When All Might pulled up in front of Bakugou's house he was at a loss for words. Bakugou’s home was everything Denki expected while somehow, simultaneously, not being anything like it at all. It was quite the opposite of Denki’s own family home. While Denki’s home was average and a little on the small side, Bakugou’s home was extravagant and large. The home had multiple floors, three if he was being exact, and even had multiple balconies. Though Denki hasn’t seen the inside yet he can probably guess that the house is spotless and filled with only the most expensive and best.
“Dunce Face.”
Denki, startled out of his thoughts, looks over to Bakugou. He doesn’t look the slightest bit happy about being here. Though Denki can admit he felt the same way. He thought seeing Bakugou’s parents would be easier but somehow it was worse. Of course he was nervous before, but actually being in front of the house brought on a whole new level of nerves. The thought of disappointing his friend's parents was somehow worse than disappointing his own mother. At least with his mother he can know what to expect but with Bakugou's parents he has nothing to go off of. Not even stories because Bakugou was stingy about sharing anything personal. Denki can't blame him though because he does the same thing. He isn’t ashamed of his family, it’s just that he knows people are going to ask the obvious question, where is your dad? In fact he's even surprised Bakugou didn’t ask or make a slight remark.
“You good?” Denki was shocked at the look on his face, it was one he had never seen on the other before. It looked like he was concerned, for him?
“Yeah, yeah I am,” it’s not the truth but he doesn’t really want to dive into his emotions at this moment.
Bakugou gave him a knowing look but didn’t push, “Well hurry up then I want to get this done as quickly as possible,” Between them Katsu cooed, “see even he agrees.”
Denki watched as Bakugou grabbed the car seat Katsu was lying peacefully in and exited the vehicle. He stayed in the car for a few more seconds to prepare himself. Once he deemed himself ready he grabbed the diaper bag and exited the car. Bakugou stood by the front of the car, Katsu looking around at the new scenery from his car seat while sucking on his fingers, waiting for him. “I’m good.”
“Good luck you two! Please call if anything happens, and don’t forget I’ll be back in two hours to bring you back to the dorms!” All Might said bright as ever.
“Don’t worry All Might, we would never cause any trouble!” The man's smile tightened at his words. Yeah he didn’t believe what Denki said at all. Still they watched as the hero backed out the driveway, waving one last time before driving off to who knows where.
The other blond grunted and made his way to the door and was about to knock but he turned and faced Denki, “I would stand back, the hag yells loud enough for the fucking deaf to hear.”
That got a laugh at him. He has been dealing with Bakugou’s yelling for well over a year, there is no way his mom is worse. Right? Bakugou just shrugged off his laughter and knocked on the door. He had a feeling he was going to regret not backing up.
It didn’t take long to hear footsteps heading toward the door. And it didn’t take much long to hear someone cursing up a storm. Even through the door the cursing was quite loud. Yep, he is definitely regretting not taking the others advice.
“Who the fuck is -” The woman who answered the door screeched before pausing once she realized who knocked. Wow. Okay, now that he could get a good look at the woman it was easy to see where Bakugou got his looks from. He was a carbon copy of his mom. You could tell Denki that Bakugou was actually a clone from his mom and he’d believe it. That’s how much they looked alike. The only slight differences he could tell was that the woman was slightly taller than her son, probably by an inch or two, and she had longer hair. Shit if Bakugou grew out his hair Denki doesn’t know if he’d be able to tell them apart. “Katsuki!? What the hell are you doing here brat? You don’t visit for weeks and then suddenly show up with no warning! Who raised you to do that because it sure as fucking hell wasn’t me or your dad!” Bakugou’s mom ranted, still not noticing Katsu or even Denki.
Bakugou just stood there and rolled his eyes, not even flinching at the onslaught of words being thrown at him, “Calm down you Old Hag, it’s not like I wanted to come see you.” Denki had to admit he stared at the scene playing out in front of him slightly slack jawed. It was kind of a lot to process at once and it didn’t get any easier as he watched Bakugou put the car seat into his mother's hands as he walked past her. What the hell is going on! “Are you coming, Dunce Face!” he yelled walking into the house, already taking his shoes off. It looked like his mom was going to start yelling again before she was interrupted by the sound of Katsu cooing. It looked like her jaw was going to fall off from how fast it fell when she processed what she was looking at.
Denki took the chance while she was distracted to move past her. He knew logically that she wasn’t dangerous (hopefully) but he couldn’t control the sense of fear that lingered when being in her presence. Similar to the feeling he had when he first met Bakugou. Quickly he takes off his shoes in the doorway next to the ones already laid there.
