After defeating all the masked people and tied them to the pillar, Fabian and the girl approached them.

“Consort Huidi!” the guards bowed to her.

She inquired the guards about the situation. They informed them that the prince has staged a coup with the help of the consort Xuqing and several regional warlords.

"Is the Emperor safe?"

"My lady.. the Emperor has been captured by the rebels.." said the other guard.

The princess was horrified.

"The royal consorts are imprisoned in their palace. The rebels brought the emperor and the grand empress to the Qirlin palace.." The guard muttered "We tried to save them but their number are too great."

“You must escape my lady, they are looking for you..”

The princess shook her head before turning to Rein “You should escape the palace and safe your friends-”

“Huh?” Rein confused.

“I- I will stay and try reason with the prince, i hope-”

“But- my lady.. you should escape with them, we will provide a diversion!” said the guard.

“No, i need to be on the emperor’s side..”

“Boss, what are we going to do?” Garland muttered.

Rein scratched his hair, they already meddled too much with this planet affair, but if the coup failed we can safe everyone he thought. “Alright! we will storm the palace and stop the coup,” he looked at his friends.

"It’s payback time!" Kincade smacking his fist.

"Okay boss!" Garland cheered.

Fabian shook his head "You guys are too enthusiastic.."

Rein raised his hand "Let's go!"

“But-” the girl protested.

“Don’t worry princess,” said Kincade “We’ll safe your emperor.”

“Yeah,” Garland nodded.

The girl bowed to them “Thank you.. we will be forever in you debt..”

They ran to the Qirlin palace with the guards. When they reached there, Kincade kicked the doors so hard it flew from the hinges and hitting the rebels who were guarding the doors. The emperor's brother was shocked seeing them there. The emperor and the grand empress were on the knees, his spiral hat was now worn by his brother.

“Huidi!” the emperor wailed “Please! Escape from this place!”

"You- you! how? they should have taken care all of you!"

"Those rabble?" Kincade laughed "Should had sent an army," he gave Rein a thumbs up "pretty cool huh?"

"Right.."

"Prince Jiaom! release the emperor and the grand empress!"

"You should have died! The curse-" princess Xuqing yelled.

"Lady Xuqing.. why.." the girl despaired.

"As long as you live, i will never be chosen as the empress!"

"Terminate these vermin!" the prince ordered a man with weird getup beside him.

The weird looking man motioning his hands while chanting gibberish, creating a wall of wind between them. The man spun his hands, summoning a ball of fire.

“The shaman!” the guard wailed.

“It is just a sham!” Fabian groaned.

“Don’t you see he’s summoning fire from his hands!?” Kincade yelled “I’m going in!” but he was unable to get through the impenetrable wall of wind.

The fireball on his palms grew bigger, the shaman laughed as he raised his hands.

The guards raised their shield to protect the princess “Everyone get back!”

However, before he could unleashed the fire ball, his head jerked backward and he fell to the floor, the wall of wind slowly died down. Rein blinked and everyone there was also confused.

“Uh..what just happen?” asked Kincade.

Rein saw Garland hanging on the pillar while aiming his arm at the Shaman. He shot him with the same device for taming Deedee. “That shut him up,” he said after landing on the floor.

“Good thinking..” said Rein.

The emperor’s brother kicked the unconscious shaman, cursing at his incompetence. He ordered the warlords there and their underling to attack them. One of them was a huge man, even bigger than Kincade, lifting a huge axe on his shoulder. He destroy a pillar beside him in one swoop which caused the palace guards to trembled.

"That's General Tahu!" the girl shuddered.

“Can you put him to sleep like that shaman?” Rein suggested

Garland aiming his arm the general but blocked him “Hey!”

“I want to fight him,” said Kincade “Alone..”

“You sure?” said Rein, staring at the general.

“Suits you then..” Garland put away the device.

The girl stared at him in disbelief "He's the most feared-"

"Most feared eh?" Kincade chuckled.

Rein looking at the general "I felt sorry for him.."

"He will kill you-"

"It will be fine," Fabian calmed the girl “He’s stronger don’t worry..”

“But-”

Kincade pointed at the general and shouted “I challenge you for a duel!”

“He’s crazy!” one of the guard yelled “No one had ever survived against general Tahu..”

The general slammed his axe on the floor "A clown dare to face me?" he snide, staring down at Kincade.

“Scared?” Kincade moving his hand towards him.

The rebels ridiculed Kincade, but the prince yelled “Don’t underestimate them!”

