Like every other day, Hibriel flew to the Garden of Eden. The warmth of sunlight accompanied him as he strolled leisurely through a field of lilies —in all kinds of colors. In between were some willows, their branches hanging low and leaves rustling within the breeze; creating a melody so captivating and refreshing one might have thought that time has stopped.
Hibriel lowered his luscious lashes —a sense of melancholy overcame him. With a dejected smile painted upon his face, he stopped for a spell. He did not know why this feeling suddenly struck his cords, nonetheless the forbidding feeling would not leave his heart no matter how he tried to distract himself.
Slowly Hibriel’s peach blossom eyes spotted a lonely lavender standing in the distance.
—Just why was it standing there? The flower did not even fit into the field of lilies with its light purplish color yet it was quite alluring; it practically screamed "look at me".
Hibriel wondered why that flower grew there and stepped in its direction. But when he reached the place where the flower should be standing it mysteriously disappeared as if it was never there to begin with. How very curious.
His eyes widened in surprise because all that was left was a little flower spirit giggling and flying away.
Hibriel was successfully tricked by one of the garden's inhabitants. The corners of his lips rose high into a perfect smile, he chuckled and continued his walk through the garden.
Soon the Angeli reached the Wisteria forest and the refreshing flowery scent climbed up to his nostrils.
A scent so familiar, so calming.
Once again he found himself within the Crystal Terrace reading the novel he brought along. This time his book was a novel of fiction telling an epic tale about 2 gay lovers. It was a story set in a fantasy setting, the hero fighting for his love and conquering the demon king. There was a happy ending to the story and the Mc and ML violently made out directly in the Throneroom of the defeated demon king. Hibriel, taken aback, let out a groan. He did not quite expect that the contents of this story were so…so detailed… even within such intimate scenes. He kept a straight face while reading this romance to the end, although he could not hide the pink flush reaching up to his ears. By the last page of this wild love story our Angeli Hibriel was so flustered that he just smacked the book closed, raised one hand to his lips and covered his face with his fluffy head wings in an attempt to hide from the world.
“Haaaa… just what the hell did she buy… This book… it’s truly too much.“ His voice was shaky.
Oh how innocent this soul was, truly the image of a pure white Gypsophila. This innocent soul was quite flustered but its shyness hasn’t stopped it from taking in all the crude details resulting in a bright redness across its surface.
And so this innocent soul got itself a cup of herbal tea to calm down. As Hibriel drank the hot liquid he put the book back into his pocket, with the intention of handing it to Uriel later.
The flush slowly subsided, Hibriel emptied his cup and moved to the back of the terrace. The view from the back granted one a slight glimpse of the world below, even though so far away, one was barely able to make out a building. This place really only offered a glimpse through the barrier, nothing more.
Hibriel leaned onto the railing gazing downwards, his gentle demeanor apparent. If only he could leave his duties and life in heaven behind…
«Just maybe… maybe the time has come… maybe I should make the move and leave, no matter what the others might say… no they won’t even know.»
The cogs within his mind turned. He planned out what to take along and when to descend —it was already decided that he would make the move. Although he did not dare to leave forever; he just planned to visit for a short while. After all, time flew faster down on earth than in the heavenly realm. You must know that one day in the heavenly realm equaled around 3 days on earth so it shouldn’t pose much of a problem if he left for a few days.
Once he made up his mind he soared with lightning speed to Uriel’s office. He opened the door with such momentum it almost crashed into the wall.
“Mother, no, Seraphim Uriel, I wish to ask for vacation for the next few days.“
Uriel shrieked away, she almost jumped to the ceiling, yes she was so startled she even almost threw a vase at Hibriel.
“For fucks sake who dares to enter my office like that! I almost got a heart attack from this sudden intrusion!“
Uriel looked up only now she realized who it was and cleared her throat.
“Oh …it’s you… I should have expected such irascible behavior from my offspring…“
Hibriel was speechless.
“Well Hibriel what brings you to me?“
“I have said it when I entered, I wish to take a leave for the next few days.“
“For what?“
“Reading those new books you bought recently“
Uriel stared at him and sighed.
