As she stepped onto the court, she noticed a tall figure practicing his serves. He had an easy smile and an air of confidence that caught her attention. His dark hair was slightly tousled. His dark hair was slightly tousled. His striking green eyes were like red flares with a mix of mischief and hatered, framed by long lashes. A charming smile graced his lips, revealing straight, white teeth . He wore a fitted nike-black t-shirt that accentuated his toned arms and comfortable athletic shorts. Overall, he had an approachable and charismatic presence that drew people.
Eriana stopped.
-“Hey there! You must be new,”
he called out, noticing her hesitation.
Eri stood frozen for a moment, taken aback by the mysterious person's striking appearance. His confident stance and warm smile made her heart race, and she quickly averted her gaze, focusing intently on the ground instead. She felt a blush creeping up her cheeks, embarrassed by her reaction.
-“Is it that obvious?”
She replied avoiding eye contract.
-“Hey,”
He said, his voice smooth and teasing.
- “Has your mom taught you to look at people when they’re talking to you?”
Eri glanced up, startled by his playful tone. She met his green eyes.
-“Uh, I mean… yeah, she has,”
she stammered, trying to regain her composure.
“Then why are you avoiding my gaze?”
He asked, a grin spreading across his face.
Eri felt her cheeks heat up even more.
-“I guess I just wasn’t expecting…”
She trailed off, unsure of how to finish her thought.
-“Expecting what? To see someone like me?”
He joked, raising an eyebrow.
-“Something like that,”
She replied, finally allowing herself to smile back.
-“You just caught me off guard.”
-“Good to know I have that effect,”
he said, leaning in slightly.
-“So, what’s your name?”
-“Eriana,”
She replied, feeling a mix of nervousness as their conversation began to flow.
He laughed, a warm sound that made her shaken.
-“Well, you’re not exactly blending in with the pros over there. I’m Kenneth, by the way, but you can call be Kenny!”
“Call me Eri then if it's that way!"
She chuckled, she's wasn't shy anymore. This guy isn't exactly her type if it's about interest. Comfort filled her heart after the realisation.
- “And I’m just here to prove a point.”
“Oh really? And what point is that?”
He asked, leaning on his racket, clearly intrigued.
“That I can totally beat my brother at this,”
She said, a smirk appearing on her lips while she pointed at her brother.
"Wait, Issac is your brother? Haha. You both do look alike very- good looking"
he teased, raising an eyebrow.
-“It's about the skills honey"
She shot back.
-" Wha-what did you call me!?"
Kenneth muttered. He actually heard it ,but did she really say..."Honey"? Kenneth looked away abit nervous. He leaned closer.
When Eri realised what she said, it was too late. She knew that the phase "honey" in a sentence like this, her movements, and her tone, it really isn't suspicious at all. But judging by Kenneth's reaction, he really didn't have the same thoughts. Kenny leaned closer but he was looking away. Even though she forced herself to think he's not her type. Her heart still rush when he lean towards her.
-"Ugh it's normal!"
She poked his head hard.
-“Ow- al-alright, then! Let’s see if you can back that up,”
he said, his eyes sparkling with challenge.
Eriana felt a smile creeping onto her face.
- “Just don’t cry when I win.”
-“Cry? Me? Not a chance,”
he said, grinning.
-“But I might need a moment to recover my pride.”
As they bantered back and forth, Eriana felt her nerves begin to fade. Maybe this class wouldn’t be so bad after all. With a flicker of anticipation in her chest, she knew that this was just the beginning of something new.
