Chapter 9
Adam

"Hey Adam, Adam... Wake up it's time for work!"
"Alfred?!"
"Good morning sleepy head. It's time to work at the cafe! It's your first day!"
"Right..."
I really really hate waking up early for anything, but it was for a good reason. I feel like a big weight has been lifted off my back since Alfred and Natalie offered me to work for them. It was a really nice offer since on my own I don't know where I'd end up, plus they've told me that they have been looking for a new worker for months. Doing angel work in heaven was exhausting.
"Meow, meowwwww"
"Toast !!!"
My eyes lit up. This fluffy fur ball named toast has been the best thing to happen since i fell. How can a creature this small be so cute. Its purring does wonders! it's like all my failures just wash away!
"Alfred! I'm ready!"
"Okay little dude! Let me just say goodbye to my wife."
This was exhilarating! I like that their cafe is right below their apartment ! So I don't even have to walk a lot. Since my wound are still a bother. Alfred said goodbye to his wife and came over to open the door for me, he was such a nice soul. I bet God would be proud of him. We went outside to a very small balcony with stairs that led to the main street where the cafe was located. Alfred was in front of me and opened the door to the cafe. A smell of fresh coffee and deserts washed over me, and a woman who I presume was Scarlet stood there and greeted Alfred and I.
"Heyyyyy!!! My name is Scarlet. I'm so excited to meet you!!! Alfred has told me so much about you! He told me you're a big animal lover. And it just so happens I have a pet hamster. Her name is Cream Puff!"
A small creature went outside Scarlet's apron and climbed on her shoulder.
"Isn't she just the cutest little thing!"
"Hello, cream puff!!! Is it alright if I pet her?"
"Sure!! Just be careful she can bite."
I went to pet her, and she flopped on her back. She was really cute!!!
"Okay, you two enough with the animal talk it's time to start work!"
Alfred had a big grin on his face, I guess he's always that happy. After our little introduction, Alfred and Scarlet showed me the basic stuff like how to clean up and wash the plates cups, etcetera. They told me that Scarlet would take care of cooking for now since I just started which I guess is fine, I still think they should of showed me the basics, I would of liked to know the basics..
