The obeying and protective droids are known inventions within the lab, where human scientists invented them. They are programmed to know information and to obey any command by humans. However, in a last attempt, Dr. Rawcazack did last-minute programming for them to obey and even protect his inventions, The clones of humanity.

The droids' operating systems allowed them to obey the commands of humans or the clones of humanity, to aid humankind or the clones in any way they could, meaning, medically, combat training, or even protecting them. Even though they were programmed to obey humanity and their clones, they did have freedom, allowing them to live a life just like living beings.

However, the droids still had the flaws of combat and destruction. This flaw turned into an upgrade or a useful quirk against the dangerous Black Locust swarm. Only one droid was alone, programmed to do a task, to protect the clones and train any droid that had suddenly activated. This Droid was, CPOD-9. Also known as Clone Protective Operating Droid Number 9.

Though CPOD-9, was supposed to protect the clones and train any droids that awoke from slumber, it had a protocol. Its protocol was not to seriously harm or kill any droids or clones of Humanity and to show the clones and droids how to fight and survive on their own.

However, the lab slowly decayed and went silent as days turned into years then turned to centuries. CPOD-9 watched Dr. Rawcazack and the other scientists rot into nothingness and patiently waited for the droids or clones to awaken from the slumber, so it could continue its job.
