I clenched my fists gripping in frustration at failing to ask such a simple question. I kept glancing at her from the corner of my eye, watching as she laughed and chatted with her friends, her face glowing with that kind smile. Just then, the morning announcements came on mentioning a club fair later today in the gym. My heart jumped with excitement I had another chance to put my plan into action.
The rest of the lesson felt endless, but finally, the bell rang. Our teacher told us to grab our things quickly so we wouldn’t be late. In the hallway, students from every class were hurrying toward the gym, and when we arrived, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe. Booths lined the room each representing a different club: sports, literature, theater, and more.
As I wandered through, admiring the displays, a woman at one of the booths waved me over. “Hey, you! Come here,” she called out.
“Huh?” I asked, caught off guard.
“You look like you’d be great for the theater club!” she said, smiling. I hesitated, a bit feeling skeptical, but eventually agreed and signed up, thinking it could be interesting.
After that I continued exploring until suddenly I spotted her—my mystery girl. Heart pounding, I took a deep breath and started walking toward her.
