The Arrival

Chapter 1: The Arrival

A storm howled over a village once alive with laughter, now reduced to smoldering ruins. Blackened wood and crumbled walls jutted from the ground like broken bones, the acrid stench of burnt flesh and timber hanging thick in the air. Rain poured relentlessly, but it couldn’t wash away the devastation.

In the heart of the wreckage stood a lone figure—a black wolf, his fur gleaming like obsidian under the storm's fury. His glowing red eyes pierced the darkness, scanning the ruins with cold indifference. A scarred muzzle and torn ear only amplified his ominous presence.

Kneeling beside a collapsed hut, the wolf picked up a splintered bamboo staff. His claws traced the worn wood, a sneer twisting his lips. "Weak," he muttered, tossing it aside.

A faint whimper broke the silence. Beneath the rubble of a fallen home, a trembling goose clutched a basket to her chest. The wolf's gaze snapped to her, and he approached with slow, deliberate steps. With one swift motion, he grabbed her by the collar, lifting her effortlessly.

"P-please," the goose gasped, terror in her voice. "Don't hurt me!"

The wolf tilted his head, his voice cold and sharp. "Where is the Dragon Warrior?"

The goose's eyes widened in fear. "I... I don't know! In the Jade... the Valley of Peace..."

The wolf's sneer deepened. "Where?"

Her voice broke. "Jade Palace! The Dragon Warrior is there!"

He released her, letting her crumple to the ground. As she whimpered, a distant child’s cry pierced the air. The wolf paused, his ears twitching. Without another glance at the goose, he vanished into the shadows, his chilling words carried by the storm: "I am coming for you, Dragon Warrior."

The Jade Palace stood tall above the Valley of Peace, a beacon of hope and tranquility. Two years had passed since the defeat of Chith the Chameleon. Po, now the Grand Dragon Master, had passed the mantle of Dragon Warrior to Lian, a skilled and determined fox. Po remained a mentor, guiding Lian and the Furious Five with wisdom, humor, and his unshakable love for dumplings.

In the courtyard, Lian sparred with Tigress, their movements swift and precise. Tigress’s strikes were relentless, while Lian’s flowed with graceful precision. They exchanged blows, the sound of their combat echoing.

"Nice move," Tigress grunted.

"Thanks," Lian smirked, sidestepping another strike. "Learned from the best."

On the sidelines, Po clapped enthusiastically, his mouth full of dumplings. "Great form! But check this out!" He attempted a spinning kick, only to trip and send dumplings flying.

Monkey and Mantis burst into laughter. Even Tigress allowed a faint smile. Lian shook her head, chuckling. "Thanks, Master Po. Noted."

Before the moment could stretch, Master Shifu entered, his expression grim. The courtyard fell silent.

"A village to the east has been destroyed," Shifu announced. "The culprit is a wolf, black as night. Only thirteen survived."

The group exchanged uneasy glances. Lian's voice wavered slightly. "What kind of wolf?"

Shifu's tone was grave. "Not an ordinary one. He leaves only destruction. His motives are still unclear."

Po’s playful demeanor faded. "Don't worry, Master Shifu. We'll handle it, but first let eat something!"

Later, at Mr. Ping’s noodle shop, Po devoured a towering plate of dumplings as Mr. Ping hovered nearby. "Po, eat more! You're working too hard!"

Li Shan chuckled. "If he eats any more, he’ll roll all the way to the village."

Po grinned. "Rolling is a fighting style!"

Despite the lighthearted mood, Lian remained quiet, her thoughts clouded by the wolf’s ominous presence. Po noticed and nudged her gently. "Hey, you okay?"

Lian forced a smile. "Just thinking about the wolf."

Po’s expression softened. "We’ve got this. Whatever happens, we face it together."

Li Shan leaned closer, his tone serious. "Be careful. Something dark is stirring."

Po nodded firmly. "We will. Promise."
