Fanfiction: Fluttering Feelings (GL)

Chapter 70

Chapter 70

Dec 01, 2024

Beak Seol-a sighed as she gathered her notebooks, the professor had talked almost 30 minutes past the time the class was supposed to end. Luckily, she still had plenty of time to make it to her next class if she left now. Seol-a stood up to leave when she heard her name, she looked to see the person next to her beaming up at her.

“Yes?”, Seol-a asked.

“What class do you have next?”, she asked as she stood up. “I have Profession Nelson for Economics next.”

This was the first time this girl had spoken to her. Why today, Seol-a pondered.

“Oh, I had him last year. He’s really tough but he usually answers questions after class if you need help.” Seol-a said kindly, walking down the hall.

The girl droned on and on about her classes. Seol-a just nodded her head and smiled, most people didn’t really talk to her to have a conversation, so she just encouraged the girl to talk more. She never really understood her own allure, she knew she was beautiful but even she felt conversations with her were dull. Most people just talked to her about school or their social life. None of which she personally found interesting.

She chose to learn business admin at the suggestion of her mother, “There’s more job opportunities, darling.” her mother stated pointedly. Her brothers had followed a similar path, in hopes of working alongside their father at the hedge fund he partnered.

They stepped outside, the girl grabbed her hat before it blew off from the wind. Seol-a waved goodbye to the girl hoping that she wouldn’t follow her if she started walking in the opposite direction. I’m going to have to walk around the other side of the building to get to class, Seol-a wore boots today so the walk would be nice. She wrapped her scarf up higher around her neck and started walking.

No-rea looked out the window, spotting Seol-a walking to her next class. Completely distracted now she watched Seol-a until she disappeared around the corner of the building. Maybe she should ask her to dinner tonight, watch a movie and just relax. The cold weather made No-rea want to bundle up inside with some hot food. She should ask Seol-a to make something yummy for her.

She looked back at the front of class, spotting all the notes on the white board she had missed. Quickly writing everything down before it got erased, good thing this teacher writes down everything.

Seol-a stirred the pot of stew mixing the ingredients thoroughly. No-rea had texted her earlier asking if she would make her dinner and watch a movie together. Seol-a hummed happily to herself, waiting for No-rea to come. She spent an unnecessary amount of time looking through recipes trying to find the perfect meal for them tonight, she also made sure there was enough for a second helping. How No-rea ate so much she would never understand, where does she put it all, she thought. Her mind wandered to her hips, then her chest. Seol-a blushed, her whole face turning red. What am I thinking about? I can’t even tell her I like her and now I’m thinking about her body!, Seol-a went to the fridge and grabbed a seltzer water, then put it back and grabbed a bottle of wine. She wanted to relax before No-rea showed up.

I wonder what she would think of me if I asked her to go out with me. Seol-a had never had trouble getting a date but being in a relationship was foreign to her. None of her relationships lasted long, what made her think No-rea would be any different. She wondered if she even deserved No-rea, would she be able to provide a stable relationship for her. All her boyfriends up to this point had been fun but as soon as feelings got involved she put her walls up and shut them out. How different would it be with a woman? Seol-a already struggled being friends with women, let alone a relationship.

Her phone buzzed, pulling her from her thoughts. No-rea sent her two photos, one was a delicious strawberry cake and the other was a gooey chocolate cake. Seol-a never really had a sweet tooth but the wine might have influenced her taste because chocolate sounded amazing at the moment. She sent a reply to the picture of the chocolate cake with a heart emoji, “The chocolate one looks yummy!”, she messaged back. A thumbs up emoji popped up on her message.

Seol-a took another sip of wine and checked the pot of stew, taking a small taste of the stew, she nodded her head with approval.

No-rea knocked, before opening the door.

“Hmmm! What are you making? It smells so good!” ,No-rea said, smelling the air like a dog.

She walked over to the table, setting down the cake and taking off her jacket, then her hoodie pulling her hat off with it. No-rea walked over to the pot on the stove and took the top off, taking another whiff.

“Is it ready?” No-rea asked, practically drooling. Seol-a smirked,”Yes, let me grab a bowl.”

Seol-a opened the cabinet and reached for the bowls. She felt arms wrap around her waist squeezing her tight.

“Thank you for doing all this.” No-rea mumbled into her back. Seol-a leaned into No-rea and placed her hand over hers. “Of course, I love spending time with you.” Seol-a stated tenderly. They stood there like that for a moment before No-rea let her go.

“I’m going to use the bathroom first.” No-rea said quickly, abruptly letting Seol-a go. Walking over to the bathroom before Seol-a could turn around.

I wonder what that was for, Seol-a mused.

Seol-a grabbed the bowls and scooped a healthy potion into each bowl. Walking into the living room and turning the tv on. She stepped back into the kitchen and drank the rest of her wine, then walked to the fridge and grabbed two seltzer waters. No-rea stepped out of the bathroom shortly after and plopped down next to Seol-a. She grinned at her and without saying anything grabbed her bowl and took a large bite.

No-rea moaned loudly, “I swear you’re perfect!”, she groaned enviously,” What movie did you want to watch?”,No-rea asked, grabbing the remote, flipping through streaming services. “I heard there was a pretty good action movie on stream”

She clicked through a few tabs before looking over at Seol-a. She hadn’t even taken a bit of her food, “Is everything okay?”,Seol-a asked hesitantly.

