Forbidden Crush!

Anything serious?

Anything serious?

Dec 13, 2024

"I don't want to know what happened."

"So you don't want to know if Sanaya and I are friends or..." I closed my ear from my hand.

I interrupted, "I will get angry."

"Why? What's there that would make you feel jealous?"

"Not jealous! I just don't want to hear it. I'm going to sleep."

What is there that would make me feel jealous? I closed my eyes and pretended to sleep. I still remember when we met. You seemed like a normal person to me, no special feelings, but when things started, you were the only one I wanted to give my mind, body, and life to.

Now, a part of this story is so clear, but neither do you love me, nor do you have anything confirmed about what might happen in the future.

The bus stopped, everyone got out, had some tea, and then the bus started again. We reached early in the morning at 6 AM, and after a short while, we were shifted to the hostel. There were three people per room, and I was with Bhoomi and Aadhira. Bhoomi was sleeping in the middle.

Bhoomi said, "I forgive you for what your best friend did."

Aadhira said, "You stay, I'm going to meet Sanaya, taking a taxi from here."

I said, "Wait, I'm coming too."

Bhoomi said, "Then I'll come too."

"But why?" Aadhira asked.

"I'll meet Sanaya." Bhoomi said.

"Do you know Sanaya?"

"No, but I will get to know her," Bhoomi said nervously.

I said, "You'll get bored. Anyway, Sanaya is Aadhira's old best friend."

"Then I don't want to meet her," Bhoomi said angrily, laying down on the bed and falling asleep. Aadhira and I reached the place by taxi. The place was so beautiful, it felt like I had entered heaven. The air was so pleasant that it touched my heart.

In about an hour, we reached her house. Aadhira called Sanaya. Aadhira said, "Stand in front of your house so I can recognize it."

Sanaya was standing in front of a light green house. We stopped the car in front, Aadhira paid the fare, and I got out. As soon as Aadhira saw her, Sanaya hugged her.

Sanaya started crying! "I missed you so much!" Aadhira gently patted her head and said hello to me. We went inside, and she made some tea. We sat and started talking. Her house was painted ocean blue. It looked very beautiful to me. The vibe was peaceful, even though it had been a while.

"Sanaya! Tea wasn't necessary," she placed the tea on the table.

I remained silent, and Aadhira took a sip and asked, "Where's your husband?"

"Husband? Why not wife?" Sanaya asked

"You've become so modern? Fine, whoever it is." Aadhira replied.

"Whoever it is, respect! Anyway, he's not here."  Sanaya said.

"Not home?"

"No, not in this world." Sanaya said with emotional smile.

"Then why are you staying here? Come to Mumbai, alone." Aadhira replied.

"There's no reason," I was observing both of them, there wasn't a single picture of her husband in the house. Sanaya looked more beautiful than before.

Sanaya asked Aadhira, "Did you get married? You used to be crazy about someone, right?"

"Shhhuhhh, what are you saying? Kiara is here, don't embarrass me in front of her."

I laughed and said, "I know Aadhira had a crush, but she never told me."

I picked up the tea to take a sip, and Sanaya said, "I used to have a crush too on her." My tongue got burnt.

"The tea is hot," I said, forcing a laugh, though inside, I wanted to scream.

Aadhira said, "You never told me!"

"Come on, liar, you didn't know? I gave you so many hints."

"Kids give hints, you could have told me directly. Such a beautiful woman slipped through my hands." Aadhira smiled.

"Well, I'm still single!" Sanaya said.

"Don't you miss your husband?" Aadhira replied.

"No! He passed away a year after our marriage. After that, I got busy with work."

Why was Aadhira lying? She knew Sanaya wanted to marry her, but she told Sanaya she wasn't going to, or is this act just for my sake? I don't want to know, but without knowing, I won't have peace.

I asked, "Sanaya, what happened that day in the library in 10th grade, will you tell me?"

"That old incident..." Sanaya looked at Aadhira, "You didn't tell her what happened?" she said with a smile.

Aadhira said, "What's the point now? When I was telling you, you didn't want to listen. Now you're asking Sanaya?"

I said, trying with a natural laugh, "Aadhira, I wanted to hear it from Sanaya."

Aadhira said, "Alright, listen then!"

Sanaya said, "Aadhira and I were talking, and I said I wanted to try alcohol with her for the first time in my life, so we lied and went to a club. We drank, danced, and had a lot of fun. Then we started arguing about who would get married first.

