The sun's rays started to poke bossy right into Helena's eyes. She tried to cover her eyes but instead touched something similar to human skin in the attempt. And that was not hers. She got up heavily; her head was hurting as hell, and her vision was still blurry. The hangover was a real deal.
Once she got up, she realized that the solid, hot, uncomfy thing she was sleeping on was, in fact, Kaji. Sun's rays poked him right into his eyes when she instinctively covered it with her hands. He was beautiful; that eclectic visual was something not just anyone could foresee.
"What a waste," she said, whispering while admiring him.
"What is that waste?" he asked in a hoarse voice. He was just as messed up as she was.
Helena laughed as loud as she could. She felt like that view was just reserved for her at that moment. He let out a heavy breath of relief.
"Helena, can you get down now?" she looked at him confused. "you're still on top of me and youre heavy." she punched him on his chest while getting down in a hurry after realizing it.
"How did that happen?" murmured her, noticing everything would be in his place.
He looked at her intensely. Her hair was a mess, as was her makeup, and the scene of her throwing a tantrum while drunken last night was just as hilarious as it could be. He couldn't stop himself from laughing at the thought of that scene reliving in his mind.
"What are you thinking about?" pouted her while he was stroking her head while getting up. "it's a secret," continued him, going to prepare some coffee.
Kaji was someone people were afraid to approach; Leaches was attracted like he was intended in honey. Kaji had a great mind but was also a rebel, different from other rich kids; he did not care if he lost everything. Helena admired him when she rarely saw him at a high-society party. He seemed free, unlike a bird closed into a cage like herself.
"Bathroom is that way," said him, pouting toward the corridor. "use it while I prepare breakfast," saying so, he took some croissants from his freezer and turned over the oven. She went to the bathroom and noticed her face was a complete mess. "Did he see my face like this..." She was baffled; her mascara was down, her lipstick was out of her lips, and she was like a panda after a drinking party if pandas could do that!
When she went in the shower, she remembered that her only clothes were the party dress. "Am I dumb?" she asked herself, laughing.
"Hey, I will put a shirt and some shorts out here," said Kaji from outside before leaving.
She took the towel from the cabinet, opened the door, and took the clothes. Although they were man clothes, they were more than enough at that moment.
She wore the shirt, which was remarkably big—it was like a dress for her. Her aspect in the mirror was just as hilarious. Then she wore the shorts, too. Fortunately, they had strings to adjust them to her measurements.
She looked like a potato in a bag, ready to be scanned and sent to be sold. It was not the moment to be sarcastic; Kilee's clothes were the same, so no one would suspect a thing even if she went home like that. That was an excellent excuse.
Her mouth started drooling at that moment, and the sweet scent of baked croissants reached her.
She stepped outside the bathroom, following that smell back to the kitchen. Once there, she saw Kaji taking the fuming croissants and placing them on the plate. He was very concentrated. That visual of him made her giggle; it was now something only a few could see.
He heard her giggle and turned around. What he saw was a tiny woman wearing way too big clothes. Her features were regular: big, round brown eyes and brown, wavy, long hair. But the fact that she had those common traits somehow made her sparkle more. There were no words to express that.
They sat back on the sofa they had sat on last evening while drinking, and the view completely changed, even if it was the same place.
Helena took a huge bite of that chocolate croissant; it was perfect. Was there a patisserie that good in that area? She looked straight at him, munching like a squirrel with round checks. Seeing that Kaji almost spit out his coffee from laughing, it was too much for him to keep his composure.
Her eyes sparkled with enchantment as she looked at his golden hair, which caught sunlight radiating brilliance like rays of pure gold. It made his eyes glimmer like the most transparent mountain water. A warmth of embarrassment washed over her, leaving her breathless while her heart was pounding.
He looked at her tiny squirrel checks, blushing while staring toward the giant window before them. He felt like she found himself a good friend.
"About Director K and Maria..." asked him, slurping from his coffeè. He was right. That made her stop, and she turned toward him with sparkling eyes.
She was dying to know what had happened between them. The way they looked at each other during the meal was difficult not to notice.
"What about them?" she continued with a strange smirk, making Kaji impatient.
"Are those two dating?" he asked, making Helena choke while nodding, saying it was not the case. Kaji needed more convincing.
"Then... " continued he, looking at her. "Can I ask her out?" That made Helena's eyebrow twist. It was a clear answer that appeared at the moment in her mind. "You can't," that was her ship, and those two already had feelings for each other. She was sure of it.
He breathed out heavily, pointing and throwing a tantrum. "I knew they were dating," he said, stroking his face before turning toward Helena again. "Did you see how those fools were looking at each other?" he continued.
She was pleased to hear that but also somehow impatient.
"Do you like Maria?" asked her with a weight on her chest.
"She's beautiful, " he said, making her heart pound.
"But no, I'm not interested in her like that," he continued. It was funny to see that tremendous Director K anxious, that's all." His grin competed with Helena's shock. She thought he was interested in Maria, but he had been playing with Kilee all along.
"That man is insane, don't you think so, Helena? " She was too shocked to speak, but one thing was sure: He, like all the others, was convinced that Kilee was a man.
After discovering that her boyfriend was cheating, Maria was offered a job at B-Corp, the company of her dreams. However, she was surprised to be hired as the secretary for the workaholic director, Kyle. The only hope remains that they will understand each other over time and eventually learn to communicate. Or will there be more?