“Me! the god of war! scared of this insect?” the general laughed.

They both walked closer. The general grinned and swung his axe at Kincade, but he grabbed it and crushed it with his hand. The general flinched, enabling Kincade to uppercut right on his chin, making a loud crunch.

“Ouch..” said Garland.

The girl and the guards were awed seeing the general slamming to the floor, twitching.

Fabian went to examined the general "You broke his jaw, you have gone too far Cade.."

"Oh come on, i didn’t know he’s that weak.. why are you bother treating him?"

"A patient is a patient.."

Prince Jiaoum making a loud groan, he ordered the rebels to attack them.

“Stay back!” Rein told the princess. He and the others charged at the prince’s lackey. Despite their number, they were no match for Rein and his friends. Rein ran past through the rebels directly to the prince and smacked his face with the spatula, maybe a bit too hard, teeth flew from his mouth, ending the coup.

"That’s anti climatic.." Kincade sighed, punching the last warlord standing.

Fabian ran around to tended everyone including the rebels. When he saw the prince’s face now swollen really badly, he glanced at Rein and shook his head.

“Uh.. sorry..” he said while returning the bent spatula to Kincade.

Loud commotion outside and the door burst open as a masked man flew inside. Laylah barged in, readying her fist, but she looks surprised seeing them there. Kincade praised her. Her face turned red and quickly covered it with her hair.

After Fabian healed the emperor, the girl helped him to stood up. The grand empress was shaken but fortunately she’s not hurt.

Princess Jiaom and consort Xuqing were brought before the Emperor. Glaring at his brother, he ordered the guards to immediately executed all the rebels including prince Jiaom and Consort Xuqing.

The girl however asked the Emperor to gave them some lenience. She suggested stripping them of their titles and exiled them to the border, while the warlords and the remaining rebels including general Tahu were subjected to forced labor. The Emperor was mad, but he agreed with the princess and ordered the guards to imprisoned them in the dungeon. Prince Jiaom and consort Xuqing cursed at them as they were being led away by the guards.

The ministers and the other ladies entered the palace. The dragonfly lady knelt in front of the Emperor, she requested a severe punishment because her niece had tarnished the empire. The Emperor told her to stood up as she was not responsible for her niece action, he asked the attendants to bring the franctic dragonfly lady back to her chamber to get some rest.

"Now for our savior." the Emperor turned to Rein and his friend. He and everyone there bowed their heads to them.

Rein was embarrassed "Your majesty, we were just helping the princess."

"Nevertheless, as a thank you for saving me and the empire.. i will grant you 100.000 shilinq and some of our national treasure of your choosing," said the emperor.

"Your majesty.. but we have to decli-"

"I insist.." the emperor bowed to them again "Guards, bring their companion to the palace."

The princess thanked them for helping the empire. She looked at Fabian "Thank you for saving my life, and.. if possible may i see the face of my savior.."

"I am sorry my lady, but that is impossible," he glanced at Rein "i have a reason to not showing my face."

The princess nodded, she once again thanked Fabian and the others before returning to the emperor’s side. The Emperor ordered his guards and ministers to repaired festival area in preparation for tonight sky lamp event.

Eleanor and the others entered the palace, escorted by the guards. Eleanor hugged Rein, while Rose asked him why they were being summoned. He told them they will be receiving gifts.

“I want cake!” Dianna cheered.

The minister asked them to followed him to the treasury. When they arrived there, they were awed to see all kind of intricate items.

“No cake?” Dianna disappointed.

“A cake?” the minister confused “I- I’ll tell the cook-”

“Anna!” Sierra shook her head “Don’t mind her.” she told the minister.

“I’ll bake a cake for you went we’re back the ship,” said Kincade.

The minister told them to chose one item for each of them. Rein didn't knew what to chose, the others were also confused.

He whispered to his friends "let's just pick the simplest looking one.."

"Hmm.. I'll take this one then.." Garland took a small bird sculpture made of red gemstone.

"I’ll take this.." Rose hugged a doll wearing ancient clothing "So cute!"

Eleanor chose a hairpin decorated with transparent beads; Fabian picked an old book; Both Kincade and Laylah took a slab of blue metal; Sierra grabbed an antique coin; while Dianna chose an animal shaped whistle.

After some thought, Rein decided for a small green marble. They shown all their chosen item to the minister. His only comment was they all have really good eyes, those were the empire most priced treasures. Rein laughed awkwardly. The minister told them the grand empress also gifted Eleanor and the others a dress for tonight festival.
