Seconds before Light saw her silhouette, Zoe was on top of the immense walls that protect the kingdom, feeling the wind and smelling the smoke from the flames. The sound of the burning wood of the houses screamed in her ears, and made it difficult to perceive.
If someone had been with her on top of the great stone walls, they would have seen a girl with snow-white hair that looked silky smooth. Her hair was short and layered, with longer strands on top of her head styled up and to the side, creating volume and texture. The sides and back were shorter. Her bangs were blowing in the wind, making everything look messy and choppy.
Her skin is pale and cold, resembling the color of Botticelli marble. Her nose is thin and upturned. Her face has the shape of an inverted triangle, with slightly marked cheekbones. Her upper lip is slightly thinner than the lower one, characterized by a more striking shade of pink.
The outer garment covers almost all the other clothing underneath. Over the top of the garment is a blue cape, the color of lapis lazuli, with the shoulders and neck covered in white and silver animal fur. The cape is about one meter and twenty centimeters long and reaches down to the beginning of the legs.
Beneath the cape, Zoe wears a blue frock coat with a high collar, buttoned to the waist and with flaps that wrap around the body. The buttons are white with a spiral symbol marked in gold. From te waist down, she wears charcoal black pants and high boots with interlacing laces.
The only thing that cannot be seen are his eyes, which are covered by a makeshift blindfold made of gauze, tied behind his head.
In this chaotic but contemplative scene, with the air ruffling her cape, her hair, and the gauze ribbons behind her head, Zoe can imagine what is happening just by hearing and smelling.
And then, suddenly, a clap of thunder can be heard in the distance, and a flame that burns brighter than the others is also noticed.
Even though there is mana practically everywhere, and it is impossible to quantify it, it is noticeable that there is an exotic movement of mana where the thunder came from. It is as if the mana was out of control and accelerated.
Without wasting any time, the Supreme Mage jumps onto the roof of a house and starts running at a speed as great as Light and William.
In a matter of seconds, Zoe feels that she is approaching what would be that unstable mana from before and, with her senses, she notices two boys without any trace of mana lying on the roof of a house.
The bodies of the two create a sort of empty outline when trying to detect the mana around them.
That was exactly the last vision Light had before he lost consciousness.
The blindfolded girl looks ahead and notices that the mana has collided with the wall in the distance, it's as if the dust is settling. The outline of the wall serves perfectly to know where the attack collided, but Zoe doesn't notice. In fact, very few mages have accurate mana detection, most of them don't even bother to dedicate themselves to it, however, Zoe is dedicating herself to this for reasons that few understand.
She comes down from the roof of the house and immediately notices Marco's mana, which appears almost extinguished. The man is sitting on the side where the attack landed. Marco has extreme difficulty breathing, and feels that his mind does not control his movements as before. Light's attack must have had some effect that left Marco's neural system partially weakened.
Even though Zoe wasn't able to sense Marco's mana, his breathing could be distinguished among the noise of the flames.
"What happened here?" Zoe Ethy thinks, trying to understand how two children managed to do such a lot of damage.
Since Zoe is blindfolded, even with mana detection she is unable to identify people by their faces, which is a major disadvantage.
Marco, with blurred vision, hears footsteps coming towards him. Lifting his face slightly, he can see boots slowly approaching.
"Is that you?" Marco asks as he lifts his face even more, seeing a silhouette that begins to become clear. "Supreme Mage, isn't it?" The man with his destroyed body, blown-out shoulder, torn-off fingers, asks.
"Yes, it's me." She answers with an assertive tone. "And who would I be talking to?" Zoe already suspects it's her enemy, but asks anyway.
"Why should I answer?" The man says. "Although that already answers a lot." Marco finishes.
"Marco Loifwi, I presume."
"Yes, that's right."