“Fine.“
Hibriel looked at her surprised, he did not expect to get permission this easily. However he was happy about it nonetheless. With a smile on his face he thanked her. Before Hibriel forgot he took out the novel from his pocket and handed it back to Uriel. A light pink appeared on his cheek.
“This book… It certainly was interesting… ”
“Oh.”
All Uriel could express was a stunned silence. This Book, it was never meant to pass Hibriels hands, never meant to pass into the inner section; it was actually a book from Uriel's private collection. It was a sheer mistake that it went to the wrong place.
“Well… just leave it here then. I’ll… uh…pay attention so you won’t get such an explicit novel again…” With that their short conversation ended and Hibriel turned to leave.
Back in his room he prepared for his short trip and a certain restlessness arose. After all, tomorrow was the day he would set his plan in motion so it was no wonder that this restless feeling of excitement dwelled up within Hibriel’s core.
Shortly after settling every matter that was left he fell asleep drifting off into his dreams again. And once more the dreamscape formed —the same one he dreamt about last time. Only one difference showed itself; the figure now had a voice.
“Hibriel, why?…“
«What do you mean? Why? Who are you? I don’t even know what happened, no I …I don’t remember.»
Once again he awoke drenched and panting. His heart churned, his wings dropped. Yet again unsure of its meaning he thought if this was merely a coincidence or something entirely different. He clenched his teeth hissing out a pained sigh. No matter what this dreamscape held for Hibriel it couldn’t be of less concern to him for the time being —well, the next day did hold some importance in his heart.
He regained his composure fast and hurriedly took his belongings. Leaving his quarters behind, Hibriel hovered over to the first sector reigned by the gatekeeper Jeramiel, a close acquaintance of his and Uriel.
Obviously it wouldn’t be possible for Hibriel to descend without Jeramiel knowing so he was quite direct with his approach and went to the gate. Jeramiel already stood near the gate, his wings folded neatly together. Hibriel approached him.
A deep melodic voice spoke to him. “Hibriel, you here? Have you once again come begging me to let you pass the gate?“
Jeramiel raised an eyebrow expecting an answer from this delinquent.
“Well Ramiel, I haven’t come to beg. This time I’m merely informing you. I won’t let you stop me again and the reason I have to offer is quite clear: Uriel has too much work to go down herself again so she sent me!“
This was obviously a blunt lie that would only fool an idiot. Of course Jeramiel did not believe a word he said and raised his hand to his forehead. A tired sigh escaped his thin lips. “Do you expect me to believe such nonsense? If you wish to tell lies you should at least make them believable.“
Of course. Hibriel knew this impervious gatekeeper wasn’t swayed easily.
«What a nutcase…. Guess I’ll have to use plan B.»
“You got me there… but I won’t back down this time. Ramiel, I won’t let you stop me under any circumstances. As long as the scribe doesn’t get wind of this everything is fine. Besides, even if it would come to light someday, I will be the one to be punished. —Not to mention I am a cautious person!“
Hibriel tried reasoning as much as he could with as much aspiration as he could. Yes he wholeheartedly tried to convince this Archangeli with all he’s got. But Archangeli were hard nuts to crack by nature; they ultimately held much responsibility —resigning over the sectors.
“Hibriel you do realize that this goes against divine laws and would lead to severe punishment?“ Jeramiels gaze sharpened like a knife ready to slice into bone.
“I am aware, Jeramiel, I am absolutely aware of the consequences.” The air grew tense. The seriousness Hibriel emitted could send shivers down one's spine.
“Very well”, Jeramiel spoke resignedly, “If you insist, I shall keep it a secret, but in the case somebody discovers this I will not hesitate to say you snuck through the gate behind my back.”
“Thank you.”
Hibriel walked past the taller Jeramiel and pushed the gate open. Right then Jeramiel stopped him once more. A look of concern was inscribed on his facade and he handed Hibriel a small token. The token had the function of a passkey, with it an Angeli was able to return to the heavenly realm without an alarm. Hibriel started perplexed at the Archangeli before a gentle smile formed his eyes into crescents.
“Take care Hibriel.”
“I will, thank you.”
And with these words Hibriel began his journey, descending from the clouds far down to the mortal realm —the human world. A place so foreign that struggle was imminent.
