The Silent Stare
The episode opens with a tense, silent exchange between Seo-yeon and Seok-ho. Time seems to slow as they lock eyes. Seo-yeon feels a strange pull, a deep sense of familiarity as she stares into his eyes. She knows, instinctively, that Seok-ho is the same person who saved her that night outside the supermarket. Though the driver never saw his face, something in her gut tells her the truth.
Seok-ho, for his part, maintains a calm demeanor, but his eyes betray an unspoken intensity. There’s something magnetic about Seo-yeon—her strength, her vulnerability—that draws him in, making it impossible to look away.
Their quiet moment is broken when Mi-rae, Seo-yeon’s secretary, calls out to her, bringing her back to the present.
Mi-rae: (interrupting the moment) "Ma’am."
Seo-yeon blinks, breaking the stare. Her heart still races, but she quickly regains her composure.
Seo-yeon: "Yes, Mi-rae?"
Though Seo-yeon turns her attention back to her duties, her mind lingers on Seok-ho. There’s something about him that fascinates her, a mystery she feels compelled to solve.
The Private Conversation
After a few moments of contemplation, Seo-yeon stands and gestures for Seok-ho to follow her to a quieter, more private part of the room. She motions him to a corner away from the others, her tone both direct and cautious.
Seo-yeon: (probing) "I want to speak with you alone."
Seok-ho follows her, intrigued but also a little surprised. Once they’re away from the group, Seo-yeon looks at him carefully, her expression unreadable.
Seo-yeon: (coldly) "Who are you, and why do you keep showing up in front of me? What is your intention?"
Seok-ho, unfazed by her questioning, offers a small but confident smile. Despite the tension in the air, he remains composed.
Seok-ho: (smiling) "I like you."
Seo-yeon’s eyes widen in disbelief. Her heart skips a beat, her mind scrambling to process his unexpected words.
Seo-yeon: (confused) "W-What?"
Seok-ho’s smile softens, and his expression grows more earnest as he steps closer, lowering his voice just enough for only her to hear.
Seok-ho: "I fell for you the first time I saw you standing outside the car. My heart raced in that moment, and it's still the same now."
Seo-yeon freezes, unsure of how to react. The confession is too sudden, too raw, leaving her speechless. For a moment, it feels like the world has stopped spinning, and all she can focus on is the overwhelming intensity in Seok-ho’s gaze.
Before Seo-yeon can respond, Mi-rae calls her name from the other side of the room, interrupting their moment.
Mi-rae: "Ma’am, it’s time."
Seo-yeon, flustered and still processing the confession, gathers herself quickly. She turns away from Seok-ho, trying to regain her composure.
The Selection Process
They return to the group, and the bodyguard selection continues. Now that the moment between Seo-yeon and Seok-ho lingers in her mind, she finds it harder to focus. The candidates stand before her, each one responding to her questions as she assesses their skills and suitability.
When it’s Seok-ho’s turn, Seo-yeon looks at him thoughtfully, still caught up in the earlier conversation. Her gaze lingers on him as she asks the pivotal question.
Seo-yeon: (to Seok-ho, thoughtfully) "Tell me why I should choose you over the others."
Seok-ho’s confidence remains intact, but this time, his words carry a new depth. He speaks of his past experiences and his discipline, but most importantly, he emphasizes something that feels personal.
Seok-ho: "I may not have the polished background that others do, but I have something they don’t—a genuine desire to protect you. I won’t back down when it matters."
Seo-yeon listens carefully, her mind still clouded by his confession, but she can’t help but be impressed by the sincerity in his voice. His honesty strikes a chord with her.
After a long moment of silence, Seo-yeon nods, her decision clear.
Seo-yeon: "You’re the one."
A small smile breaks through Seok-ho’s serious demeanor, and for the first time, he looks genuinely happy. He feels as though this is the first step in a deeper connection with her.
The Announcement
Later that day, Seok-ho shares the news with his friends, Min-gi and Jae-hyun. He’s officially been hired as Seo-yeon’s personal bodyguard, which means he will be moving into her house. There’s an excitement in his voice as he shares the news.
Seok-ho: (grinning) "I got the job. I’ll be staying at her place."
Min-gi raises an eyebrow, clearly impressed.
Min-gi: "So, you’re really going to be her bodyguard now?"
Seok-ho: "Yeah, looks like it."
Seok-ho feels a sense of purpose now, thrilled by the opportunity. But mixed with his excitement is a growing complexity—his feelings for Seo-yeon are deeper than he expected, and the line between professional duty and personal desire is becoming harder to navigate.
The First Day on the Job
The next day, Seok-ho arrives at Seo-yeon’s luxurious mansion. He is introduced to the staff and given a tour of the estate, which is equipped with high-tech security systems. His quarters are located in a separate wing of the house, where the maids and other staff reside.
Seok-ho is briefed on his responsibilities, which include not only protecting Seo-yeon but also understanding her daily schedule, the company’s operations, and the people she interacts with. As he absorbs all this information, his thoughts often return to Seo-yeon. Every time he sees her, he feels that same pull, that same sense of connection, but she remains distant, professional, and unaffected by his presence.
The Ominous Presence
As the day winds down, Seo-yeon is engaged in a business conversation in a hallway of the mansion. She stands with one of her colleagues from the company, discussing strategy. Seok-ho stands nearby, ever watchful, his eyes scanning the surroundings for any potential danger.
Suddenly, the camera shifts, and in the far end of the hallway, a shadowy figure emerges from the darkness. The figure is dressed in dark clothing, their face obscured. In their hand, they hold a knife, their posture menacing.
Seok-ho’s sharp instincts kick in. His body tenses as he spots the threat. Every muscle in his body is primed for action, and his focus narrows in on the figure. It’s clear that the danger is imminent, but Seok-ho remains calm, ready to protect Seo-yeon at all costs. The tension builds as he prepares to act, knowing the stakes are higher than ever.
