Blazing Paradise's breathing became a bit labored, fearing that Wanderer would admit that it was a "tough" expression.
"I always look like this," Wanderer replied with an unmistakably "cool" demeanor, "Is there anything wrong with that, sir?"
The hand that was holding his chin instantly withdrew, only to reappear on Wanderer's stomach.
Wanderer bent over in pain, emitting a pained "uh-uh" sound.
"Do not question the officer's questions. When the officer asks something, you respond with 'yes' or 'no',"
the officer withdrew his hand and addressed the line, "Otherwise, this is the example!"
The "example" of a body, still bent over, was quivering slightly beside the officer, like a shrimp with its back arched.
The united rookies cast looks of submission towards the officer, and with a sidelong glance of contempt at the "example."
Grievance and humiliation mingled with the pain, flushing Wanderer's cheeks red.
"This is a training camp, and once you step through that door, you are already a soldier!" the officer declared loudly.
"I don't care why you're here, but as soldiers, you have your duties, and the orders of your superiors cannot be defied!
Anyone who dares to go against me again, I will kick their balls so hard they'll burst!
Do you hear me?"
"Yes, sir!" For the sake of their well-being, the rookies chorused in unison, their collective voices, over thirty strong, creating a formidable response.
With a crisp "crack," another rookie standing beside the officer was slapped, becoming the second "example."
"Answer with 'yes' or 'no,' and always add 'sir' at the end!" the officer's voice rang out again.
"Yes, sir!" the rookies responded in unison, with the two "examples" among them being the loudest.
"Ptui!" The officer lifted his visor and spat on the ground, scanning the rookies with a look that one would give to livestock.
"A bunch of trash, run around the training field ten times before you do anything else!"
And so, the rookies began their six-month boot camp training.
On the eve of the interdimensional war between gods and demons, two passionate young men from the Demonic Alliance's Brook Empire enlisted in the military. They made many friends in the training camp and, under the leadership of the captain of the Snowflake Squad, they grew step by step to become the most outstanding warriors in the legion. They achieved victory in the final brutal battle. Just as they were about to embark on a safe journey home, an unexpected situation shattered all their hopes for a peaceful return after victory.