No-rea didn’t really want to talk about it so she took another bite of food, to think about how she should answer. “I’m just a little stressed about school.” No-rea said with a small smile, ”I had really hoped to graduate on time but I guess that's not possible.” No-rea grumbled the last part, “I really don’t want to talk about it right now.” She clicked through a few more movies, finding the movie she was looking for, "What do you think about this one?”.

Seol-a looked at the screen, it looked like a romance but had a good acting lineup so she agreed to watch it. No-rea played the movie and went back to eating, making small noises with each bite.

Even if Seol-a didn’t know what to say, at least she knew her cooking could make No-rea happy. They both ate in silence while they watched the movie, the start was pretty interesting. It was about a man who had awaken on a luxury ship in space alone, 90 years before the ship was suppose to land on its designated planet, and while mourning his loneliness he decided to awaken another passenger to spend time with him.

How selfish, No-rea thought, why would you ruin someone else's life just because you’re lonely. No-rea set her bowl down and curled her legs up on the couch, getting more comfortable. She looked over at Seol-a, who looked to be enjoying the movie. Maybe I wouldn’t be so mad if it was her, No-rea pictured them on the ship alone, enjoying all the amenities of the ship without interruption. That might actually be nice. I wouldn’t have to worry about school and every day I could spend time with Seol-a. No-rea blushed a bit, she was being ridiculous. She really felt lucky to have a friend like her, somehow she felt like no matter what Seol-a would accept all of her. What is it about her that made her feel so safe? We have been through a lot together in a short amount of time, she took another quick glance at Seol-a, shadows danced across her face, with the changing of scenes on the tv.  No-rea looked back at the tv lost in thought, no longer paying attention to the movie.

Seol-a got up next to her, “How about dessert?” Seol-a asked, then reached out and grabbed No-rea’s bowl.

“Yes! I’ll help cut the cake.” No-rea paused the movie and followed Seol-a into the kitchen. “What do you think of the movie so far?” Seol-a asked. No-rea looked up from the knife drawer, Seol-a was looking down, rinsing the dishes.

“It’s pretty good, I didn’t expect it to be so funny.” No-rea said as she sliced up the cake, she walked to the cabinet and took out two plates.

“Do you want to take any of this home?” Seol-a pointed to the pot still on the stove.

“Um, yes!”, No-rea said ecstatically, putting the rest of the cake in the fridge. She spotted the opened bottle of wine in the door, “Do you mind if I have some wine?”.

Seol-a nodded, “Sure.” ,as she stepped around her, brushing No-rea's stomach as she put two tupperware containers in the fridge. No-rea felt her stomach flutter, butterflies, suddenly nervous she stepped back.

Seol-a grabbed the wine and smiled, “We might as well finish it.” ,Seol-a said mischievously, “ Wine never tastes the same the next day after it's opened.”

Seol-a walked back into the living room with the glasses and bottle of wine. Pouring a large portion into each glass, she set the bottle on the table and sat down. No-rea handed her a slice of cake and a fork, sitting down next to her. She reached for the remote and resumed the movie. The cake was amazing and disappeared from their plates quickly, Seol-a used her finger to swipe the little bit of chocolate icing off her plate and licked it off her finger.

Is she just naturally seductive, No-rea turned to the tv trying to avoid staring. Watching her lick her fingers made her squirm with restless excitement. This really is not far. Why do I have all these uncomfortable feelings when we’re together? When she barely touches me I feel my heart skip a beat, instead of moving away, I just want to be closer. No-rea took a sip of wine, it was bitter and not at all something she would have bought for herself, but maybe it will numb these thoughts swirling in her head.

Seol-a stretched her legs across the couch, setting them in No-rea’s lap. She looked up at her, Seol-a poked her with her foot,

“What are you thinking about?” she asked innocently. No-rea felt her heart flutter, “Nothing, what makes you say that?”, taking another sip of wine.

“Well you were frowning throughout the movie so I assumed you were thinking about something”, Seol-a smiled at her sweetly, “I know you said you don’t want to talk about it but I’m always here if you want to talk. It makes me sad to see you sad.” She was always so sweet to No-rea, it really wasn’t fair, it made her feel exposed.

No-rea scratched her head, she was at a loss for words, she had so many things on her mind where would she even start.

Seol-a got up suddenly and went into her bedroom. No-rea heard her rummaging around and she emerged a moment later with a blanket. Seol-a opened the blanket and sat down, she stretched herself across the couch again but this time opened her legs. She looked at No-rea, motioning her to come toward her. No-rea hesitated, then pulled herself up and crawled across the couch, resting her head on Seol-a’s chest. They both shifted, getting comfortable laying with each other. Seol-a covered them with the blanket, wrapping her arms around No-rea and resting her cheek on No-rea’s head.

“Are you comfortable?”, Seol-a asked into the crown of No-rea’s hair.

"Yes, very." ,No-rea mummered enjoying the warmth. Wondering what to say she laid there for a moment, where do I even start, she thought.

Its not often such a beautiful story is written and I hope to do the author justice with my vision. I appreciate any suggestions to create a story all her fans can enjoy.
