There was a strange atmosphere around that office. It was the same as always, but something was sizzling in the air. Helena was sure of it; something had happened between those two, and she could smell that her ship was sailing from the port.
"Helena, did you receive the new proposal from the Olsens?" she checked and checked. That was the third time Kilee asked for that proposal. "I'm sorry, not yet," answered Helena while carefully glancing at Maria, who was blushing under her pressure.
"God-dammit those assholes," could be understood Kilee's umor; they insisted on that project, then they also postponed it. That was unprofessional from every point of view, but it couldn't be ignored because they were also business partners for a long time.
"Should I make another request for the submission of the file?" Helena asked repeatedly, updating the email.
"No, it's almost lunchtime. Ignore it." Kilee did not like that company; she needed a pretext to cut ties.
"You can go, Helena. Just send me a memo when it arrives, and also check on how the business with Soleil is going. "Helena nodded while going away. Soleil was Kaji's company, and he said the business was going well last Sunday morning.
--
The day earlier.
"Soleil and B-corp business program is doing great!" Kaji was happy with the outcome. "Soon, I will send you the report," he continued with a full-throttle smile.
"Yeah, you should! Or Director K will eat me alive, " she continued, making Kaji laugh.
"yeah i thought so.." continued him.
---
Back to the present.
"You better keep your promise, Kaji," she told herself, ready to exit the elevator. Once its doors opened, there was standing Ioan looking at the advice paper on its doors clearly saying,
Access denied to the employee! Ask the secretaries for any advice!
Director K.
It was clear it was meant for him; Maria was behind that, thought Ioan, who did not notice Helena getting out of the elevator.
"Do you have any problem?" asked her, approaching him.
"No.. nothing, excuse me," answered him, getting away just as fast as a cockroach trying to hide himself. She couldn't scroll that slimy sensation while talking with him.
Ioan returned to his position as he should; Portia looked at him disgustingly. He was as foolish as she thought; it would be easy to manipulate him to make her plan successful.
At that moment, a message on her phone arrived: 'H. 22 - Room 27 - 6 floor.' The man wanted to know how things were going, so she had to think fast about something, or it would be trouble.
"This old hag, dare to pressure me." That man and her father worked together so she couldn't ignore them.
That evening came in way too fast, and she was impatient in front of room 27. She took a breath in and knocked at the door. It took two minutes to open that door, two long, long minutes, and to open it was her father.
"You're late, Portia," said him, grinning his teeth. That manner was making her sick. "I'm just in time," she replied as she entered the room.
"Mr. Gill, nice to see you again," said Portia, smiling while approaching him.
"Oh, here you are, sweetheart! " That man was as sly as a fox but made an utter fortune in the last years because of his unethical ways.
She hugged him as she always did, but at that moment, she noticed another woman sitting on the sofa near him.
"Who's she? " Portia asked, crossing her arms. The woman stood up at that affirmation. "Nice to meet you. I'm Irina." A Small girl with long reddish hair and brown eyes, her look was uncommon, but her hair made that old geezer drool as he smiled as a fool.
"I'm Portia, pleased to meet you." She couldn't believe they had recruited another person for that plan; it would be complicated if she were a spy.
"She will be important. Please take care of her," asked the old geezer. And make her know that little sales director." Portia grinned. That was a higher task than she thought. The man they were asking for was Director K's brother Stephan, who would return from Europe soon.
"Isn't that dangerous?" she asked, but she was interrupted before finishing her phrase. " It could have been better if you had taken Director K," Mr. Gill sarcastically answered. She was fuming. How dare he say that to her face? He did not know how hard that man was to approach.
Portia looked at that woman. She was suitable as the cafè server, as she remembered that man loved cofeè with all his might.
"He loves coffeè as much as his job, so how about she becomes a cafè server?" said Portia, turning toward Irina.
"Coffeè server?" interrupted the man angrily.
"Think carefully. That way, she would be able to approach him without problems, and her tiny figure would stand out easily to him." Portia was a scheming woman. She had already dumped down a company in the past, but this one had different circumstances.
They all went silent for a few moments while Portia sat beside Irina.
"Portia is right," said her father. "I saw that man plenty of times; he's a sucker for coffeè and for their company cafè at most," continued him.
"All right. What do you think, Irina?" Mr. Gill asked politely, as she was his new favorite toy.
"If you say it's good for me, I should listen to you," Irina answered, smiling softly. She was sure that the woman was a vixen with the appearance of a bunny.
"Isn't she sweet?" laughed the geezer. "is late now, so you should go home." Irina got up and asked him, "Aren't you going?" He was so pleased with her question. Unlike all the other women, she was the most accomplished one he found.
"I will; I still have some work with this man here," said inciting Portia's father. Both women nodded as they vented out.
"Don't work till late," said Irina before closing the door behind her.
Portia was amused by how her personality changed just after closing that door.
"Coffeè server?" said her. "Really?" she continued snorting.
"You will be pleased after seeing the man you have to covet," giggled Portia, amused while getting away.