To stop the argument, I suggested that we might as well get married to each other. Aadhira's cheeks turned as red as tomatoes. That's when I realized she could blush."

I asked, "So, you were her crush?"

Aadhira said, "Enough, stop talking about me."

Sanaya said, "You could say that, but whenever I flirted with her, she would get shy. Maybe she had something going on with girls in her life, but she never said if she was interested in girls or boys. But any girl who makes out with a guy must be straight, right?"

Aadhira said, "You were straight too, right? You had a boyfriend! What was his name?"

Sanaya said, "Dhanush."

"Yes, Dhanush."

"Yes, I was, and I still am."

So, Sanaya flirted with Aadhira just like she flirts with me. But is it possible that her crush was a girl? Blushing is a gay thing, right? No, it can't be. But Aadhira's mom did say she was kissing a girl. I should just say it.

"Aadhira might be gay or bi because her mom told me she was kissing a girl." I said.

Aadhira replied, "She was kissing me. I tried to stop her, but I slapped her. My mom didn't see that part."

Sanaya said, "Guys chill, I really miss our school days. Should we go visit? How long is the trip?"

I said, "Five days."

"Then let's go! Let's see where our school was, and we can meet Dhanush too."

What is happening here? How did this meetup turn into a trip? Let's just do the sightseeing!

Aadhira angrily said, "Fine, let's go, but I'm not meeting Dhanush."

I asked, "But why?"

Sanaya laughed and said, "Aadhira broke his nose when Dhanush broke up with her after two years."

I started laughing uncontrollably. "Then we have to meet Dhanush."

Aadhira is very strange. If there was nothing between her and Sanaya, why didn't she say so?

Aadhira said, "I've traveled a lot today, I'm going to sleep."

Aadhira went to sleep in Sanaya's room while Sanaya and I continued talking.

Sanaya asked, "Aren't you going to sleep?"

"No."

"So how are you? You never told her you had a crush on Aadhira?"

I was shocked and puzzled, "What? No way, Aadhira and I are just friends!" (I acted well)

"Yes, I saw! You never dated anyone."

"What's the point? My Dadi-amma (Aadhira-grandma) wouldn't have let me."

"Why didn't she let you? You could have just asked her!" She laughed.

"No need! She asked me instead." Oh, fuck! What did I just say? I put my hand over my mouth as if even I was shocked by it.

"You two are dating?"

"Yeah, you could say that, but I doubt it's anything serious."

"Did you kiss?"

"Wait, Nooo."

"Then what? Straight to Chiggy-wiggy?"

"What are you talking about?" I replied to calm down myself.

"Aadhira didn't do anything with you? That's strange... I always thought she was shy around girls."

"She's not shy at all, she took my towel..." Oh, fuck! again. I spill things so casually.

"What? She took your towel...? Something definitely happened!" Sanaya said excitedly.

"Yes! She keeps flirting with me like she's my girlfriend, even though we're just friends. when came out of the bathroom..."

"You came out of the bathroom..." Sanaya started screaming in excitement.

"Calm down, she'll wake up."

"Are you scared?"

"No."

Sanaya grabbed my hand and took me to Aadhira. "Come on, if you're not scared, wake her up."

"She'll get angry, you shouldn't wake a sleeping lioness." Stupid thing, someone just kill Sanaya for me.

Sanaya started laughing, "Why don't you admit it, you're scared."

I nervously went to wake her up and softly said, "Aadhira... Aadhira."

Aadhira still woke up in second. "Yes, Kiara?"

She woke up to my voice. I am socked. Now what do I say? "Sanaya said you had a crush on her."

 Sanaya said, "What?"

Aadhira drank some water first, then lit a cigarette. "No, it wasn't her."

"Then who was it?" I asked.

"Why don't you ask her? First Kiss?" Sanaya interrupted.

Aadhira replied, Angry "You guys woke me up just to ask that?"

"Oh, so when Kiara asks, you don't get angry, but when I ask, you do? Ugh," Sanaya replied.

Aadhira said, casually "Kiara!"

"Really?" I asked.

My eyes widening as my hand instinctively flew to cover my mouth. My shoulders tensed, and my breath hitched, as if the words had taken the air right out of my lungs. I blinked rapidly, trying to process what just happened, my body frozen. What? When? How? Am I?
