaxed on it earning a couple of awws from the trio.
“If this can carry anything than this got a whole lot more easier,” Inez said happily before grabbing the big bag from her shoulder and stuffing into the bag. She stomped on it to make it go inside before it went through. She picked up her Infinite bag and showed it off like a runway would do.
“Simple! Practical! The Santa Bag! Get your today,” Inez said as she playfully smirked while wiggling her eyebrows to the others which caused everyone to burst with laughter.
“That’s it! I’m becoming Santa Claus and traveling the world! Goodbye everyone!,” Enola jokingly said before she dramatically threw her bag over he shoulder and did a runway walk until she could no longer keep her composer and collapsed on the floor in a fit of giggles. Her siblings soon followed.
“I’m glad you guys are enjoying my world but we better get going,” Carmen interrupted them which earned her screams from her siblings. They all looked terrified at the sudden appearance of their sibling. Despite the fact she does this regularly in the real world, by accident, she still scares them from time to time.
“Holy fuck at least knock on the door first!,” Enola scolded her as she scrambled to get up from the floor.
“Sorry. I was kind of in a hurry to get you guys since the exam starts in one hour. So everybody in the car!,” Carmen said as she gestured to the van that was parked out front. It was painted light blue and had streaks of green and orange on its side. A name could be seen on the side which reads “The Vanpire”.
“I’m guessing this is another one of your inventions. Cause I could clearly see this looks like a tribute to another favorite show of ours,” Varian commented as he inspected the van.
Carmen responded with finger guns.
“You guessed correct my dear buddy. Say hello to the Vanpire! This vehicle is gonna get us to the academy. Now hop on!,” Carmen responded before she raced to the driver seat of the van. Her siblings followed suit.
