While Vidar walks, Sprite notices somebody standing a few feet away from Vidar before Vidar himself notices. Sprite, sounding confused, says, "Who are you?"
The man responds, "Mere mortals such as yourself may call me Xenon, an Eternal Titan whose interest in you has grown upon hearing the city folk talk about how a Griffon-born has returned."
Sprite, in the mind of Vidar, says, "Well, it seems like news travels fast around here, huh?"
Vidar, uneasy, did not make a single move until he said, "Why did you take my sister?"
Xenon never thought he'd lose, especially not to a Griffon-Born so young. He was outmatched at every move, his opponent was not only faster and stronger but clearly a prodigy in every sense of the word. The humiliation of so decisive a defeat weighed heavily on Xenon's shoulders, his courage gone.
"That is unimportant to me; what is important is seeing if you are a Griffon-Born or a weakling who would die before he reaches adulthood."
Now angry, Vidar screams, "Where is Reya?!"
Xenon smiled and laughed, saying, "You'll have to find that out."
Vidar, struggling to contain his frustration, yelled, "You bring her back this instant!" He launched toward Xenon.
Xenon sees this and almost immediately summons clones of himself in front of him, and the battle begins. With difficulty, Vidar manages to take out the clones one by one, but Xenon chuckles, sucker-punching Vidar.
Xenon thought of his past, of being captured and nearly killed, his mind drifting to that mysterious figure he couldn't forget. He remembers the figure's words: "You will eventually seek me out, do not fail me."
Xenon says, "Is this the power of a Griffon-born?"
He begins to walk away, making Vidar more fueled. Vidar, enraged, yells, "I'm not finished with you, Xenon! You hear me? I'm going to defeat you."
Vidar shoots branches behind himself to propel him closer to Xenon. Xenon creates another clone of himself behind Vidar. The clone grabbed him by the legs and slammed him to the ground, surprising him as he was exhausted and breathing heavily.
Xenon laughs and says, "You're no match for me." Xenon uses his power to create a water droplet bigger than Vidar and himself combined effortlessly and lets the heavy water droplet fall on Vidar. The water on Vidar is so heavy that it's hard for him to move.
Xenon says, "This is only a fraction of my power," and laughs.
"Just wait till I get my hands on you."
Xenon evaporates from thin air, and through the night, Vidar hears the wind by the trees and hears Xenon whisper, "You'll never get your sister back."
Feeling angered and disappointed with himself that he couldn't beat Xenon, Vidar cries as he feels his world crumbling apart. Sprite tells Vidar that he needs to get stronger to save his sister.
Vidar told Sprite, "If I can't defeat Xenon, how can I get her back?"
"For now, let's return to Pyro Myrtle tavern to gather our thoughts, have a drink, and plan what to do next."
Vidar, sensing Sprite is trustworthy, decides to do what he suggests. Vidar sighed as the sandstorm started making its way closer to the city. They sprint towards the tavern.
In a mystical world where extraordinary individuals harness elemental powers, Vidar, a Griffinborn with a unique connection to these forces, embarks on a life-altering journey as he confronts the malevolent sorcerer Xenon.