Now that he was inside he could finally see the environment Bakugou grew up in. And shit. The place was nice. The place had a nice open floor plan, allowing everything to flow cohesively. The living room was huge and just by looking at the furniture he can tell it was very expensive. They probably got it from one of those European brands that he never learned to pronounce the name of, mostly because he never thought he'd have the chance of owning anything from them. And unlike his house there were barely any photos hanging up on the walls. In fact there seemed to only be one, and it was set on the coffee table (not that he could make out what it was from where he was standing).
On one of the couches sat one very annoyed Bakugou, who looked like he would rather be anywhere but here. And he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t feeling the same. Now being in the house he’s fully realizing what is about to happen. They are going to have to explain to Bakugou’s parents that their teenage son and his friend (yes, friend even though Bakugou may never say it out loud) that they were hit by a quirk and now had a baby magically appear that was genetically both theirs. Yep. Totally normal, nothing to freak out about. Oh who is he kidding, there is everything to freak out about in this situation. Shit, maybe it isn’t too late to back out of this?
“Hey, Dunce Face, are you done with that over thinking shit? ‘Cause I can already see the smoke coming out of your ears from over working that dumb brain of yours.”
There he goes again with that concerned look, pulling Denki out of his downward spiral. Damn, is he that easy to read? Or does Bakugou just have the power of reading him like a book?
“Hah, you know me Kacchan! Always an over-thinker.” He mentally facepalms. God, why does he have to be an idiot in these moments?
Bakugou’s mom was finally able to process what was happening, well the best that she could with the little information she had and stormed over to where her son and his friend (was he there the whole time?) were in the living room. She still held onto the car seat, though she held it with the delicacy of a pro. “Katsuki!? You have a lot of fucking explaining to do right now! Why the hell is there a baby in my arms?” She glances over to where Denki was standing next to the couch. “And who the hell is this?” The woman looked mad, face red with confused rage. Now finally being noticed he wished he could go back to when he wasn’t. He thought Bakugou's glares were deadly but they don’t hold a candle to his moms. At this moment he understood the phrase “if looks could kill”.
“Geez, just ask everything at once why don’t you.” The eyeroll after was deadly. “Shouldn’t we get the old man first anyway. I don’t have time to explain all of this shit twice.”
“Katsuki!”
He thanks whatever lords are looking out for him that Katsu enjoys the sound of yelling because this would all be a lot worse with a crying baby to handle. In fact the baby looks like he’s entertained by the whole ordeal, silent and eyes wide, taking everything in. Logically it's impossible that he understands anything with him only being two months old but his point still stands.
With all the commotion Bakugou's mom was making (wow he really needs to find out her name…) it was no surprise that his dad ran down the stairs to figure out what's got his wife so riled up.
“Mitsuki, honey, what’s going on.” Concern written all over the man's face.
Mitsuki, finally a name to the face, turned to her husband and raised the car seat for him to see.
Speechless. That is the only way to describe his reaction. A few seconds passed before he found his words, “Okay, well um..” Sweat started to form on the man's face, the stress of the situation hitting him. “This is a lot to take in.”
“Tch, no shit Masura!” Mitsuki now directed her rage to her husband. “Our teenage son brought home one of his classmates and a fucking baby!”
“I see that honey,” Sensing his wifes rebuttal he holds his hand up, pleading for her to let him finish. “How about we all sit down and talk this through. And yes that means no yelling.” He gives a pointed look to both his wife and son.
So that's exactly what they do. Katsu ends up getting handed back to Denki, who takes him out the car seat, while Bakugou’s parents sit on the couch across from where Bakugou has been sitting the whole time. Denki moves to sit to the right of Bakugou. He makes sure to get himself and Katsu in a comfortable position, something tells him they were going to be sitting there for a while.
“So Katsuki, want to tell us what happened? And who is this friend you brought with you?” Masura asked when everyone was settled into their seats.
Before Bakugou had the chance to answer, Denki spoke up. “Oh, my name is Kaminari sir. I’m Bakugou’s classmate.” Shoot. Was that too formal? He just wants to make a good first impression.
“It’s nice to meet you Kaminari. I’m Masura and this is Mitsuki,” he takes this chance to properly introduce them to their guest, “We are Katsuki’s parents, though I’m sure you already knew that. I have to say, I do wish we would have met under more normal circumstances.” He can’t disagree with that.
“Great, now that the pleasantries are out the way, can we get to why there is a baby in my house?” While more calm then she was earlier it’s clear her patience is thinning.
Right, the reason they even visited.
He glances over to his left, where the other sat. It was as if they were about to be sent into battle with how tense Bakugou was. Having known him for a while it’s not crazy to think he might prefer it to being here right now.
Without thinking Denki takes his hand, the other still holding Katsu in place, and places his hand on his friend's shoulder. The muscle under his hand tightens in reflex as Bakugou turns to see what touched him. His tension slowly leaves his shoulders as he makes eye contact with Denki, who in turn gives him a small smile..
Reassured, Bakugou turns to his parents, sighing deeply before restating everything he said to Denki’s mom to his parents.
